Get a newer camera. I had this one and it was nice but it was big. I recommend the sony w290 for $199. It is much smaller and has better specs.

The S700 is fantastic for video, and most shots, but movement of any kind will catch blurry shots. Very frustrating when taking shots of sporting events, or otherwise. The reason for this is because unlike optical stabilization, which helps prevent blurry movement, this camera only has digital stabilization. Digital stabilization is a generic form of the optical stabilization which is like comparing digital zoom to optical zoom. One is true and works, one is generic and does'nt.

This helped. I really need to know a few tiny things though.. Is there a way to turn off how the camera gets a bright slow moving picture when it's dark... and also.. Mine seems to work very well in natural light like the sun.. but not quite as well with indoor lights and things like that. i was also wondering. does your stabilization make your pictures more blurry and shaky? Because it does that on mine. Thanks much.

If you're going to customize your camera and void the warranty anyway, take it apart and paint the pieces individually to make it cleaner. Did you use nail polish on that? It looks like a tellytubby spooged on it.

Hey, if people are willing to pay mega bucks for custom designed/painted laptops, why not with cameras. I think the colors are pretty cool and adds some flash to an otherwise boring looking camera, I should know as I own one.
