on a record I think it could work, but live... I dont think so. Corey is to big of a part of the live show. And if they found someone else who was just as good with the audience, it would still be wrong. Corey step`d in after Anders, who wrote all the songs for mate, feed, kill, repeat, and a good part of the songs on the st album (even touhgt Corey changed alot in them to make them his own). So Corey has been there the whole way, and no, I dont think it would work without him.
I think it would be very, very hard to replace Corey.. He provides Slipknot with such a distinctive sound.. That said, I'd be devastated if it were to end and there is definitely more to Slipknot than just their music. It's a life force and it would be a sad day for many, many people.
I do hope Corey finds his love for the band again and chooses to stay. Because it wouldn't be the same if both he AND Paul were missing.

Look guys... Corey Taylor doesn't love Stone Sour more than he does Slipknot. His problem is that he has conflicting emotions on whether its right or not to go on without Paul. It's a human quality to feel that way... However, when he puts on that mask and he sees how much the fans love them and how much that band meant to Paul, he'll finally realize that Paul would never want the music he helped start to stop.
I will say SLIPKNOT is not all Corey, but... He is the main face of slipknot. He has been the front man for the longest time, the one who was the face of the band. His unique sound and style, along with his impressive stage presence have had an impact; if you take that away the band will in fact lose part of its identity. Not to say that SLIPKNOT can't go on, on the contrary I know they will but it will be different. Which is not bad, it is just new.

As a hardcore maggot since 1998 I will say this. I know there is always some sort of swarming energy within the band. I love Slipknot just as much as the next fan, but if Corey leaves, it will be hard for Slipknot to go on with success. Corey's lyrics and vocals are big pieces for the band to lose.
That picture of Jim at 0:16 is pretty damn awesome. As far as Slipknot is concerned, it would be a mistake to continue without Corey. That would be like The Beatles touring without John Lennon or Metallica touring without James Hetfield. The only possible way I could see them pulling it off, and this is a big stretch, is if they brought Anders back, and to be perfectly honest, he wasn't that good of a singer.
Oh, and, plus... everybody is still grieving, and the grieving process affects people in different ways. Corey is taking his time, but I seriously hope he's willing to give Slipknot another chance. Let Paul's spirit live on through his music!

It is very depressing about Paul's death last year, but Corey seems to be living in the past. I do remember slipknot from early interviews, when they said that if anyone died or left the band, that would be it! Because they needed all nine to make the whole thing happen. Now they have lost one of the original three who started the band, and they still want to go on even if Corey quits....?

on a record I think it could work, but live... I dont think so. Corey is to big of a part of the live show. And if they found someone else who was just as good with the audience, it would still be wrong. Corey step`d in after Anders, who wrote all the songs for mate, feed, kill, repeat, and a good part of the songs on the st album (even touhgt Corey changed alot in them to make them his own). So Corey has been there the whole way, and no, I dont think it would work without him.

I think it would be very, very hard to replace Corey.. He provides Slipknot with such a distinctive sound.. That said, I'd be devastated if it were to end and there is definitely more to Slipknot than just their music. It's a life force and it would be a sad day for many, many people.
I do hope Corey finds his love for the band again and chooses to stay. Because it wouldn't be the same if both he AND Paul were missing.

I will say SLIPKNOT is not all Corey, but... He is the main face of slipknot. He has been the front man for the longest time, the one who was the face of the band. His unique sound and style, along with his impressive stage presence have had an impact; if you take that away the band will in fact lose part of its identity. Not to say that SLIPKNOT can't go on, on the contrary I know they will but it will be different. Which is not bad, it is just new.

I think that everyone is forgetting that Slipknot was a BROTHERHOOD above anything else. I respect the fact that Joey wants to move on, yet at the same time I really do respect that Corey just is unsure yet. However, we shouldn't argue as to what will happen. If Corey leaves, he leaves. That picture of Jim at 0:16 is pretty damn awesome. As far as Slipknot is concerned, it would be a mistake to continue without Corey. The only possible way I could see them pulling it off, and this is a big stretch, is if they brought Anders back, and to be perfectly honest, he wasn't that good of a singer.

Oh, and, plus... everybody is still grieving, and the grieving process affects people in different ways. Corey is taking his time, but I seriously hope he's willing to give Slipknot another chance. Let Paul's spirit live on through his music!

I have respect for Joey, Corey, Paul and everybody else in Slipknot. I don't want Corey to leave, but that's not mine or anybody elses decision to make, it's his. Corey never actually said he's leaving though... he just said that he's taking baby steps, and if all goes well then it could have a positive outcome on the future of Slipknot. Without Paul, it's bad enough, but without Corey... it just won't be the Slipknot we all know and love. That goes for every member of the band, too.

I love Corey Taylor, but I'm a fan of Slipknot first and foremost. If Corey Taylor leaving is the best thing for the band, then it is what it is. Many other bands have continued on with new singers...Shit happens, you can't expect everything to stay the same.

Ive been a fan since their inception, and was absolutely devastated when Paul passed. If anything, right now they need to stick together. But decisions are their own and no matter what, I will support them all.

ok i will agree with corey being a great song writer, but as for slipknot he lost his edge IN MY OPINION during vol.3. i can honestly see them moving on without him, i mean the whole band other than corey want to stick with the heavy, "in-your-fucking-face" shit they started with but then stone sour came out and corey's balls shrunk up into his asshole... granted he used to be good with slipknot, but there's key words in that last phrase, USED TO BE... he's not anymore, he's grown soft for Stone

Corey is the one that makes this fucking band. If they hadnt have picked him out of Des Moines, theyd still be there playing clubs or working in a damn field, and he wouldve made it big with Stone Sour. Its sad really, it seems like Joey is pushing WAY too hard for this, if Corey doesnt move on with the band, they can kiss their success goodbye. So much for all that bullshit they said about if anyone leaves, then the band is over, at least Corey is considering it, Joeys pretty much ignoring it.

i think slipknot will still kick ass. their alot of people in this world that can replace him. tho i wouldn't want him to leave. i'm a maggot for life. i have slipknot on all my rides. and if i had to support one band. it would be slipknot. but i think the old slipknot was better. seems more heavy

yo it takes a pretty stupid person to sit here and say the band is nothing without corey, i love corey just like the next person but there is a lot of tallent in that band, if he has other obligations to fofill thats great, good for him. . . but dont sit there and knock the whole band (that you obveously care enough about to write to in the first place). ive been a slipknot fan for a long time and his voice changes every fuckin record anyway. . . god bless you corey but we dnt need you.

It is very depressing about Paul's death last year, but Corey seems to be living in the past. After hearing some of his recent lyrics such as Snuff and Say You'll Haunt Me, it's apparent he's an emotional person, but if the others have moved on and are ready to write and record music, then why can't Corey?
