  • This song just goes so well with the game

  • Whenever I listen to this song i always think of the credits of Dragon Age lol

  • BIOWARE failed with Dragon Age 2.

seriously they could make GOTY if they've done Dragon Age 2 properly. sigh.

    now it goes to Skyrim.

The GOTY in 2013 will be definitely Dragon Age 3.

I said it will be released in 2013 cause they are busy with Mass Effect 3 in 2012.

and probably it takes couple of months to finish the game. so it should come around between 2012 November or 2013 February.

  • I personally preferred Da2 's Combat, higher quality video, better audio, and how many fewer glitches it had BUT Da:O 's Story, characters, and how they executed it's events such as (spoiler) The death of the arch demon, Alistair's time as king, Morrigan informing you of how you can spare someone while killing the arch demon and her having to leave, and how they managed to make the characters feel real. Also Morrigan leaving + which hunt wasn't enough closure for me+I didnt care for da2 chars.

  • @Dubpocalypse How they executed -events- Was amazing.

  • I don't hate this song. I just hate pop punk being a theme to a fantasy RPG game.

  • Unexpected but somehow fitting song is unexpected.

  • I had a fangasm when this song came on cause I felt like I finished watching a great movie, plus the song is pretty relatable to the game. :D

  • Just found out the lead singer is the actor from fight club and panic room

    mind = blown

  • Let's face it, Bioware make the best games, end of story.

  • Epic song,Epic Game,nuff said

    <3

  • I really hate that this version isn't on iTunes. I mean, crap, it's in the game, so why not the album?

  • There was not nearly enough conceptual artwork in the end credits. The same stuff recycles over and over - kinda disappointing.

  • @OroborusFMA Yeah, critise the credits, theres no other reason to critise this game anyway :P

  • @Aearian It's a great game, I didn't say it wasn't. Are you?

  • This has my vote for best video game ending(including credits) and coming in second is the end of Halo: Reach. (main character you play as fights to the death and you get to play it out?! F yeah)

  • WHEN I HERD THIS SONG AT THE END OF THE CREDITS, THIS GAME BECAME MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIMES

  • Comment removed

  • i hope they make a movie of this game. i'd personally go and see every freaking screening.

  • I finished this yesterday, it was amazing.

Though when Morrigan explained her offer, I spat out my milk.

  • theres so many nice moments in this game, epic

  • You know.. even though Origins is better than 2.. and was different story about a guy named Hawke.. It was still very good.. and even the Credits song is great and fits the story as well.. I don't know why people hated 2 so much.. Bioware was trying something new and I liked it.

  • @THExINDEFIN1TE People hated DA 2 because they were expecting it to be like DA: O. Atleast that's what I think. Too many people treat Dragon Age 2 as a failure just because it's different than the first game. Personally I believe with Dragon Age 2 (as with any other sequal) you have to treat it as it's own game, play it, and then base your opinion off of that, not solely DA: O. As with most sequals (movies, games, etc.) if you go and try to compare it to the first, you'll end up dissapointed.

  • @SpikeDawg45 People disliked DA 2 because the dungeons were way overused. DA: O mostly had different areas each place. DA 2 just pretty much took a dungeon and switched it around. Its a good game and I like it, but I prefer DA O just for that fact.

  • Seven Darkspawn were killed in the making of this video.

  • An epic ending to an epic game.

  • IMO the only canon ending is whichever ending you get.

  • Wouldn't be EPIC for listening to the whole song you get an achievement?

Achievement Unlocked "This Is War" 100G

  • @caraflamingo i think the cannon ending is (if youre a female noble and choose to be in a relationship with him) doing morrigans ritual, so she can have the baby. not only does that baby have king's blood in him when alistair dies from the ~taint~ but it also has the soul of an Old God in it, from the Archdemon, Old Gods are benevolent and powerful spirits, fucking sweet :D I think that may be canon, but i could be wrong. That's what makes the game so amazing! You get to make it yours :)

  • Love this game, ultimate sacrifice best ending :)

  • This is the greatest game EVER. Period.

  • I have three words to describe this game: Best Freakin Game Ever. Oops, thats four!

  • Bioware FTW.

  • Seven barbarians attempted to swoop down on Alistair.

  • DAO and DAO:A were epicest games ever.. The feeling was beyond awesome when you finished and saw the credits with the epic music.. Dragon Age 2 however failed... Epicly!

  • @metsuri18

    Multisign!

I really felt how much time and passion was put into DAO and DAA, and how much the short developing time crippled DA2. Hopefully Bioware will take that as a lesson for DA3.

