  • Whats drugs ate in México???? Viva México Cabrones!

  • Said it a million times. Edge channeled Hendrix during Zoo TV and Popmart

  • It does my head in when people say The Edge can't play guitar, for a start they could simply watch this video and see that The Edge can play like a demon, and also he's been playing for over 30 years, I'm sure he's learnt how to play guitar in that time! Great video :)

  • Their best live version.Awesome guitar solo by the edge.

  • And they say The Edge can't play guitar..

    Watch this video ignoramuses!

  • @breachmania Good comment!

  • They cut out what Bono sings at the end. I guess they didn't want to pay the rights for it, but when this first aired live on Showtime back in 97, which I recorded at the time, Bono sings the West Side Story bit, "La la la America, I want to live in America ..."

  • Wow the Edge is a genius. Must be great to play like that.

  • Great guitar solo from the Edge. Like the twist they put on this version.

  • the whole popmart thing is highly underrated - also the album: compared to nloth, pop is a creative explosion!

  • @saschaimweb Agreed. I have held that viewpoint since day one. Pop is an absolute gem. So dark and theme driven. It is the perfect completion of the Acthung/Zooropa/Pop trilogy. I still think that Gone is one of the best songs that they have ever written. Mofo... one of the most personal. If only they could gather the balls to return to that territory.

  • @Eyeman25 Yeah man Gone is a brilliant song.

  • sounds like bono's using auto-tune on his vocals. 0:51 you can hear it wobble in tune.

    what a prick!

  • @portraitofjimmy no he is not using auto tune. He just knows how to sing.

  • @TheFly212 lol

  • @portraitofjimmy False , he was singing naturally... and because of that , he sang that little part a bit out of tune..

  • @portraitofjimmy Maybe... I think if he was using auto tune he'd use it much more extensively as part of the material. But during that period when they did mess with a lot of electronic sounds, why would this be so strange or terrible?

  • @portraitofjimmy It doesn't even sound like autotune...

  • Bono lol - he is a twatt!

  • The feedback build-up at 4:15 is just perfect.

  • Love how The Edge just rips into the opening note

  • Rock and Roll !

  • Thin Lizzy FTW But U2 Are Good tho

  • I still think the 1987 in Paris is the best version

  • @tap22 Sarajevo

  • the best u2 concert in my opinion, I have all the dvds and there's no such passion and energy like the one in mexico city, I can never get enough, I have watched like a hundred times at least..

  • Greatest version of this song in my opinion.

The guys weren't prepared for this tour at all but they kicked ass in Mexico!!

  • @dsoes8586 Indeed!!.. Much better guitar riff than the original version, kinda funky to an extent the whole performance in general!!

  • This song's music sounds like a total rip-off of Ted Nugent's "Strangehold"

  • This is one song that has aged well. I like that sidewinder guitar towards the end.

  • "It was a bright, crystal clear blue-sky; the first week of school for my kids,"

"I was struck by the crystal blue skies above my head, with nary a cloud in the sky."

"Under a flawless blue sky that called to mind the day itself, "

  • Fore..................Ha Ha Ha

  • Alright!!!

  • They muted the "America" snippet (from West Side Story) for the DVD?! That made this version so cool... You can hear it very quietly from 5:10 - "la la la la la America".

    :-/

  • @Erabot no the dvd version is the same as this... however the America snippet you're talking about was played in several concerts during Electric Co, not during Bullet The Blue Sky... and you're right they cut America out along with "Send in the Clowns" from both the Electric Co live performances (the Red Rocks version (video) and the Loreley one (audio)) present in Under a Blood Red Sky album due to copyright issues

  • The band are often criticised for the Popmart period, but I actually preferred it all to Zoo TV (as great as that was). The album is better than many sometimes give it credit for, and live I thought their playing improved, the set was fantastic, and this was maybe their finest interpretation of 'Bullet'. The rhythm here is funkier than before or since, and Edge's guitar is fantastic. This song was their best live song for ten years, but since then I think they've sounded a bit bored with it.

  • Damn, I miss the days when they were aggressively sexy.

Wish they act more like this on a 360 deg tour.

  • love edges solo at the end

  • why can't Larry every learn any drum chops? weak fills....

  • What!!! Is the best drummer, i'm sorry my friend

  • wow didn't know edge doesnt use a slide in this version

  • best version ever, reminds me a little of stand up comedy off nloth

  • i was quite surprised when i saw edge's gold-top les paul the first time i saw this video. it makes perfect sense now. this song is a totally different beast than the times they have played it at slane castle and chicago

  • lovin adam gettin into it at the start!

  • I have the dvd of this concert! Beautiful stuff

  • @extreme67 not again

  • best version ever !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I like Adams rythm in this version of Bullet The Blue Sky. It's perfect!

  • Que genial el toque funk que le dió Edge a la guitarra en esta versión para el Popmart

    U2 lo mejor! ^^

  • brings back 30 years of memories...these guys are the best ever.....

  • a mid life crisis to be wished for.............

  • This was U2's mid life crisis

  • Quite a funky and gltizy mid-life crisis haha

  • @ToulacAxeHand May aswell have a mid-life crisis in style lol.

  • fucking love this tttttttttttttttttuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeee !!!!!!!!! awesome solo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • es la mejor!

  • i love bullet the blue sky.

    George aged 6

  • greatest band of all time......

  • @jimnaughton1 after pink floyd

  • @omarmhalilovic after Led Zeppelin

  • U2 CAPO LAS DEMAS SON BANDITAS .

  • whaaaaaa,,, U2 makes us lose gravity!!

    wonderfulll

  • Супер!!!

  • Fantastica questa versione Funky di Bullet the Blue Sky. The Edge Straordinario da 2:31 a 3:20 . Silent-Voice di Bono da 3:32 a 4:00. Beh in generale : Great U2 song !!!

  • me encanta bono porque a parte de ser un excelente cantante es todo un showman , no es el tipico rockero que se para en frente de su publico y solo canta , bono sabe manejar bien a su publico, algo asi como fredy mercury que sabe moverse en el escenario.

  • bingobongo cincinnati ohio

    awesome version

    rattle and hum version better

    vertigo version better

    where's the fucking cincinnati version

    o h you fuckers haven't come here

    love ya

    bingobongo aka stephenraybell

  • Para mi despues de sunday bloody sunday, la mejor cancion en vivo, por lo menos hasta la version de elevation tour!

  • oh yes outside its america....inside??

  • they were faced with the problem of following up the best album and tour of the 90s. Gotta give them credit for making an effort to not do the same old thing......Even Monet didnt paint a masterpiece every time he picked up a brush.

  • He did well considering the vocal problems he was having at the time. Not their best (Zoo TV is) But still bloody good.

  • Regardless of what Bono's doing here I actually think that they did this song better on the Popmart tour than on any other, it sounds cool and funky and Edge's guitar transcends any rock moment since.

  • Mary Poppins was a nice touch.

  • I love this song. I love U2. But I can't take this video seriously with that Brittany Spears mic. Awful.

  • I don't mind the mic, Mick Jagger has been using one lately, it's the umbrella that gets me.

  • Its awful. Its not like Mick plays an instrument enough of the time its necessary, same with Bono.

  • they play with themselves, that is why theyre using one.

theyre little childs on stage thats all. ^^ i think its funny.

  • LoL @ Britney Spears mic

  • friggin GREAT!!!!

  • one of the best ever U2 live moments..and still overlooked...thanks for the post!

  • I can not wait to buy the DVD .
