I got a few friends who go to the gym every day and pick fights at the bar every weekend, it's basically the same thing, in my opinion. After being humiliated and made to feel like you're helpless, it is only natural to want to feel superior. Everyone is just a product of conditioning. "ending is better than mending. everyone belongs to everyone else" and all that.
