  • Definately Christianity in a nutshell. If Christians told it how it is, they'd never convert a single person. But like all slimmy salesmen, they try to convince you they have exactly what you need, but they're selling a bunch of crap. Why do they do this? So you can stink to high heaven like just like them.

  • This video is bullshit.

  • @BronyEditor Christianity is bullshit

  • @BronyEditor "Bullshit"

Is that not the logic Christianity follows. Believe in a Loving God or Burn in Hell Forever. Is that Not True...

  • Suppose you were homeless and hungry, and walked by a church whom's members invited you to come in , eat, and rest until you can get back on your feet. Would you keep walking?

  • @4842Chuck Yes. I'd do the same if the said church was Satanic.

  • @HettesKvek I don't walk by Satanic churches and doubt if I did there would be charitable members standing outside their wrought iron gates offering me anything.

  • @4842Chuck Of course I would go in. But why would the building these people are in have to be a church? It could also be a school or a homeless shelter or just someones house. Good people can be found anywhere.

  • @TheFoemp I can readily, and easily show you several Christian sponsored shelters and service organizations, you're going to have to work hard finding one elsewhere.

  • @4842Chuck That's not my point. Why do the specifics of the building in which these people who offer food and shelter matter? I'm just saying I would not be inclined to enter that church more or less than any other building.

  • and dont give me that theory of Darwinism crap... they teach this junk in school but yet its only theory(unproven) something created us

  • @jimmiejay86 lol , nothing can be fully proven 100% , gravity is still a theory , but evidence supports Evolution yet the Bible is a load of shit , i rest my case

  • @jimmiejay86 Lmfao, Darwinism CRAP? So you believe that theory is crap, yet you believe the world was created by inbreed’s who were first created from a rib? May you “God” have mercy on your children’s lives.

  • there is good and evil we all came from one starting point. sugar coat it all you want to fit you fucked up lives

  • its funny how people love to demoralize other people even when those people have done nothing to you but try and help.... theres really no need for all this crude humor mocking a person who really set the stage for whats right in the world (jesus). only thing ive learned from athiests is to believe in what you can phsyically calculate and curse the rest. physics has proven the universe is infinite. but your brain only want to except what garbage society pours down your throats.

  • @jimmiejay86 Jesus turned to a slave and told him to return to his master You really, REALLY, want to tell me he is right for this world. Atheism: Not having imaginary friends. Supporting the known with facts. Researching and experimenting with the unknown. Not speculating on what "could" be, only what is. Not responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths since the year 0 (0 CE, Common Era) Not responsible for fighting in Africa Not responsible for raped children youafailedabortion
  • Love it. Thank you!

  • Genius!

  • Beautiful

  • Nothing he said makes any sense. Christ did not save all mankind from a fictional man made hell. He saved all mankind from eternal sleep in our graves. Wether this man believes it or not, he will evetually be with our Father 1Tim 4:9-10.

  • @SwordofManticorE What you say doesn't make any sense. Christ did not save mankind from a fictional god made hell. Dan is trying to save Christians from ignorance. Dan was just reinterpreting it to make his point. Just like all preachers do for their message. When you understand his point then you understand that you can live life without fear. Fear of an imaginary friend called god. You also are able to see the real beauty of life without god blinders. Free yourself educate yourself.

  • @LongTimeAtheist What you dont understand is this. Any preacher who preaches the turn or burn doctrine of eternal torture in hell is a false teacher. It is because of this evil and insane teaching that has lead many ppl walking away laughing at our belief. I am both free and educated. Free to believe in my Father, and educated to know that all men will be with Him in their du appointed time.

  • @SwordofManticorE stfu you stupid cow

  • @DBARNZY805 It is because of your lack of respect and love is the reason why there is war and hate. Rude ppl like you have made this cesspool of a world.

  • @SwordofManticorE No, it's because of evil LIARS like you. See the world isn't really a "cesspool" it's more like a bowl of punch and people like you are the turds that float in it and ruin it for everyone else. Not to mention that you preach a false gospel.

  • Ridicule is the weapon of ignoramuses.

  • This is Sam Harris not Dan Barker!

  • @patlecat Time you had your eyes tested. This is Dan Barker. Sam is much younger...

  • yep

  • Listen to the collective mind cheer. Oh, how smart they are. They got the reference. They understood the parable. Ugh.

  • @AndyAce83 "Listen to the collective mind cheer"

A crowd responds to a public speaker's point, with laughter. What upset you about that?

