Just before I was due to fly to the US from the UK, our plane was switched from being a 757 to being a DC-10. When I told my boyfriend he said I should be glad it wasn't a DC-9. When I asked why, he told me that they had a habit of blowing up and some people said DC stood for death cruiser. I shared this information with a woman sitting next to me in the departures lounge and she got so upset that she vomited onto her shoes. Luckily I wasn't sitting by her on the flight itself.

@GM1258 Its called LAPES and this happened in Sicily DZ at Ft. Bragg. Since this crash happened, we stopped doing this for the All American week open house, around memorial day. Btw, that's why there are so many people in the breachers, it was during open house. Apparently, the plane was too high and was going to miss the release point, the pilot over compensated with an agressive desent at the last moment and couldn't recover. Look up "LAPES"

at 2.03 to 2.18 it was a Lancaster Bomber dropping a bouncing bomb of the type used to destroy the German Dams.

This was in Ladybower or Derwent water in Derbyshire UK, and the bomb was dropped to low, and sprung back up and hit the tail of the plane which sent it into the water.

They went on to succeed in their ultimate aim, and the dams Mohne, Eder, Sorpe & Ennepe were damaged or destroyed at a cost of 8 aircraft.

That is DEFINITELY not a Lancaster. Looks like an A-20 or A-26 to me. Notice the tall, straight rudder and only TWO engines. Lancasters have two rudders and FOUR engines.
