Its part of being a singer, especially JB who is practically a pro already. English singers have to learn french, german, and italian diction as undergraduates in college. I'm pretty sure in a few years with some english diction training he will sound just as awesome as he does in French.

He has a good voice, but frankly he is not a very good singer. no dynamics in his singing, no facial expression. relies mostly on the tone of his voice really.
Uh... He is French. I don't think that he has had any need to learn English because almost every fan site I've found for him is in French. He is wonderful! I think that his accent gives the song something extra. And, quite frankly, I think that you are just jealous.

Being French and not learning English does not take away from the *fact* that his English is horrible and decreases our enjoyment of the song. (For a while I did not even realize he was singing in English; certainly not understanding the words decreases the value of the song.) But I am blaming him in any way. I just think he should improve his speaking English before he tries to sing in English.
If it decreases your enjoyment, don't watch it. And, I agree that he should have practiced his English more. But, you shouldn't blame him for that. His director should have made sure that he knew how to say what he was singing. But that little mishap doesn't make him any less wonderful.
I am NOT blaming him for his English, at least not completely. (The key word "not" is missing from my comment below "not blaming".) However, the "little mishap" DOES make his singing less wonderful. Knowing the language influences how you say and intonate words and that affects the emotions of the song and its impact on the listener.
It's not as if I am saying he is bad. His voice is marvellous, but his English, so far, is not. This is an indisputable fact.

The second piece was in "The Chorus", or as you say "Les Choristes", but without the central more stacatto part.

Having a really nice voice before puberty doesn't necessarily mean it'll be nice after having gone through puberty... I wonder what he sounds like now.