  • When i saw someone called "Alistair Duncan" in the credits i smiled. Jojo

    :)

  • The part that starts at around 4:30 is not the same song. It's a song called "100 Suns".

  • Das ist so episch ja?

  • Das is so episch ja?

  • This was such an epic ending. I'm pretty sure it's my favorite ending to a game. Final Fantasy X would've been it, but that took a turn straight down south at the end.

  • not a huge 30 seconds fan but this song really works with Dragon Age storyline. Bioware wins again

  • I'm sorry but nothing truly tops the ending of ME 1, normandy flying against the planet and then Faunts... absolutely perfect

  • It's weird that a lot of you guys are not seeing how this song fits with the game. Before this game even came out, this song was featured in the trailer. They were super intertwined. I was pretty bummed that I DIDN'T hear the song sooner while playing.

Seriously, just take a look! /watch?v=-D5wTYmcBX4&feature=related

  • I was pretty shocked to hear this song playing in such a serious game..Not that its a bad song. I actually enjoy it..I love beating a game, and being rewarded with a really epic song that you can just lay back and relax to, after those weeks of busting your ass off destroying everything..

God, I was so exhausted at the end, I was actually glad to sacrifice myself.

Best RPG game I have EVER played since Zelda. I can say that now.

  • Eh...I think it's inappropriate. That ending was so epic, I needed moar orchestra, not this. It does fit okay; but, I don't see any reason not to use a song that fits perfectly.

  • Dragon Age is one of those games you spend so much time with you even feel like watching the credits. I'm not really into 30 seconds to Mars or alternative rock in general, but this song really fits the ending!

  • 7 darkspawn dislike this song

  • @codywold lol

  • I gotta admit it took me a while to like this game! I am the biggest mass effect fan you can be and when I started playing this I was not to impressed! Boy was I wrong!!! This game is as epic as mass effect well worth playing! Bioware you guys are gods!!!...

  • so do you get this song once it reaches voice cast coz mine played the dragon age theme or something help please?

  • @CharlotteEmily09 Yes, this song plays after the theme. This video a plain capture of the credits, sound included. No additional sound was added. It should start at the same point as shown here.

  • @AllycatLeo THANK YOU! hopefully i wont have to wait to long for it heheh

  • noticed a couple of mass effect actors in the cast, mark meer, Micheal beattie. Nice.

  • @MichelleFMA Me too. LOL ='l

  • I swear I never had this song at the end of mine playthrough. but it was such a long time ago however. Dragon Age actually made me listen to 30STM LOL :D

  • even bether u can make a lot of movies

  • even bether u can make a lots of movies

  • @MichelleFMA its a good game they should make a world of warcraft like game of this it would realy sell good

if u did it the same and let peaple buy cds to play it

  • i stil say the same if u made a movie like this like how to train your dragon is a good computer movie so if u would find guys to make that movie i would surly pay to see it i swear to god this i a great chance find the peaple u need and make the movie u could make lots of mony im sure it would be playd evhrywere just like how to train your dragon

  • i never would have thought it before playing dragon age, but somehow at the end of the whole thing this song just seemed to fit so well

dangit I wish I could lose my memory just so I could play it again from scratch!!! xD

  • @MichelleFMA I know exactly how you feel, you become so attached to your companions and the storyline. It was a great journey with the grey wardens. Sadly thats all goin to end in Dragon Age 2. This and Heavy Rain will be my all time fav games

  • I think this song is really good for this game. A lot of people are saying it isn't, and that's their opinion, but I think it is. <3

  • A good ending theme, but I still think ME1 has the best ending theme.

  • i mean anyone it would be so sweet

  • i said it before and i wil keep saying it make a movie in the same style like the hd trailers

  • @lolgod10 You mean me? I don't think I could make it. Unless I knew how to use the cinematics tool in the toolset. Like this guy who made this to show his mod.

This is prolly the best DA video I've seen. Of course I use the mod since when I found it, long ago.

    watch?v=J7sfmEl7FAA

  • @lolgod10 The game is over 50 hours long how in gods name can they make a movie without cutting out a lot of the story

  • @demonicjak13 Prolly like they are going to do with Mass Effect. Setting the story in that universe but not trying to tell the story of what we play in the game. (I hope that's what they do with ME)

  • @AllycatLeo It's going to be about the first contact war with the turians

  • @demonicjak13 but of those 50 hours your fighting, leveling up and doing side quests for about 48/49 hours of it so if they just do just the story (battle at ostagar, gathering allies, lands meet, night before, and the battle of denirum) putting in some fights they'd get at least a 2 hour movie from it

  • @demonicjak13 make more than one movie duh

  • I just finished my first Playthrough of everything Dragon Age contains.

