  • The brand of this one is Ifo

  • Washdown is the same principal is any sink with a P trap. you just put water in it to push stuff down and out. it has a trap to prevent odors. if you remove the stopper from your sink and look down and add water, you'll notice the consistent water level

We have siphonic toilets. they are more complicated. the trap is designed to siphon all the matter. it allows the water to climb UP and then fall, spilling over the curves in the trap and letting air assist. the narrow diameter causes the problem

  • I live in Sweden and right after i saw this vid i ran to the toilet to check if it was correct. Even though i've seen it everyday in 17 years....

  • the toilets doo drain the water runs down the side of the toilet and it pushes the old water out of the toilet and the new water replaces the old water it does drain

  • try filling a bucket of cold water down the toilet to make it drain

  • The rest of the world use toilets like these

  • @meeloothekid

yes and WE have no problems with toilets like these

  • one time I went to some nasty holiday inn and they had low flow toilets low flow toilets are stupid because they take 2 minutes to refill and don't flush that good in the end you use more water trying to flush I clogged up the toilet it was like

1cm from overflowing i'm not kidding I had to call the stupid plumber that must have been in the mushroom kingdom or something because it took an hour to get up to us mabey eveybody else was having toilet trouble and he made a big mess and fixed it

  • water was every where the next day I clogged it again I just left it like that because I was checking out that day anyway don't even get me started on the problems we had on are cruise!

  • They flush like that everywhere in Europe.

  • i think its just scandinavia

  • No every where in Europe. They flush like that in The UK, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Germany e.t.c.

  • heh we have the same toilet in denmark xD

  • The reason it dosen't drain out is because it is non syphonic, so instead of pulling the water out(which is what syphonic action is-in which it pulls the water out untill water in the bowl is low enough to allow air to enter the trapway through the bowl outlet-producing that every day drain gurgle of a syphonic toilet, note: syphonic action is caused by air pressure in the trapway when it fills up with water), it pushes the water out.

  • We have them here in England. They clean the bowl better and it's faster, it pushes the water out it doesn't pull everything after it so it gets stuck halfway through the building. Pushing it out means the water behind it can push it further down the pipe which is much more effective.

  • ahah no you dont have to flush 3 times.. and i live here in sweden and i have a toilet LIKE this and it works very good.

  • Actually. Trust me i've lived in England all my life and I had to flush once. American toilets have water so high you get a huge splash wen u do a dump!

  • Them toilets suck over there. Trust me I used one, You have to flush 3 times for it to be clean. Barapappa1 Stay the fuck out of the U.S. Dick sucker

  • The reason why our toilets are so high tech is because your goverment spends alot of money making the toilets as cool as they can be. We even pay a special toilet tax , I was very choked when i went to Los Angles to see that your toilets are not so high tech as ours and even more choked when I heard that your govourment spends its money on other more un inportande maters like health care and education. Face it Dylan23J your and 3:d world country

  • you must be kidding.

  • man, before that video I thought a lot of Americans are stupid...

    now I'm assured!

  • hahhhhahahaaa! apparently, some people have lost the art of sarcasm!

  • My toilet does the same thing, only it actually drains.

  • and you making these statements just confirms that people are all assholes, no matter where in the world they are.

  • you dumbass, I see these toilets everywhere in western Europe; I also saw them in Australia and in India(where available).

In fact, North American function the same way

  • Lol ordinary toilet...

dont know what toilets youve got in US

  • it's nothing strange with that? I thought all toilets flushed like that? xD

  • i live in sweden i dont think its strange

  • Hey man I´ve lived half of my life in the U.S. and half in europe and i´ve seen all diferent kinds of toilets eveywhere i go...

  • i do not know what makes u so stupid, but it works!!!

  • What happens is the dirty water goes out 1 pipe whilst the new water pours in. It's meant to be done discretely. The water does get clean afta every flush!

  • Yeah in England all the toilets flush like that! It's better than U.S Toilets the U.S toilets have a too high water level! Don;t worry toilet's like this do refill with clean water but in a magical way!

  • Is it realy that hard to understand, okay it drains it and fills it att the same time!

  • Doesnt every toilets work like this?

  • HAHAHAHAHA.

  • i know how it happens, it keeps draining water while new water goes on top soo it looks like it never flushes. most urinals are like that

  • So what does this mean? It means the turd will dance on the surface but not leave? GROSS!

This model would not be a good idea in the nursing department since they seem to be the ones calling the maintenence department and housekeeping to unclog and clean the mess in fact, their toilets would need to have a grinder installed to rid their vicious blocks of s***.

  • Haha. This has to be a spoof or else your ignorance is really funny?! Most toilets around the Western world work exactly like this! In fact, America, Canada and some in Japan are about the only places where they don't.

  • my toilet is awsome woot it is so cool and works great i feel power in every flush i make

  • Sheesh, I had no idea that americans are so...umm...facinated by how our toilets works... ;p

  • Not to bright ;D cutie

  • Lol Thats how my toilet flushes in Scotland:P

  • Haha, lol I wanted to do a vid about the same thing when I was in california ;)

  • Oh my God. How stupid you have to be, not to understand how it works :D

  • can't you upload a vid of a flushing US toilet as well... I thought every toilet flushed like this.

It is of great importance. (I'll subscribe so i donät miss it)

  • ok, väldigt normalt att visa en toalett från sverige

  • Dude get a clue, I hear you can buy one for a buck at any store outside the us...

  • Ok, Realised I was a bit mean here, ignorance just pisses me of... Here hows it works:

The water you see before flush gets displaced by the "new water".

Didnt you have a #1 or 2 during your stay in Sweden ?

Youd notice how it works ;)

(This method of toilet design saves loads of water btw, compared to the consumer crazy americans :P) (Also you dont get the splashes... :P)

    Hugs n kisses

  • relax people. i know how it works. but it is different from how it happens in the US. geesh. it's all for fun. sarcasm is a lost art.

  • I know, Im sorry for my lack of humor tbh... Had a bad day.

Im a gentle soul most days :)

  • Im sorry m8, I realise I was being a dick last night, had a bad day and just watched the "Boston Aqua teen hunger force bomb scare" vid and went of on a tantrum (hence the ignorance comment above). Plus us Swedes are fiercly protective of our toilets... :P

    My bad.

  • I dont get it. Its a normal swedish toilet. Whats so fascinating about it?