  • @shawnswander - current understanding of the cosmos suggest time and all matter were created at the moment of the big bang, the concept of before or nothing might be useless since before is an application of time and nothing needs to be balanced by something both of wich might not have been present.

The big bang does not describe an explosion, but rather an expansion/inflation. Like the inflating of a balloon. - it should have been called the big expansion. Furthermore it says nothing about wh

  • @shawnswander -

no one is claiming "in the beginning there was nothing" -

no one is claiming "nothing exploded into everything" -

no one is claiming we "evolved from some mud" -

and none of these things have anything to do with atheism.

    Got more strawman?

  • I would call the cops

  • Lolooooloololololioololollilolololololopololollololololilokolilioolo

  • Call the cops on that crazy parent

  • Modern humans have been around for about 200,000 years. The Jesus fairytale is only 2,000 years old. The people who lived before Jesus would not have had to go through God's Lab-Rat test. because Jesus had not existed up to that point. They were not given the ultimatum of " Believe in Jesus and go to heaven or don't believe and go to hell forever. Did god simply give those people a free pass into heaven?

  • @bucksmasher1 "Modern humans have been around for about 200,000 years"

What evidence is there that this is true?

"Did god simply give those people a free pass into heaven?"

Actually if you read the bible before you attacked it you would know what criteria they were judged by and what the punishment was for them.

    "Jesus fairytale"

43 prophecies thousands of years old coming true to bring the messiah isn't a fairy tale.

  • @ShawnSwander Jesus Fairytale ,Yep that's all it is. You have to be an idiot to belive a story in which God the father looked down from heaven and spotted a babe named Mary then split himself in 2 and sent the holy spirit part of himself down to screw her and then she gets knocked up and gives birth to God's illegitimate son Jesus who is also God. Only the human imagination could come up with such bullshit.Jesus dying to forgive mans sins also make no sense.

  • @bucksmasher1 yep since that's not what the bible says happened you would have to be an idiot to think that. Only a human (like you) could come up with that twisted version of the truth. It makes no sense because it came from the lips of an anti-christ. The good news is your blasphemy was fortold 2000 years ago in 2 peter 3. So thanks for helping my God fulfill his prophecy. You are strengthening Christianity from the outside. May mercy and grace fall upon you. Amen.

  • @ShawnSwander Let's see....Isn't Jesus a part of God? God the father ,God the Holy Spirit and God the son Jesus. Now since Jesus is god he never really died did he? After all you can't kill god. The whole thing would have been nothing move than a Las Vegas style stage act. Isn't god supposed to know everything ? the past, present and future ? If so he'd have alredy known that Jesus was going to get nailed to some boards so why bother? I know why, because he loves us.What a load of idiotic shit.

  • @bucksmasher1

    Nice straw man.

"After all you can't kill [Jesus]."

Doesn't say that in the bible.

Jesus was fully human he could suffer as any human does he could die like any human. If you don't understand the concept of the significance of Jesus's death I can help illustrate.

It ended his Earthly ministry. This was the most clear way God has ever told us what he asks of us and Jesus only had about 3 years to teach us.

    It fulfilled prophecy.

It allowed sins to be forgiven...

  • @bucksmasher1

-allowed sins to be forgiven and explained clearly what the Lord asked of us and wanted of us.

-ended the old covenant and began a new one.

-allows us to empathize with God by showing us his humility.

-brought us the teachings of the NT, from which many earthly morals and laws are drawn.

" Isn't god supposed to know everything ?"

Yes if you read the gospels he did know it was coming and accepted it to save us.

    "so why bother?"

without it we were dead in our transgressions.

  • @ShawnSwander "-ended the old covenant and began a new one."

Which amounts to the statement "The eternal, objective, standard of morality - changed its mind". At which point any sane person walks away.

  • @ShawnSwander "-brought us the teachings of the NT, from which many earthly morals and laws are drawn."

That's just silly. NT does not present a single original point of morality. Read Confucius for example, to get a fairly good example of secular morality predating Jesus by many 100s of years while presenting a superior version of the golden rule for example. Jesus does present some original self-destructive ideals though, like love-thy-enemies.

  • @ShawnSwander "Jesus was fully human he could suffer as any human does he could die like any human."

So "death for a human" amounts to a 3 day vacation, followed by becoming the ruler of the universe? What a laugh.