After my Elf saved Ferelden against the archdemon and the mother, saved a dwarf from an ugly monster in the deeps of Amgarrak he left this world with his beloved Morrigan.

    I really can't deny that I cried :°)

It will be a hell of a time till Dragon Age2.........

  • holy sh*t. bioware is the creators of four of my favorite games ever, and now i just realized that they included one of my favorite songs in the credits of one of these favorite games... i think i am in love :P

  • a good credit sound track is what makes you feel good after you finish a game...

ME and ME2, Portal and DAO have the best ending soundtracks...

  • im going to make a 3-d music video of this song once i get the software. itll be my first project! i love this song so much!

  • I really love this song.

    I cried. So hard.

  • Alistair should have sang this song during his speech before the war!

  • GOD DAMNIT I LOVE THIS SONG

  • I hate this song, where the 'i am the one' part?

  • @MADH1GHLAND3R That's the beginning of the Credits but I have it as the music for another video, check it out! "Gladiator - I am the One" - watch?v=ee0gtLvjbWg

  • Don't listen to the haters. It's a lovely song and especially fitting if you chose The Ultimate Sacrifice ending.

  • A friend of mine who has beat Dragon Age says he never heard this song during the credits. Does he need to get a specific ending or what?

  • @regular90 No. The song will play to whatever ending. He just needs to let it roll. Credits starts with another music. It plays "I Am The One" first. Later it plays "This is War" - (check my vid, that's the point where it starts.)

  • @regular90 I played this game manytimes over and it never played this song. only developers own made music.

  • @Paskakatiska This is entirely captured in game, music included. That is the part where it plays. Only in the credits and after the first credits song. It is also in one of the game Trailers but only here the song is complete in its full extension.

  • @AllycatLeo Aye, now I had the nerve to listen the whole credits music =p

  • This is the shit. Anyone who says otherwise can get bent. Doesn't fit in the game but it does fit in the credits after playing 30-40 hours to get there.

  • @SuperMathsBeaver dude play the game yeah it does

  • @Niwa300 I have, and it doesn't.

  • @SuperMathsBeaver then u obviously didnt pay attention to the game

  • @Niwa300 Sorry I must have missed the bit where American rock fits in with magic and elves.

  • @SuperMathsBeaver Hmm.. better than that Engglish rock they put into Ladyhawke, the movie. LOL... Alan Parson's biggest fail. And the theme was so beautiful!

  • @SuperMathsBeaver

The lyrics fit the storyline somewhat,

  • listening to this song when u do the ultimate sacrifice is even better!! Saddens me alot

  • A very inspiring song. It sends out the message that fighting for what you believe is actualy a good thing.

  • may the war be resumed in DA 2 woooooooot!

  • Alistair is the real hero of Dragon Age!

  • This is my favourite band and this song made me buy the game... I will be proud to listen to my favourite song after I finish one of the best games ever! It's the moment of truth and the moment to lie. It's the moment to live and the moment to die!

  • You must see the following : After finishing the game you will have just a different mood , then this song probably fits .

In my opinion this is rubbish ...

  • i felt like crying when i beat this game, i truly experienced adventure when playing this :) aha, aaaawesome game, and i got so so teary during the ending scene where everybody lines up, telling you this is the last battle, and stuff, and it was a great run and stuff lol, omg amazing game, i recommend it to everybody, and get awakening along with it, just beat awakening today, :) ending wasn't as sad but it was still okay x)

  • Is this song actually used in the real game?

Because it doesn't exactly fit the game in my opinion. I mean, I think of metal when I see the game. OR maybe "From Yesterday".

  • @DraigonBoy In the credits. This video is a plain capture of the credits with original sound that plays during the rolling screen. It starts with "I'm the One" and "This is War"...

  • @DraigonBoy its the them for the game watch the trailers

  • @DraigonBoy Actually it fits the game perfectly...Watch the sacred ashes trailer

  • bioware is just plain epic at writing game stories.

  • @toughtguynumberone Maybe it would not fit, but I'd say that the song on the trailers, such as this one, and "This is the new Shit" from Marylin Manson made the game, for me, just that much more interesting to play and try.

  • @Clock83131

"This is the new Shit"? Not a quite beneficial theme for a gametrailer.

  • @toughtguynumberone I have that trailer in my bonus CE DVD. I might upload it if it's not tubed yet. It's a cool song and fits the trailer alright.

