The further back a species is related the less ERV's are inserted along the double helix. This is how we can tell from matching sequenced genomes what is related to what and where. All of this matches every other philogenetic tree already established. This is why ERV's like all the other mountains of evidence show clearly evolution is FACT.

Think about it, the only reason we are even able to classify viruses is because they are consistent (unlike you). This means specific viruses attack precise locations causing similar effects.