  • @ShawnSwander "This was the most clear way God has ever told us what he asks of us"

He's not doing a very good job then, because I find the Jesus myth slightly less convincing than claims of the toilet monster.

    "It fulfilled prophecy."

    Or, it was made up.

"It allowed sins to be forgiven..."

The idea that murdering other people has moral implications is one of the peaks of human stupidity. It's the morals of blood revenge from desert nomads.

  • @ShawnSwander Lol you accuse someone of not having proof and then you make the statement "43 prophecies thousands of years old coming true to bring the messiah isn't a fairy tale." Name a single prophesy that has come true that was accurately predicted beforehand. You say that without going to the bible to talk about things written several thousand years ago (and updated almost yearly) and we'll see who has evidence.

  • I think that is a great offer. can I come to that basement and help you to torture your son?

and if you also have daughters that wold be just perfect. :)

  • 29 people have torture chambers

  • The Virgin Mary got knocked up by The Holy Ghost. I wonder if she was moaning " Oh God,Oh My God, Yes,Yes,Yes" while he was bonking her ? Comments anyone ?

  • @bucksmasher1

Most likely not. You know what god thinks about sex.

It is more likely that he impregnated her by striking lighting into her pussy. Just like that time when another virgin was impregnated by bullet during civil war.

  • This should be called 'Protestant fundamentalist Christianity in a nutshell' or more precisely 'Satisfactionary atonement in a nutshell', a doctrine that for the first 1000 years of Christianity noone knew anything about. You might want to compare it to Orhodox Christian view: watch?v=WosgwLekgn8

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I CANT BELIEVE YOU RETARDS BELIEVE IN RELIGIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, YOU DUMBASSES FELL FOR IT! YOU DUMBASSES FELL FOR IT! OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA I CANT BELIEVE WE HAVE MADE SO MUCH PROGRESS IN THE WORLD BUT THERE ARE STILL A HUMONGOUS GROUP OF RETARDED PEOPLE THAT BELIEVE IN INVISIBLE PEOPLE, GHOSTS, MAKING THINGS FLOAT! I MEAN HOLY SHIT, YOUR BOOK HAS AS MUCH VALIDITY AS HARRY POTTER! ALL RELIGIONS! HAHAH

  • @x420xColtonx420x

Except Harry Potter has good morals to teach.

  • Religion,no religion...people will follow stupidity anyway.

  • Fukken saved.

  • Are you infinite?

  • It's because human intentions modify the laws of nature.

Human intentions cause behavior and modify our brains over time. Want the studies? How does natural selection test intentions? They have no extension in reality.

  • Thank you for the credit and link to the original. This is a perfect example of how to utilize fair use to the benefit of both parties.

  • I love this man. lol

  • only thing i'd change is to have the guy say, "i went down and tortured myself so YOU don't have to go down there".

  • The third time I am watching it. Too good!

  • Nearly everything, 95% I'd say, that we discuss here on YouTube has been covered by each of us thousands of times. You want to see something new you have to go to the ground breakers.

I saw a program about silbling universes and dark flow not too long ago. First time I'd seen anything like that before. What I noticed is that everything I learned from my friend the phycisist held up. His science proves God whether this is the only universe or not. Efficient, essential, concurrent Causality.

  • Jesus comes to a man's door:

Jesus: "You have to let me in so I can save you!"

    Man: "Save me from what?"

Jesus: "From what I'll do to you if you don't let me in."

  • @blackkakari bullshit.

  • @jef108 What, simply stating in a different way the EXACT premise of Christianity is bullshit?

  • @blackkakari ...the exact premise of Christianity from the point of view of someone that has only the most superficial knowledge of it, and understands even less. (and watches too much mafia-tv:)

  • @jef108 It doesn't matter how superficial my knowledge of the Bible is. If it's primary tennent is "Obey unquestioningly or burn for eternity." it's no more than thuggish fear mongering. After making such an unwarrented, blantant threat like that, it can't be taken seriously. If I told you "Stop believing in God and worship ME, or I'll torture you to death." would you still respect anything else I had to say? No. Because that's using intimidation over logic.

  • @blackkakari it's not just your shallowness, it's your total lack of insight and understanding of the subject...but here I go again, replying to an obtuse comment by a not too bright adolescent..oh well...

  • @jef108 Right. I'm the one pointing out the problem with threatening people into believing in something and I'M the idiot? Amazing how religion can damage a brain to the point of seeing no problem with putting someone through an eternity of the worst possible punishment for not buying a baseless claim. Imagine if politics worked like that. Get help. You're out of your fucking mind.

