i would like to start this comment by saying i am a dyed-in-the-wool athiest. that said, i can't even being to speak to what this song means to me on a spiritual level.

just on a musical level, the harmony is beautiful. i don't believe in an afterlife, but if there is one, this song is as close as we as humans can come to experiencing it on this earth.

Ask yourself how did you come to the decisions you have? is it really from your own experience and constant questioning or is it being controlled from the rooms of the powerful. But just to point out, the land IS ETHIOPIA, and that is why the king of the promised land(a.k.a. Ethiopia) is Jah (a.k.a Halie Selassie). Mount Zion, however, is in Israel. I've actually seen it, it has centenary olive trees growing on its slopes, and in winter when covered in a blanket of snow (yes, snow!!!) is a breathtaking view. But, it is not a mount, or a mountain, it is actually a hill =)
