  • I lovveeee your videos they are very easy to make specially ppl living away from their home countries my kids love ras malai which i learned how to make by You both thankyou gals n keep uploading

  • gonna do this today....

  • Hi, you make things look so easy. Could you do a video to show how to make banana poori. I've been given a recipe but I've not had any success with making them. I need to probably practice making plain ones first! will do with your recipe soon. Thx.

  • @139sammy : We will put that on our list :)

    Thanks for the feedback.

  • wt brand flour u use?pls let me know.thanksssssssss.

  • @amitkp80 : We use Laxmi brand Atta.

  • what's the name of the pot u r using to fry, i wud like to get one of these..thanks..

  • @jvrrdt : In Hindi, it is called a "kadhai" kinda like a wok or a stir-fry pan.

  • i eat these and im guyanese :)

  • I made it today. It came up very crispy! How to make it soft?

  • @123rubul

You can try to roll it a bit thicker. Puri should be a little crispy on the top by soft inside.

  • can i use all purpose flour?

  • @sierraleonne111

The texture may be very chewy. The whole wheat flour gives a good texture.

  • woo look at the size of those puris... nobody eats those big puris !

pani puri iza light chat, not a meal

  • @provogue1678 : This is not the "puri" for chaat - it is Puri that you eat with chole/channas. It is had as a bread. The Pani-Puri Puri is smaller...same name but different ways of making it and different purpose!

  • Can you use plain flour?

  • @Divalicious666 : No, Whole Wheat flour is needed for this recipe.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry Haha i tried it with plain flour and they turned out disgusting, thanks for your reply i shal try them once again with whole wheat

    Merry Christmas ^.^

  • i watched this video... i went & i made 5 puris for me... hahahah... only one of it puffed up...

  • @aviyanka070 : It does take a little practice :) @ things to keep in mind: oil should be the right temp and the puris need to be evenly rolled out :)

    2 or 5 aint bad.... :)

  • how can i make soft puris?

  • @aka4512

If you follow this recipe, the puris will be soft.

  • What is chapatti flour?Can i use wheat flour??nantri=)

  • @sunflowerbee

It is whole wheat flour that is available in Indian grocery stores. Some Walmarts also carry it in the Ethnic Foods aisle. Whole wheat flour from American grocery stores tends to be darker in color.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry thanks=)keep going on with your nice cooking~

  • Awesome...u gals r just rocking....keep going

  • hi there... can i use maida for making the dough, or should i stick to chapatti atta..

  • @dilu1229

Maida will make the puris chewy.

  • my pooris always turned out to be horrible but only when I tried your recipe yesterday and today, I was surprised (pleasantly :D) with the results.

Love your cooking skills, you make every step so simple to follow.

I also tried your masala aloo, really really nice. Need to try your mango ice-cream now :D

Thanks for uploading your great work.

  • thank you ladies for the method! I'm making Poori tonight for my family. I think mine Poori would not same as yours as I had already baked my dough with yeast. Next time I definitely do the same as you had shown here. Thanks gain!

    thanks

    mark

  • @posidonass : Yes, you can. Dough freezes very well. Make sure it is room temperature before you start rolling them.

  • Good reasons provided for certain dos and don't

  • does this dough freeze well?

  • Thanks guys I like it

  • Thank you guys :)

  • The best poori video I have seen! Very clear and informative. Thank you.

  • Hi Anuja, I like your voice very much

I think I am in love with you. :)

  • beautiful,i really like it

    you both are wondeful woman

i am looking a woman who knows how to make cooking, but why all good woman are in internet

    anyways good work

  • @ footo > chapati flour = white flour

  • chapati flour is whole wheat flour (atta) you can get it in all asian shops or ordinary shops

  • where can i get chapati flour?

  • It is available at your local Indian grocery store. Many times, stores like walmart and kroger also stock it in their ethnic foods aisle.

  • is this video only meant for US and European countries??

  • Why would you say that? Majority of our viewers are from the USA but we have over half our viewership from Asia!

  • Actually Store like wal-mart are only available in US or some parts of europe, so as u mentioned in one of comment to a viewer, "u can buy in similar store", i thought u've specifically made this video for US users...thats the only intension for commenting....thanks...i like ur videos anyways

  • Walmarts are going to be all over India very soon (from what I hear)!

    ;)

  • unfortunetly i am from aussie .....he he!!

  • Thanks for the clarification. I knew it was "guests" not "death" . Only an "Idiot" would think it was "death" :)

  • Hi seems good..

are they crispy and can be used with pani aswell?

  • This recipe will not work for Pani Puri...

  • they said "guests" not deaths

  • Don't show your background by using silly labels. Did I call you anything silly? If not then why use terms like "idiot". You should try and listen again too, I heard them say "poojas or when you have guests". Just calm down. I could call you labels too but I know that would serve no purpose. Just a piece of advice, if you like people to treat you with respect, then try and respect others too.

  • Sorry for the misunderstanding. We said "guests". We would never make fun of death :)

  • can you guys provide recipe for Puri for Pani Puri?

  • i'm learning how to cook,i made muli paratha today, and trying kheer, following ur recipe and puri i'm putting it for next week,Thank you so much, loving your videos.

  • Wow .. I did not realize how easy this is. Thanks!

  • this is a life saver....i'm just starting to cook and you make it look easy ......thank you

  • life saver!

  • The texture becomes a bit chewy if you use only white flour.

  • guys..i m pretty confused here. I just watched another video where the chef used sooji/rava with a litle maida for the poori. here they are using only atta. so which is the correct method?

  • There are always many different ways of making the same dish, so really, there is no "correct" way. Using rava/sooji and maida will give you a little different texture. You can try out both methods and see which one you prefer.

  • I guess u r referring to Poori's of Pani Puri by Vahrehvah.... they are different for these ones. Thsoe are small poori, in which u add water(pani). These ones with eat with curries

  • the former one was for Pani puri, thats and Indian snack. This one is kind of a side dish, can even be eaten with tea at breakfast....

  • hey auntys...m frm nepal n m here in usa right now so i miss my mom's homemade food a lot..thx for rhe videos....i made frm sooji haluwa last week...now i'll make some pooris...keep ur videos rolling.

  • pakistan and india foods is best in world

  • i agree peace

  • Agreed in peace!

  • i like wit channa dhal in side of it with aloo curry yum yum lol

  • well done, cheers

  • Chapati flour is just regular flour right????

  • Chapati flour is whole wheat flour - not all purpose flour.

  • ooh ok got it...Thank you!!!

  • Nice recipe, thanks.

  • pause at 2:13 lolz

  • Great vid. I'm no expert but our Asian food is very unhealthy. We should be looking at alternative ways for cooking our food by baking or grilling. I know its hard to make a puri without frying it but I'm sure a master chef will show us one day. ta 4 posting :)

  • Asian food unhealthy... may be ...

but would you mind checking out the world obesity index... asia has the lowest obesity rate...

  • Like I said I'm no expert, but any fried food is unhealthy and our Asian food can be very unhealthy due to high levels of fat and Cal's. Baking and grilling or steaming is the better way with reduced fat, unless we all run down to the gym :)