  • @blackkakari as I said. no clue whatsoever. One last try: The eternity in hell they are speaking of is not a treat, not what God will bring on the "disbeliever". It is the natural conscequence of a life without God. Much the same as what Buddha said: worldly life is full of suffering, Nirvana is beyond this life, and to get there, one must "renounce the world". But I guess Buddha was an idiot as well, right? btw: in our western eyes He sometimes is considered an "atheist" Deity. :)

  • @jef108 Wait, so now you're saying there is no literal lake of fire where non-believers and other "sinners" burn for eternity? So you're saying it's just a metaphor? You must be getting desperate. The Bible is quite clear about the nature of Hell.

And I greatly respect Buddha (who's NOT a deity) as the wisest man to ever live. And something he was clearly against was blind faith, which is a virtue according to the Bible. You might as well compare George Carlin to Pat Robertson.

  • @blackkakari I'm honestly a little more curious what he meant when he said that hell was the natural consequence of a life without god. Consequence for what? What did I do to deserve such a punishment? god is the one who supposedly made me and then failed to provide an appropriate amount of evidence for his existence. Oh what's that? Eve ate from that tree of knowledge? Well who fucking cares she screwed up, why did god put that damn tree on earth anyway?

  • @Ingmatter By Biblical logic, you should be executed for a murder commited by your great great great great etc. grandfather. And if your curious what he meant; don't be. There is no real meaning. He completely changed his entire arguement and acted like the new one was what he was saying all along. If you fully understood his point and debunked it, he'd simply change it again. That's one of the many demented, senseless meathods religious people use to "win" a debate.

  • @jef108 "It is the natural conscequence of a life without God" < That's exactly what Dr. Dennis Polis wrote.

I'm of the opinion to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, that Christ's gift is for all men always, that none of us are excluded from eternity. For the 1 second I was out of my body I learned a great many things. God doesn't hold our wrongs here against us there, but we are aware of them. Some say they felt a sadness during their life review.

  • @blackkakari that is a pessimistic point of view and a straw man argument rolled together.

No one will follow you because you didn't have 43 prophecies come true foretelling your arrival, ministry, life, and death.

You don't have disciples who wrote prophecies that are still coming true today.

The bible doesn't say believe in God or go to hell. It says you will be accountable for the crimes you commit on earth and you will pay for them.

  • @blackkakari Yeah, when people think I can't have an opinion on this because I haven't subjected my brain to years of apologetics/bible study; it's like someone telling me I have to be a veterinarian and auto engineer to know that driving a small car is better city transportation than a horse drawn carriage.

  • @MrShysterme Well put.

  • @blackkakari I misspoke, since veterinary and engineering knowledge is actually helpful ;)

  • Natural law, or the perceived natural order of justice, is at the core of analytic jurisprudence and is in constant opposition to legal positivism, the denial of connections between law and morality. Natural law is a concept that suggests a code, law, or set of rights inherent to existence and quite distinct from human created legal systems. Difficult to codify, ideas of natural law, such as freedom and the right to pursue happiness, have greatly influenced nearly every legal system in the world

  • lol this is brilliant

  • this guy is fairly bright which begs the question how'd he spend a day in church let alone become a preacher, sounds suspicious; yeah I already know he said it made him feel good, but that's just it, here he is being critically smart what did he do, reincarnate from a slug?

  • @gr8vibes2 Statement of conversion. A logical fallacy. See Don Lidsey Archive list of logical fallacies. The Baptists represent the 20% of Christians in the USA that are fundamentalists. Their policy is that anyone can be a preacher. When I hear that term in this context I always know there was never anyone who ordained that person. I'm held accountable to the person who ordained me. I wouldn't trade my ordination for anything on earth.

  • @shizzleman8 Diversional fail. Explain the logic INSIDE this dude's head. He read the same bible he reads from today. Nothing has changed, but what went on in his head unless he's a phoney. Seeing that he's smart today, he couldn't have been too stupid before. So he's a phony until I hear something that I overlooked.

  • @gr8vibes2 He was never ordained. I think I just covered this for you about the Baptists. There is no educational requirement for being a "preacher". That's just it, that's why a statement of conversion doesn't make one an expert in the new thing over the old thing because he was never trained officially in the old thing. He's only arguing against what HE was before not what I am or what I stand for which is the truth in love. He's describing what HE used to be and preached from ignorance.

