I would like to see a Future Alone in the Dark game modeled after L.A Noire. I think it would be cool if they made one that puts a lot of emphasis on Edward Carnby Detective skills.. Were you can investigative crime scenes and interrogate suspects. But with supernatural elements to them.

Well, I've played the game a few years ago, and it was actually pretty cool. But what bugged me was: car physics was pretty bad. stupid ending(s). lot's of running here and there. sometimes I got stuck for hours because I didn't know what to do, that's pretty anoying.
I can't remember it that well, but I think you aren't able to free save, that is always a big minus, especially when the savepoints are far apart.
this game suck and i know is scary but i got pissed off when i played the demo that i shoot to a guy who look like a zombie and i waste like 50 bullets and it didnt die i hate this game
To be fair Alone in the Dark tried a lot of things, a GTA kind of survival horror, a physic based world, great music, and as far as I know it succeded except for the collision detector this game is pretty solid, it does not scares as Silent Hill but then again what does (Other than FF and Siren)? You can get this game for almost nothing and have fun.
@etnavs I have this game, I bought it after playing the Resident Evil Saga, meaning this game must be pretty damn good to beat it. As I expected it did not, however the game has a great prospective and it is 90% excellence. The only 10% is maybe a bit more light, and better graphics.
@MrSiddysid and the collision thing could use work. when your driving you can hit huge invisible walls, most annoyingly around slight bumps in the road
The game is amazing. I would recommend it to people who like a Mystery/Survival Horror but, you can't see the greatness in a person's opinion nor a trailer. I still recommend it though. :)
@TheTruthIsTwisted the PS3 version is way better, even though I did think the game in general was pretty cool. But I do agree when you say it was a let down, not as bad as Halo 3 : ODST, but it was :P
i think you get the thinking parts in the central park when you need to collect power for spectral vision you only need 60 out 100 and most of the "roots of evil" are very easy to kill if you think and plan well.. without even using the gun and the special bullets i killerd three of them with just an insect spray and a lighter
I've played Alone in the Darkness 1, 2 and 3 and didn't have the chance to play the Inferno and there is something that I can't understand, the main character from this game is Edward Carnby, Right?

@shikakimushrooms DUde the controls were NOT that hard, you had complex movement and those controls handled it well. Just because you have to learn to turn two analog sticks at once doesn't make the game bad.
@AllenGray47 I never said the game was bad. I like tank controls and they can be manageable. Just look at how well resident evil 4 did this. Alone in the dark had the same basic premise of the controls as RE4 and I'll admit it was intuitive but the interface was clunky as hell and it could even get you killed in the game. Don't even try to deny that the controls weren't bad because they were. Why else did you think they changed the controls in the ps3 version.
@shikakimushrooms Well I'll admit it was a bit hard with the controller, but you just have to get used to it, I actually had the PC version and just eventually went to using the mouse and keyboard and it worked fine. What got me killed was getting stuck in are where I couldn't swing. Or running into the black oozeXD Movement was actually very easy though, with the mouse at least. I never died in combat due to poor movement, other than being cornered below 943 and out of ammo.

what's the point to this game? and isn't this supposed to be another zombie killing game? cuz i saw an add for this game in an IGN magazine, and it had a four legged monster or zombie type thing in it. I have the demo, and it's very boring.
The reviews that are in the bellow 7 range are BS. Its a really unique experience. If you can get through the controls and some frustrating driving than you will love it. If not get it on the PS3.
this is a good game have it for the 360 myself. bodyboarder4play,the story line is as follows... you start off in an building with these guys who have kidnapped you and one of them walks you upstairs then this fissure comes out of the wall and tries to kill you but you escape and throughout the game you fight zombie monsters and stuff like that (zombies are a bitch to kill best bet is fire bullets)or some sort of fire weapon
Don't waste your money getting it on the ps2. It's way too great of a game to miss out of the amazing graphics and affects on the ps3 or 360. I have not played it on the ps3. And im not sure if this game is out for the PC. But I played the demo on the 360 and I really liked it.
did you know that the devlopers read all the reviews and made changes to the version coming out on ps3 seems they put it on your consoles as a tester. Anyway i have played the old on xbox and your right it has clunky contols but the new version (i played the demo)controls are completly different and they have also made a few other changes to the game. Looks like ps3 beginning to fight back. The game is called Alone in The Dark:Inferno.
Fantastic trailer - for a disappointing game. If they'd just taken about 6 more months to FINISH the game, it would have been a masterpiece. As it is, it's like a sports car with the front wheels sawn off - you can see its perfection, but it's just not put together in any proper way.
This game pissed me off so bad. Its so frustrating to control! I spent half the time swearing at the tv because he wouldnt move how i wanted him to or swing his stupid fire extinguisher (or whatever) where I was aiming. I quit after an hour or so. I dont know If ill ever play it again. Waste of my money :(
It's a good game, but if you want to get it, get it for PS3. Because the PS3 version is coming out in November and lot of things have been improved that were frustrating in earlier version, namely 360, PC, PS2. Plus, it'll be for $30, good deal I might add.

I bought this game for wii. WARNING! do not buy it for ps2 or wii. These two versions are a HUGE RIPOFF in terms of graffix gameplay and even STORY. Anyway i have played the old on xbox and your right it has clunky contols but the new version (i played the demo)controls are completly different and they have also made a few other changes to the game. Looks like ps3 beginning to fight back. The game is called Alone in The Dark:Inferno.

Fantastic trailer - for a disappointing game. If they'd just taken about 6 more months to FINISH the game, it would have been a masterpiece. As it is, it's like a sports car with the front wheels sawn off - you can see its perfection, but it's just not put together in any proper way.

This game pissed me off so bad. Its so frustrating to control! I spent half the time swearing at the tv because he wouldnt move how i wanted him to or swing his stupid fire extinguisher (or whatever) where I was aiming. I quit after an hour or so. I dont know If ill ever play it again. Waste of my money :(

It's a good game, but if you want to get it, get it for PS3. Because the PS3 version is coming out in November and lot of things have been improved that were frustrating in earlier version, namely 360, PC, PS2. Plus, it'll be for $30, good deal I might add.

i played the demo and i loved it, for thoose who didnt like it didnt like it because it is to complicated and i played it at my friends house i had so much fun so it depends on what u like not what the others like

I bought this game for wii. WARNING! do not buy it for ps2 or wii. These two versions are a HUGE RIPOFF in terms of graffix gameplay and even STORY. Thats right, half of the story and almost all of the action is missing from those two versions. I need someone to tell me, is the PC version the same as the 360 and Ps3? I reallllyyyy want to get the PC one but I don't want another ripoff. Also, is the other version good? cause it got quite a few bad reviews
