I don't think she really mean to use goth with such a negative connotation, probably more of a general term. As she says later in the video, dark colours are not easy for the majority to pull off. Goth is just a word that has entered the general vocabulary, don't take it too personally guys, i'm sure your dark makeup looks great on you :)

I love this look .... however I don't understand what is negative about a gothic look. Gothic chicks (myself being one) usually have a wonderful passion for makeup (since we do very dramatic looks) and there is nothing wrong or bad looking with a more smoked out gothic lashline (as long as its well done). I'm sure you didn't mean for it to be offensive b/c you seem like a sweet girl. But the way you said it makes it seem like a gothic look is ugly or unappealing

@Trueghostgirl I agree. I personally think gothic makeup can be very beautiful, but a lot of people automatically stereotype goth as heavy eyeliner and smudged black shadow. This is of course not the case, but that's what society thinks. It sucks, but most of time it's just an automatic reaction.

Hey Tiff,

When I use primer for my lids usually Too Faced primer...when I apply eye shadow end up making streaks or smudge marks and because of the primer it makes it hard to carry out the shadow and to make it look even. Is it the way I may be applying the eyeshadow? maybe to forcefully, or a different brushing technique, or maybe it's the primer? What do you think?

@AlessandraW88 I used to have this problem with urban decay primer potion. I could never blend my eyeshadows very well and it would look so uneven. I started reading blog.makeupbymario. com (Kim Kardashians Make up artist) and read that he suggests just using concealer or foundation for an eyeshadow primer but putting a translucent powder over top of it and then applying shadows. If you don't want to do that he suggested setting your normal E/S primer w/translucent powder. works so much better!