  • @shizzleman8 AGAIN, I never questioned how ANYTHING/ONE OUTSIDE THIS MAN'S HEAD allowed him to do or be anything. Reread.

  • brilliant!

  • I would definitely keep walking.

  • @janb214 I'd make a citizen's arrest.

  • The ring is symbolic of eternal love, as in a weddig ring. Yes, I actually do believe in and recognize symblols and their correspondence value to reality.

Shizzleman8 is a snoop dog thing showing my Jewish heritage, that I cut the covenant on the 8th day with my God. 8 is the lemniscate above the Magician's head, the 1st Tarot Card, infinity. It's the Levitcal rite of sacrifice of blood, the figure 8. Try law school for evidence.

  • @shizzleman8 so you've basically admitted that you believe in something because #1other ppl believed it a long time ago before there was any scientific research on the subject #2 you've fallen for government propaganda that's over 60yrs old and used for a war that never happened and #3 it's referenced in courtroom dramas shows on tv. and your SO proud of this complete ignorance and stupidity that you go out and brag about it to the world. seriously, your a fucking retard.

  • @largegrainsofsalt I believe in morals and they were around a long time ago.

If referring to me as a fucking retard is your testimony than you only have yourself as a client.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ROFLMFAO!!!

  • The biggest problem I had was understanding how a christian could believe in a place hotter than a volcano under the ground where God had people born going towards and Satan had all the advantages and yet this somehow was love and mercy. The prblem is, 99 percent fo Christians do not research where HELL came from. They buy this eternal torture lie because some bible twister told it to them. Minister man said it, t'must be true! God told him to, right??

  • ahh i was working on a cartoon along the same lines.

  • Best video EVER! xD

  • That is the perfect analogy for how crazy christianity is.

    Katalyzt

  • First I heard it as ..." and there's a furnace, and there's some cheese, and it's...horrible...!" Thought it was hilarious. What he actually said is still great, in a broader sense, but he really should have stuck with the "cheese" in my imagination :)

  • Would I keep walking? dude, I would run as fast as I possible could :o

  • sounds pretty old testament to me...nothin' to do with jesus' message. just the old fairytales.

  • @jef108 His son....was in the old testament?....his son has nothing to do with the Jesus message?....

  • @kehwa all this is just the twists created by Former preacher Dan Barker. he's trying to make a point about man's misunderstanding of god.

  • @jef108 oh, so now Dan Barker 'misunderstands' it? And you understand it? Out of 37000 denominations of christianity yóu are the true christian, the true scotsman, with the true understanding of what that book means? You have some special knowledge, some special ability to discern truth from a bronze age book of historical, homerian and biblical fanfiction and mythology?

Then do enlighten us and tell us where exactly mr Barker is wrong about your god and how you know this to be true.

  • @viridismonasteriense don't know about all that, but one thing is for sure: you misunderstood my comment. And why are you so angry and agressive, btw.? no life?

  • @jef108 why are you so quick to label any criticism against your beliefs as aggression? Martyr complex? You're quick to use the persecution card for no reason.

    How very christian of you.

I understood your comment perfectly. Now you're just distracting from actually providing evidence to back up your claims.

    How very christian of you.

'no life?' And an ad hominem to boot.

    How very christian of you.

All that's left now is a threat of hell and 'fool' & the package is complete!

  • @viridismonasteriense no reason? check your tone, dear. You sound like a sarcastic crusader. And you point your arrows at what you think christians are like? Do you own a real mirror? Take a good look in it, 'cause right now, you are using me for it.

  • @jef108 Why did you just avoid his questions? You Are using the persecution card. Also, heavily criticising something does not mean you're angry or aggressive. I think you're projecting.

"...point arrows at what you think christians are like?" Well it Is very religious to use the persecution card. I wouldn't say it's pointing arrows, it's more or less true. It is also very religious to avoid answering questions. But it would be nice of you to not follow that pattern.

  • @jef108 oh, now I'm the one persecuting you? 'pointing arrows' for fuck's sake. How messed up is your view of this debate? We are not the 'attackers'.

I know what christians are like. I've talked to plenty. You don't know me, so fuck your assumptions about me. I've read the bible. Have you?

No surprise: you won't respond to the actual topic of biblical doctrine. Again. When push comes to shove, when your claims are called out, you refuse to back it up.