  • @toughtguynumberone Sure, maybe I'm the only one who thinks that, but I thought it made so much sense.

Knowing Dragon Age to be made as the successor of Baldur's Gate, This is the new shit made sense, since this is, in fact, the new shit!

Using metal makes it look newer and darker. This is how I thought of it. More mature, better and new.

  • @toughtguynumberone I think that's better they left it that way, cuz this song is not what I like to listen on a game... Actualy I don't like it at all...

  • @toughtguynumberone

just search youtube for: violaence trailer dragon age. its an awseome trailer realy fitting the overall theme of the video.

  • @toughtguynumberone i think your the only one in this video who commented that you dont like 30 seconds to mars and i think their song this is war fits in the credits of dragon age origins.

  • @gabeflackes0527

    wich is saying something

  • I had listened to this song right after I beat the game for the 3rd time, and this time I sacrificed myself. It just made me sad. Thinking about it. Lol. Video games are so weird after a while one seems connected with them, as if their world becomes your world.

  • The music is one of the sole reasons of beating the game. It's SO rewarding. You just killed a dragon, you deserve some awesomeness!

  • GODAMN I NEED TO BEAT THIS GAME!!!

  • OMFG, i never got to beat this game, but man, when i decided to watch the credits (a little while after ostagar) just the first like 30 seconds made me jazzed about beating the game, but then i got stuck :[

I am determined to beat it, but just later

  • @OiShawnyBoy

You realy should try and beat it some day, after the first time i did it, i was like AGAIN :P just to see what else was waiting in store for me. i have played it about 4,5 times now and i keep getting new stuff to see. But in my first play through i sacrificed my warden and i was realy blown away about how a character in a game could influence the way i feel about him, and thats where i think bioware hit the spot :D

  • @animalruless

    @animalruless

    @animalruless

i know exactly what you mean! i just did that today. sacrificed my character that is. it was my first time playing it the full way through.

i swear when morrigan left, and after i had decided i was going to sacrifice myself and had to say goodbye to my party... i felt so attached to the game.

then the end sequence was so epic. from the final cutscenes to the credits.

call me a complete loser but this game is amazing.

  • @jaredisthebomb No my friend, you're only human. I loved Neverwinter Nights, but this.. The story here is legendary, I actually thought about my char's when I wasn't playing. Only other games that have done that are some of the FF games and Mafia.

  • most awesome'est' game everz!

  • Great vid. Don't call your self an RPG fan if you don't play DAO...

Here's how to max all your stats out (Attributes, Skills, Spells) to Level 4 since the beginning of the game: watch?v=zopos1B6Elc

  • can u play on the same story again?

  • @XxshoverbxX Not sure what you mean exactly but I'd say yes, even with the same char.

Need some attention when recreating the same char (same name), like saving a copy of the screenshots somewhere out of Bioware/DA folder. They will vanish when you recreate the char.

  • @AllycatLeo ok

  • @AllycatLeo I think he means if you are alive at the end if you can do side quests after the blight

  • @TheZeide Hmm...most sidequests become inaccessible once you enter the Landsmeet chapter and then, the new ones too when you reach the Final quest. So, I'd say no. The only thing we can play after the blight, with the end-game-saved, is DLC's but it clearly states that is sort of "flashbacks". I.E., it doesn't matter if you sacrificed your warden, you'll be able to play with him still.

  • @AllycatLeo Reply to him not me... I've already beaten the game I know lol

  • I just beat this game less than 5 minutes ago and I just had to hear this song again. Freaking best song in the whole damn world ladies and gentleman.

  • Awesome song and game. Well done Bioware + 60 seconds to Mars.

  • This song reminds me of alistair.

  • same here :P

  • @MrKaaarl

    Because of the faggoty?

  • @toughtguynumberone Probably

  • @MrKaaarl Tell me about it. And it makes me wanna cry because in my game he died :/

  • @tcenter1005 i know! in my game, alistair sacrificed himself and i was like"NO!!! you can't do that!" on my second playthrough, i made him king and i was his mistress. on the third time i plan for us to stay wardens.

  • @toddyjenkins in my game Leliana loves me, Alistair is jealous, So is Morrigan LOL and Zevron is dead, ETC.

  • @power2296 Poor Alistair! lol. I need the expansion pack soooo bad! But, it is a good game though.

  • @Vampire8Goddess Awakening is awesome! IDK if you have it but if you don't. get it

  • @toddyjenkins i really tried hard to do that- it didn't work out. basically you have to have him hardened, my anora the queen, and accept morrigan's offer right?

