  • Me want this very much

  • WHAT DOES THIS 4TRACK COST?

  • mines comin in the UPS today!

  • This thing IS my studio...sadly it doesn't make me a better musician. Bah!

  • okay so i may be the one person who doesn't have the adapter but does any 5v work for the dp004?

  • What is the sample rate and frequency response of this product who can tell me? i already have one and am starting to wonder.

  • I'm supposing you can import files onto the SD card, say a drum track, and then record onto that?

  • so i just did a recording how do i turn it into a wav?

  • When I record through the input jacks I have to turn my guitar super low does anyone else have that problem

  • Great product

  • 00:19 he's got weird warty things on his fingers!!

  • @SoundsOfMetal

I'm so glad you noticed that too!

Thought it was an extra fingernail at first...

  • can i put an instrumental from my computer into this ?

  • the 2488 was a total fail! all i want is a dp02(where its all laid out simply like a mixer) but just add 24 tracks 16 ins and motorise the faders.. it cant be that hard!

but all they've done is make the dp03! a bit smaller and harder to use than the dp02 and then discontinued the dp02 (one of their best products)! WHY! TASCAM WHAT ARE YOU DOIN!!!

  • Gotta get better camera crew/equipment.

  • is this good for recording drums?

  • okay this or zoom h2? any advice appreciated.

  • TWO stereo microphones! Wow, what's next? THREE stereo microphones?

  • @gblan HAHAHAH yeah 3.1 surround sound

  • how do you transfer songs from the tascam to the computer?

  • @HAROLDESTEVEZ take out the SD card and either use a USB adapter to your computer or if your computer has an SD slot you can probably use that

  • @HAROLDESTEVEZ What i do is play the song and get a cord to run it to the computer and ro to record and play the song straight to the computer while recording

  • @HAROLDESTEVEZ I plug the small earplug type cord to the eraplug/Line out on the side of the tascam & Line IN on my computer. I uploaded just fine, very high quality.. I cant seem to download back onto the tascam,I can but it sounds terrible. all warbly and the highs go in and out & it sounds very weak. wish the USB would allow me to take the song from my harddrive & put it on the tascam onto one track. Maybe my sound quality wouldnt go to complete crap.

  • Can anyone just give me the simplicity of recording from this?

even with the directions,i feel like this is too complicated.

    please help!

  • @hereinthebronx I line in with my guitar, hit INPUT SETTINGS and make sure your set on whichever A or B input ....then ASSIGN , then hit the RECORD button directly Under whichever track your going to use & it will flash ....when your ready to start recording , hit record/play at the same time (the flashing light will now stay solid red while recording)

  • @97warlock KIND OF YOU! THANX.it took me a while,but i figured it out.

    peace

  • It would be better to explain how to use it than waste time just saying how good it is over and over.

  • @emerton321 I agree it would be better to explain how to use it than say how good it is. The instructions didn't fill me with much confidence either - why don't they just reprint instructions than send a separate sheet to try to explain where errors were in the original instructions? I wonder how many of these lie unused at the back of cupboards too complicated for many with VERY POOR INSTRUCTIONS.

  • would you need any computer programs for this?

  • The best thing I have ever bought.... Love it more than my gretsch! Nearly...

  • im trying to use this to recored my raps so could i store instrumentals on here or recored them, then reocred lyrics over them?

  • @scornedbydeth. You cannot speed up or slow Down a track, but you can change the volume of each track, including turning tracks completely off.

  • @actionhigh thats why you plugin the headphones.. DUH

  • can i connect a line from my mixing board so that i can record the entire band mix during practice or live performances?

  • gawd the camera man sucks balls.

  • @actionhigh no....you would listen to the recorded track through headphones while recording the second track...

  • Is it possible to record, while listening to i.e. the recorded drums, through headphones? So that both the recorded drums + what your recording a.t.m. come out the headphones? I hope I'm not confusing anyone ;p

  • @Goeiuuh of course u can

  • tooo complicated to "record"

  • Is there a light in the LCD screen so you can work with it in poor light conditions??

  • Does this recorder have automatic gain build (I think that's what you call it, not sure)?

If it does, is there a way to turn it off?

  • how do you record drums on a 4 track?

  • @DaBomb3434 i have no idea dude?

  • @DaBomb3434 wait! there's two microphones on both sides on that box1

  • @DaBomb3434

if your talking about this specific 4 track (tascam dp-004), you can use the built in mic's, or (if it's an electric drumset), use a guitar cable, plug one side in on the electric drumset, and one side in the 4 track.

  • @DaBomb3434 mic it up

  • @DaBomb3434 well its best to record with drum triggers or electronic, or a drum machine.

  • does anyone know if this unit has a speed button? so you can speed up or slow down the tracks? and can't you choose if you want to hear certain tracks alone, like vocals or guitar?

  • so can this go to your computer to your window media or somthing then go to cd.sombody please tell me-thanks

  • @antonio123827 yes it has a usb 2.0 output or as he said it has an sd card which you could insert to a computer

  • shure you can use a bass with it! this unit is 200 buck for 499 you can buy one way way better! its an 8 track with effects and 40 gig storage, mic pre amps noise gate awesome! i looked at them today in boston and left empty handed though!

  • panning is when you send the signa,or sound to one side l or r for example you can pan rythum guitar to left and lead right or drums left and bass right. etc.

  • does anyone know if i can use a bass guitar on the DP-004?

  • Can anyone explain how to PAN or what its for even.

  • The pan control moves the signal between left and right in the stereo field. For instance, if you're playing back track one through monitor speakers, turn the pan control all the way to the left and you'll only hear the track out of the left speaker. In the center position the signal will be evenly split between the left and right speakers.

  • That sound to me like your explaining Balance.......is it just another word for balance??

  • Yes, basically. That's a good way to put it: the pan function controls the balance. I'm sure there's a more technical definition than that, but that is the practical application of that control knob on the device.

  • So the Pan feature only comes into play during Playback im assuming. It isnt used During recording? and tyvm for the help.

  • Pan will also control the balance of a track during recording, although I think that most people record to right and left, and then pan during mixing/mastering.

  • do you know if I can playback one track and record another at the same time? (with this)

  • @moevans2

Yes, you can play back tracks while recording to a new track.

  • @moevans2 thats the whole point of multitrack recording lol

  • I wish someone would make a vid o how to PAN. aweosme looking unit, but the pan feature i dont understand at all.

  • same what does pan even mean??

  • 8-track is better.

  • screw that, im stickin with casette

  • yes moving mechanical parts are always better.

  • HI

if i linked it up to an ipod and recorded a backing track/song to it then later on wanted to layer vocals over the top of the song is it possible?