    It's clear you're ignorant here.

  • @jef108 No, check yóur tone, *dear*, and think before you speak next time. Your arrogance is completely misplaced and your hostility as well. I think you're either fighting for the wrong team or lying about not being a christian.

What makes you so qualified about christianity? Who are you to judge me and on what grounds do you say I don't know anything about it? Because you say so? Because my criticisms don't gel with your preconceived notions of what you think christianity is about?

  • @viridismonasteriense Lol. Fucking nice. xD "How very christian of you" LMAO!!

  • @jef108 He was talking about Jesus....There isn't much difference in the message between the old testament and the new testament anyway. It's just delivered differently. "Believe in me or burn in hell."

  • @kehwa well, that is NOT what I hear Jesus say. To me he says: Love thy neighbour as thyself. Don't do to another what you would not have them do onto you. Honor your mother and father. Be simple, truthfull and loving. Do not kill, etc.. Now, are you going to tell me that if one does nót heed those "messages", that one will be happy. Do you think that people who consciously "dissobey" those "commands" are Happy? Personally, I don't believe that for a second. And I'm not even a Christian.

  • @jef108 But you consciously ignore 'do not love anything in this world but me', 'take no thought for the morrow', 'I came not to bring peace, but a sword, to set family-members against each other', 'submit to god', 'sell your possessions', 'everyone who doesn't believe in me is condemned and will burn in a lake of fire' 'Obey' 'Believe without seeing' 'Be gullible' And all the stuff in Revelations where jesus personally kills non-christians and the OT stuff which is THE SAME GUY.

  • @viridismonasteriense i'm not even going to attempt to reply to that. You're too far gone. take that as you will.

  • @jef108 I'm sure he's too far gone, and you're very christian-like to not answer his questions. Religious people like to find excuses for not answering, to them, annoying questions. Your "too far gone" is one such excuse which holds no value or meaning. I'd like to hear you answer his question though, either that or please explain what "too far gone" means and what bearing it has on the discussion.

  • @DukeTwicep dude, this is youtube. Who cares what ányone says here . it's all dribble.

you wanna be right, fine by me. Byebye.

  • @jef108 Well if you don't care then why do you respond to people? And if you don't care about what's true and what's not, then, again, why do you argue? But thanks for the freebie.

  • @DukeTwicep i can't help myself. I see a moronic comment, I just háve to say something. I should know better, I know. You're welcome, whatever it is your talking about.

  • @jef108 Evasion noted.

  • @DukeTwicep nope, just don't like to waste time & energy. Enjoy your intellectual masturbation.

  • @jef108 Evasion no. 2 noted

  • @jef108 So if you're not a christian, why are you so pitch perfect at mimicking one?

  • @viridismonasteriense because you don't know anything about it.

  • @jef108 How do you know he doesn't know anything about it? Aren't you presuming as much as you presume that he is presuming?

  • @jef108 Love thy neighbor? 10 commandments are in the old testament. Do unto others? that's been around before the bible was written. Honor your mother and father? Old Testament. You need to reread the bible...Lol...

  • @jef108 Jesus says if you don't believe and worship him, you burn in hell...

  • @kehwa he said that to you? ...never to me. So, even though i don't consider myself a christian, i love jesus. But if you don't, no skin of my back. You live the way you want to live, I live the way I want to live. Cheers. (btw, I never read the bible, not planning to either :))

  • @jef108 If you're going to make claims about the bible, at least know the facts correctly. If you don't plan on reading the bible, then don't make frivolous claims about it. If you don't believe in Jesus, Christians will say you burn in hell. At least most of them. Don't go spouting bigotries if you can't back it up.

  • @kehwa ok, I'm so sorry. It won't happen again, I promis.

  • @kehwa just saw you play the violin...pretty decent, I must say. Congratulations. Just goes to tell you that being a decent artist (musician) does not necessarily go together with a decent understanding of the religious nature of man...But I guess that's not your fault. Keep up the practice!

  • @jef108 You don't need to pull that shit on me. Religion is just an excuse to not find a cause. When you don't know your cause, you lose determination. I guess you've lost your determination.

  • @jef108 I read it 100 times, the New Testament anyway. I found out after I was an adult or really understood as an adult that I'm Jewish. Jesus is a Jewish Rabbi in case you didn't know. After my soul left my body in the middle of 1999 I stopped reading the Bible seriously. It's so hard to describe the experience, it supasses everything that's written about in the Bible and everywhere esle. David Garza's The Perfect Tear - 4 Track Manifesto < That's as close to rapture as I can find. Peace.

