That gig was on springfield blvd, half block south of 495. Ive got some pics buried someplace around. the shops name was "the playground". Wild gig. Would love to see them pull some "reunion" gigs around NYC.
I used to love to see this band as a kid in the early '80s. Seeing their energy when they perform inspired me to learn guitar and get into the scene as well. I recall the great times at the gigs in Flushing as well as the outdoor show on Springfield Blvd in front of the New Wave clothing shop. I still have their one album on vinyl. I wish I could still play it.
Wow. Used to hang out at US Blues in Old Roslyn. These guys played one night and blew me away. Recently digitized their album(was a $15 import!) for my iPod, still listen to it. Thanks for the memory!
Yes, thank you! I loved that album, especially this song. My first concert when I was 12 was seeing Vog play in the street in Queens promoting a New Wave clothing shop. I even got a picture with Ony! They were a talented bunch. At least WLIR recognized that. I wish they had done more. I still listen to them as it will always be a favorite.
I have been looking for a video from VOG forever on youtube. Amazing. Their drummer Jimmy Johallis(Chahalis)was my drum teacher for about 3 years when i was a kid.Oney Kaye was the singer, Rennie Xosa(of Nobodys in Flushing) was their bass player. If my memory serves me it looks as if they filmed this video at the corner pocket billiards on northern blvd above borderline towing. Great memories
glad you liked it!!!!!!!!! Robert LoPiccolo, (keyboards) is my brother. I put this old video (the only one Vog ever made) on you tube for him. I hope all the other band members see it. Thanks john

These guys were the uncrowned royalty of the NY new music scene at the time... simply amazing musicians and songs. Would love to see more footage.
