I can get better performance by Mirroring my PC Desktop with Photoshop over WIFI network on my Ipad......or a Touchpad, whatever hi performance tablet you have that support the Splashtop app.
This exactly matches my experience with the N-Trig digitizer on my 'old' HP TX2.
While I've never tried a Wacom digitizer on a screen, I feel it must be better than the N-Trig. The N-Trig/HP software release process leaves me wanting, and any updates you DO get are useless half of the time.
I'm going to be buying the EP121 and I hope that the Wacom digitizer does better.
PS: The Photoshop "driver" is actually a WinTab driver, the stylus technology that Photoshop requires (because Adobe refuses to support Windows' native stylus support). For a long time, N-Trig didn't offer a WinTab driver so some people tried hacking the Wacom driver to extract it. Fortunately that's no longer necessary. Unless this issue is due to N-Trig's software...
N-Trig released a Wintab driver but its horrid and more or less useless. For kicks I tried installing Wacoms Tablet PC driver (the Wintab driver) and it won't install since it doesn't recognize any wacom tech.
Is this just a photoshop thing, or is this happening in all pressure-sensitive apps? Can you do a second demo with Sketchbook Pro? SBP doesn't use WinTab, and it's less of a memory hog, so if that solves the issue then there might be something besides the hardware causing the issue.
Sketchbook Pro works pretty well as does Artrage. There are some issues with the Ntrig pen itself, but Pressure works fine in those two programs since they don't require Wintab. But The N-trig Wintab driver only seems to work with Photoshop...and it doesn't really work as seen by my video.
Other wintab programs like Paint Tool Sai, and Mypaint don't recognize N-trigs wintab driver and have no pressure.
Wacom has nothing to do with this. The pen digitizer is all N-trig. Regardless I did try installing an external Bamboo tablet to the Slate, and using the external bamboo tablet, the pen use works completely fine. Its strictly an N-trig issue.
@darkmagistric Yeah I was aware but had read on a forum that they had downloaded a photoshop driver from the wacom site and it fixed some of these issues. MMmmm The more I think about it...I wonder if its true?
Which Forum did you read that from? Wacom doesn't have a photoshop driver, they have a tablet PC driver that enables pressure with photoshop as well as other programs, but those wont have any effect on the slate.
@superkarl2008 I dont see how this has anything to do with Apple. Clearly the slate is having some issues...wouldnt you agree? I for one appreciate this video. Iam looking at getting the Slate as a possible sketching device so this sort of info is very relevant.
If it helps, any Wintab required program is crippled on the Slate. Photoshop CS4 is shown in my video, but CS3 is more usable, but not really by much. Painter suffers from simmilar problems. Paint Tool Sai and Mypaint have no pressure, and other programs dont even open on the device.
So far, only Sketchbook Pro and Artrage are useable for art on the slate.
@darkmagistric Sketchbook is what Iam mostly interested in so that is good news. I just recently discovered artrage (via the new eee ep121 demo) and it look like a nice program. As more people receive theirs Iam hoping that artist will start posting some usability videos on sketchbook pro.

Have you spent anytime looking at Wacom drivers (photoshop)? I've heard that it fixes some issues.

Quite the contrary. I'm a huge Tablet PC supporter. Apple has nothing to do with this.
