Okay, I think I remember now. If you shoot during the start of the Shinki fight the glitch can occur. To prevent the glitch from happening you need to not shoot her until she starts shooting. (Check it out in savestates before you do it in a run eh?)
No, Lunatic players see both spaces and bullets and beautifully convert that information into keyboard input that leads them to victory. That's how it works.
Perfect Cherry Blossom on Lunatic is slow for me. :)
Playing Touhou on Easy is laughable for me. There are almost no bullets and they move at a snail's pace which is the reason I usually recommend noobs to start out with Normal mode. It might be a little tough to begin with but you'll learn a lot faster that way without it being too hard.
Well you can become like me too. It won't be something that can be done overnight but if you just stick to playing Touhou and practice your skills you'll become as good as I am one day. If you just keep trying you'll eventually start to improve and in due time, you'll become far greater than you ever thought you would be and new doors will open as you realize that even though you can 1cc a game on Lunatic, your skills have far from peaked.
Well I do know you're right about that. One of the great things about Touhou is that you can see yourself improve over time. I was so proud of myself when I could make it to Okuu on Medium because at first I was having huge difficulties with cat form Orin. Did you start off not so pro either?
I'm not him but, no one starts pro at something out of blue, if he started Touhou and has a pro on his first play he is either godly or he played a harder shooter before, and I bet that if that's the case that harder shooter gave him a loooot of rage XD
I started with no skills at all. I had never played a shmup before and hard games wasn't something I was used to. I cleared EZ modo first and then moved on to Normal where I sat for 1.5 years until I finally got myself a laptop. Up until that point I hadn't played Touhou seriously but when I started actually playing seriously I managed to clear my first lunatic a few months later.
That's why I recommend people to always push themselves.
Yeah, i'm pretty sure it does. As I've become greater at Touhou my reflexes has improved and I've learned to appreciate higher difficulties in games which has lead me to become better at those too.
Touhou skills also transfer somewhat to other bullet hell games like the excellent shmups made by Cave. I won't recommend their games for you right now since they'll be way too difficult but if you ever make it to Lunacy you should check it out.
It would be wrong to classify the entirity of Cave's games as easier than Touhou. It normally something like this; Touhou Hard + the easier Lunatics = Regular Cave game 1st Loop < Touhou's harder Lunatics < Cave's 2nd loops (infinitely harder than most Touhou stuff). I don't know anything about Seihou so i can't talk about that.
at stage 4 the stage theme gives me really strong dejavu i know it was in one of the touhou fangames but which one was it? was it moedan?
takulu64 5 months ago
@takulu64 Yeah Moedan has this theme in their game, but it's also the opening/ final dungeon theme for Lufia "The Fortress of Doom".

At 23:22, what killed you? You just spontaneously died.
mstrswrd 8 months ago
@mstrswrd There's a known bug with the Shinki fight that causes spontaneous death.

Ah. Alright.

Wow, great run. Is it true that people who are able to get to this level of difficulty see the spaces rather than the bullets?

Oh wow, that's really amazing. O-O I don't think I could ever reach that level of skill. What's it like playing easy mode for you? Does it seem slow?
MoonWitchRuuRuu 8 months ago
@MoonWitchRuuRuu Well, I for one once managed to 1cc EoSD's easy mode using only my face for the arrow keys and elbow for shift, z and x.
Deduct from that whatever you want. :V
