  • i am a young rasta and i still have a lot to learn... can anyone tell me which book in the bible is the book of life?

  • @str8outofVA95 In the Old Testament, the Book of Life is the book or muster-roll of God, in which all the people who are considered righteous before God are recorded forever. God has such a book, and to be blotted out of it, signifies death. Even the tears of men are recorded in this Book of God. "Every one that shall be found written in the book.. shall awake to everlasting life". (wikipedia)

  • What makes this a great sonfg for me: text in its simpliest but purest and truest form. Timeless...always love this song... One love to you guys for this God inspirational song...

  • i would like to start this comment by saying i am a dyed-in-the-wool athiest. that said, i can't even being to speak to what this song means to me on a spiritual level.

just on a musical level, the harmony is beautiful. i don't believe in an afterlife, but if there is one, this song is as close as we as humans can come to experiencing it on this earth.

  • @openhead

respect, but does that wool cover your eyes perchance? One of the battle fronts in this world right now is faith, others are things like family, and gender reversal/confusion. Ask yourself how did you come to the decisions you have? is it really from your own experience and constant questioning or is it being controlled from the rooms of the powerful. This song is an expression of a thing, it is not the real thing...brother/sister i encourage you to keep questioning this life

  • @openhead there is no begining and no end

  • The drop at the beginning of the tune makes it an instant classic, the bassline with those horns. Woiii. Fiiiiiiiiiire!

  • i saw a trio of 12 yr olds that sung this song and they wud put these guys out of business if they still wer in it

  • @Nikshal You clearly know nothing about music and Reggae in particular to make such a rediculous comment not even worthy of a response really.

    I need say nothing else.

  • Mad tune.

But just to point out, the land IS ETHIOPIA, and that is why the king of the promised land(a.k.a. Ethiopia) is Jah (a.k.a Halie Selassie). Mount Zion, however, is in Israel. I've actually seen it, it has centenary olive trees growing on its slopes, and in winter when covered in a blanket of snow (yes, snow!!!) is a breathtaking view. But, it is not a mount, or a mountain, it is actually a hill =)

  • That land is Zion. Not no physical land. That land is far far away. We can get to Israel or Ethiopia in a hours. It takes a lifetime to get to Zion.
