Very cool, audio feedback for the list scrolling was very interesting. One thing I noticed though, the reader doesn't make a distinction between elements. The country selector wasn't identified as a select list, neither the icons as apps or anything else, the button was spoken as if it was a label and so on.
@lpnalda +1 With ICS, you can increase the default font size used across the system, and within the browser. Would be cool for @EyesFreeAndroid to do a demo video of this if they have time! =]
This is very impressive. I may actually hold off on getting an iPhone, now that I've seen what 4.0 is capable of. The only problem is I've never been good at drawing shapes. It's hard for me to hold a straight line, even harder on the touch screen (that's what I fail at in aurifi on my iPod touch usually) so i'm not sure if this way of enabling access would work for everyone. perhaps something like alternately pressing the volume keys 5 times would work better?
Battery life on the Samsung Galaxy (new one, 2S) seems quite limited (about one day) even with power saving on....this is a different issue, yet also important.
@EyesFreeAndroid If it only took a day to transcribe the video to caption it, why weren't the captions added BEFORE the video went live? It's another example of accessibility being considered AFTER the fact. No matter the type of EIT, nothing should be released until it's fully accessible to everyone - anything less is second class treatment.
OMG... this voice is horrible.
It´s good news though that google has improved its android- accessibility....

Will there be an option to shut off the backlight to extend battery life? Add in an easy gesture combination to toggle it back on?

does anyone know if this is available for the honeycomb tablets out now? I found the talk back feature, but it doesn't preform the same function.

@fawazar94 Why? Why, do you have to do this? Does the Galaxy Nexus make you feel that you have an inferior phone?
tuber3107 3 months ago
@fawazar94 Yes but if Google is going to start in Apple model like making device and software all by them-self, then we are at a risk

I wish you had to double tap, not just the one, but still can't wait to try it.

My question is simply this. From which screen can accessibility be turned on using that gesture? Can it be done as soon as one turns on the phone?
VideoGuyNC 3 months ago
@VideoGuyNC yes, the gesture to turn on accessibility works as soon as you turn the phone on for the first time.
