If you want to get hold of lots of Quo material, audio-bootlegs aswell as DVD's - check out my blog: Rocker's Paradise. Just google it, and it's on top...
This band is fantastic....Rossi knows how to do it all....its a shame living in the USA I never had any exposure to this great band only POMM was the big hit here we knew of.....again fantastic band...
@pump35 I believe since the album pretty much sounded like that tune. butI also believe it's a solid concept as an album. if someone heard the album it totally makes sense.

I think this is probably the best pre-1972 track Status Quo ever recorded. Why, oh why, was it not a UK hit???????????

3 chords, eh? I counted about 12 not that it's THAT important. Any similarities to POMN don't bother me either. Great bass.

I meant POMM of course. Would've been easier to write the whole title.....

The critics always had it in for the Quo, but it didn't stop their sucess and massive following after years of hard work

A good example of the "experts" not knowing what the fuck they're on about. Not high art? Then it MUST be shite. The PUBLIC likes it??? Eeegads!

It was never a hit because the critics said that they "Had re-written the words of Matchstickmen to fit the tune". Still a good song