  • @shizzleman8 personal experience is always the only reference. Thanks for sharing. OM.

  • @shizzleman8 if you're interested, try reading "autobiography of a yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda. For me, this is the best I've read on a life of true extasy. (And he was also a Lover of Jesus.)

  • @jef108 Adi Da Samraj. Found his page on wiki after visiting your channel. "Spiritual Enlightenment". So often I get 'caught up' with life's foibles I miss out on what's truly important. In my own defense i called my son Jason yesterday. It was really good talking to him. He has a jeep that he doesn't drive because he won't go get his license. He was born on Halloween. Jason means Jesus. I know what Rapture is, most the time I live in religious ecstasy. R U familiar with Teresa of Avila?

  • @shizzleman8 a little, I know of her, a great mystic... I'll check her out:) ...yeah, the most difficult thing today is keeping the balance between a healthy spiritual life and a healthy worldly life. The world being the not so nice place it is these days... but Thank God for Grace! (excuse the pun:)) Truth, Simplicity, Love. That's all that matters.

  • @kehwa i kinda think its "believe and worship me, or burn in hell" cause thats alittle more petty than just believing in him, but thats just my opinion

  • @jef108 the very concept of hell did not exist in the old testament. It was only when this character of jesus, meek and mild, came on to the scene that eternal punishment in a lake of fire in the afterlife was invented for the crime of thought and disobedience. 'The basement' is purely a new testament invention.

  • @viridismonasteriense ach so?..:) well, in any case, all organised religion is invented to (try to) control humanity/society. I guess the concept of hell etc. is as good a tool as any. Who knows, it might even be true – as a metaphore for the suffering one gets onto oneself when you harm or disrespect other people. (or the dissobey rules invented by powercrazed lunatics) .Even so: all failure of the manmade religions is also manmade. It doesn't say anything about God.

  • @jef108 man invents and defines god., just as they have written all 'holy' texts.

So hell's a metaphor now? Even though the bible describes it as a literal lake of fire? In the end you can spin these words to mean whatever you want it to mean. 37000 denominations of christianity have done so, so in the end it is meaningless. 'god' is whatever you want it to be. You create a 'god' that suits you, a 'god' you want to believe in, in your mind, instead of look at what's real in reality: Evidence.

  • @jef108 "No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says: He is always convinced that it says what he means."--George Bernard Shaw

  • @jef108 And funnily enough it was God that made the Earth a hell in the OT by killing and torturing people, and pitting people against people. And then, Jesus comes and alleviates the hell from Earth. Wow, we should be thankful for heaven solving its own problems (and creating a new one by creating a place called hell, now we're just waiting for Jesus 2.0 to alleviate hell from hell)

  • @jef108

either way, the new testament is a followup to the old one, and is entirely dependant on the validity of the old testament. so if tyhe old one is a fairytale, so is the new one:)

  • @jef108 Yep, those pesky Jews still taking our money for spinning yarns in Hollywood now.

  • This is a good comparison to the doctrine of eternal damnation, but that is based on human traditions, not the bible. (English bibles usually support it, due to biased translators. Young's Literal Translation seems like the only one without the bias.) Before Augustine (who knew neither Greek nor Hebrew) popularized it, this was dogma only around Carthage. In Ephesus (where the last living disciples taught), Conditional Immortality was dogma. Both these and Universalism were accepted elsewhere.

  • @magister343 Conditional Immortality seems to me to be the most compatible with a plain reading of (literally translated) scripture, and with modern science. It reject the pagan concept of an immortal soul. Man is naturally mortal, and does not live on after death. Immortality is a gift only for those who are in Christ. In the last days everyone will be resurrected in a physical body. The saints will be given incorruptible bodies in which to live forever. The rest will die again, and stay dead.

  • @magister343 The fact is that we all have souls. Matt 27:52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and[e] went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

The Rez already took place. 8) The Near Death Experience Research Foundation is a good place to start your research nderf . org

  • @shizzleman8 Indeed it is a fact we all have souls. I have the evidence back home in my basement.

  • haha.. this guy is brilliant

  • I think the point is that an "all powerful" and "all loving" god (if it existed) certainly wouldn't act like a deranged child abuser. Nope. Only people that blindly believe such nonsense can feel so powerless and hateful.
