Paradoxically no ego wants what it really is; self annihilation. But rather stuff like bliss, inner peace, the ability to bend a spoon with your mind, or whatever. All that is irrelevant to awakening and more about having a nice human trip. Simple as that.

to me it isn't thinking, its a being. And when thought comes in I can spot it and go back to the being. that is important to know when the mind is active and when its not. My litle exercise for me is not at all thinking its being. the exercise helps me find the state of being. That is a valid point. But then also, HIS enlightenment is YOUR enlightenment too. The only way you can know if he is enlightened is to be enlightened. If you are enlightened you will see enlightenment everywhere. You probably won't even give a damn if anyone else can see perfection in everything. Truth will always be truth no matter if we abide under it or if we are completely ego-based.

to me it isn't thinking, its a being. And when thought comes in I can spot it and go back to the being. that is important to know when the mind is active and when its not. My litle exercise for me is not at all thinking its being. the exercise helps me find the state of being. I pretend to die and then look what is beond it and the only thing i see at that point is silence or being, no thought at all.