  • @tcenter1005 Staying Wardens. Do NOT harden him! He will be ticked if he isn't king! If he isn't hardened, he will be relieved he isn't king. You have to tell Anora you will support her being Queen. If you aren't a City Elf, Vaughan will be in a prison cell, Arl Howes dungeon. Let him out, and he will help yout odds at the Landsmeet. Zevran will get mad, I mean, Vaughan HATES elves. Accept Morrigan's offer, if you both want to live. And, fairly happy ending, to stay Wardens. Tell me if it helps.

  • @toddyjenkins that makes a lot of sense, but i'm almost positive that if alistair is not hardened then at the end he turns into a drunk no matter what happens. i might be wrong, but that's what i thought

  • @tcenter1005 I read that on the internet. I am not sure. I have a Dalish elf, and I didn't harden him when his personal quest with Goldanna came. I am playing to see what happens when I make Anora queen. Because an elf and Alistair becoming King isn't a happy ending. But what is really annoying is the circle tower. I can't remember which island to go to first. *sniffle*

  • @MrKaaarl Tell me about it. And it makes me wanna cry because in my game he dies :(

  • i love the song. its so powerful. in lyrics and atmosphere. the people who judge it as "emo screamo" dont even KNOW what emo is. this is rock, if you want emo go listen to self-proclaimed emo bands. just because this isnt your recycled RnB garbage doesnt mean its a crap song. this song has a point to it, the lyrics have a point and its unique as far as rock goes. this song a greater than anything you "haters" will listen to. infact, its probably too good for you to even listen to. so dont "diss"

  • @HyuugaCharlie I agree with you, Charlie!

Well, I am a musician, song writter, no biggie but I'm very critic about music and 30secs to Mars makes great songs. (see my oldest video here, though it's brazilian rock, some people like it!)

If people call it "emotional hardcore", so be it but they are still great songs. What about Led Zep, my all time favourite? No one screams like Robert Plant! Are they "emo" too?

  • screaming? i see it as more jared's voice just has a searing, no-holds-barred sound. he doesnt really scream, but he just sings his lungs out, and it has that power to it, the feeling inside when you want to scream something, i feel it when i hear the songs, times when i wanted to scream but couldnt or shouldnt, but jared does it for me, it releases that emotion. 30 seconds to mars new album is a coming of age. they transcended with this album, they are truelly great

  • @HyuugaCharlie

    totaly with that statement :D

  • @HyuugaCharlie lol i see no reason to rip on RnB i mean, this is a great song but RnB isn't bad music either, aha, i love rock and RnB but seriously, all music has songs with good lyrics at times, and all music has bad songs to, if i wanted to prove it i could post a link to a horrible rock song right now, RnB and Rock has their goods and bads.

  • @HyuugaCharlie the funny part is EMO isent even screaming its like good charlet and stuff 30 seconds to mars is EMO but is actually good

  • @HyuugaCharlie Stranger, you just made my day ^_^

  • @HyuugaCharlie

This is what the game is all about and I love it! It's inspirational and makes you feel motivated ...... A Brave New World!

  • @HyuugaCharlie This song is not powerfull, nothing against it but dragon age+emo song= shit, seriously, they shoud have used an epic music or something like that, not this

  • @baguiodequalidade96 this song isnt emo. listen to the lyrics, its about fighting a war and WINNING.. theres nothing emo in that.

you need to brush up on what emo is before you brand everything as emo.

shit would be only in your opinion, i dont care if you think its shit cause i think its a good song. but regardless, its nothing like an emo song and it fits the game perfectly, and clearly the people who MADE the game agreed that the song matched THEIR game perfectly or they wouldnt use it. duh

  • Very best RPG all time, simply cannot believe how they can make such a great RPG, maximum respect towards BioWare, best RPG makers ever!

Very good song as well, totally fits it. Simply perfect! :)

  • this song is perfect for this game dragon age is awsome

  • I went out and bought this like 3rd day after release, never played anything by Bioware, I thought it sucked into I understood it and acually got into it. This game was amazing and the Credit song by 30STM was a great choice. I sold the game the day after I beat it xD shouldve just rented it

  • I thought this song was a brilliant choice to showcase in Dragon Age: Origins. This game helped me get over watching my Patriots get embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs. I listen to this song very often on my MP3 player.

  • I agree with starcraftbox I think Chosen Ones by Dreamevil seems very fitting although This is war isn't bad.

  • Totally agree man that song is really good and well suited to this game
