I saw The Wall show at Greece last Saturday.. Best show I've ever been.. It's on a different level with everything else going on the concerts' world right now.. I was a bit skeptical about Hey You 'cause it's my favorite Pink Floyd song and I didn't know if watching just the Wall could be good for enjoying the performance.. Well.. it was amazing.. It gave every word of the song a totally different meaning.. Damn, you, Roger.. How can I go on any other show now after this? :-/..

i saw him last week in belgium and i was wondering, the wall looks exactly the same on the edges.. but each hall is different no? do the technicians adjust the wall each time they perform or what? :p oh btw, i scared myself to death when the monster thingy ran and smacked the wall

I wouldn't say that. The Wall was fucking huge. It was 30 years ago or something. I remember on my 18th Birthday i was given the 30 year edition of Dark Side of the Moon and that wasn't particularly "Big" at the time. But there's no doubting it's influence or popularity. And if you go to any Pink Floyd related concert. the masses sing the Walls song louder than any other.
@trollfinger Your right about how special effects doesn't really make the music any more special, but I was referring to how some people don't get the wall's message (most pink floyd fans do) it's like people who know every word to wish you were here but can't tell you who the song's about.
The Wall is THE main prop of the show. It's Pink's way of isolating himself after his father died, after his wife divorced him, and other things. That's what makes the Wall so spectacular. It's like the Audience is trapped behind the wall and they want to see what's on the other side but it's impossible because "The wall was too high as you can see". I wish I could have seen the concert!!!
@AngusTheSnake half way through the concert the soldiers come on stage and start to build up a wall, and by the end of the concert during the song, the trial, they tear the wall down. the concert wouldnt make much sense to you if you didnt understand the songs in the first place, nor if you had seen the movie. its all about his father dying in the war and how his mother would coddle him and keep him hidden from the world.
@AngusTheSnake because the concert isnt his preformance, the concert is thw whole thing all put together, the lights, the props, the effects, not to mention whoever knows what drugs are floating around in there. my point is, that there isnt really anything to see behind the wall, just a few banners, and hammers and a big ring that stuff is projected on, and you see it all at the begining as well. the most important parts of the show are presented on the wall itself

yeah... Syd was a genious, and he came up with the concept of the band, but he wasn't able to continue, so Roger took the direction of it with the rest of the band and they made brillian music based on the idea of Syd
if you listen to their records, and see their life performance, you will see one of the top bands of history of mankind

The wall is built up and then collapsed over the course of the show. You don't just see a wall for 2 hours. You must be a 'nupte' or under 15.

@DRGREENFUN I went to the original show back in 1980 in Los Angeles and this show is just as good if not better than what I saw 30 yrs ago.The animation is way better,the sound is perfect,the energy was awesome.Sure the four original guys together was incredible but so is this.

I agree 100%. I was at the original in Nassau Coliseum NY in 1980. I have the full page ad from the NY Times for the Wall concert, a little yellowed, but framed and hanging. TIckets were $12.50 and $15.00, my program was $15. I barely remember any audience because everyone was so spaced from seeing a whole new experience, the music was new, and we didn't know what to expect or had nothing to compare it to.
Nonetheless, both 1980 and 2010 are among my best concerts of all time

@nwtrdr im sorry.... original? no. no sir in 1965- late 67 you would have seen the original 4. Syd Barrett WAS pink floyd. they might as well have changed the name of the band when syd left.. or got kicked out. whatever happened.... not to deter from the fact that any pink floyd live showing isnt completley amazing.

yeah... Syd was a genious, and he came up with the concept of the band, but he wasn't able to continue, so Roger took the direction of it with the rest of the band and they made brillian music based on the idea of Syd
if you listen to their records, and see their life performance, you will see one of the top bands of history of mankind

@blessiththechily Original WALL SHOW!Clearly I am not old enough to have seen them in 65,I was barely born.Syd Barret wasn't Pink Floyd btw,just watched a doc on Biography channel on Pink Floyd and he did write a lot of the early songs on the first three albums but they not Pink Floyds biggest ,most popular songs.In any case I prefer Pink Floyd music without him than with him.

@iny0ureyes Well I hope you got to see the Roger Waters Wall Show on this current tour,you would be seeing something very very similar to what I saw back in 80.After 275+ concerts I can say with some authority this is the best live show that can bee seen by anyone anywhere on the planet.You are fortunate you are alive for these final Wall Shows.

One question: How can it be a cover when he developed the concept, wrote all the lyrics for all songs, lead sang on almost all, his voice was in the background of the others and composed all the music, except for three of the songs? I actually consider The Wall almost Roger's first solo album.

I totally agree with you, and don't watch the you tube videos till you see the live show. there is no compassion. I tried like hell not to watch them. I didn't have to wait to long since he toured the US first. Unbelievable show you are going to be blown away.

@BANKSYSKNAB That's cool. What people need to accept is, That is Roger Waters not Pink Floyd. All arguments aside. Roger has been solo artist longer then he ever was in Pink Floyd. As a fan I like it this way twice the tours albums and music. They are both great in my mind.

@northvilletunnels You people want to argue over anything and you dont even understand what others were attempting to say..NOBODY SAID ROGER WATERS IS PINK FLOYD . but he sure was 1/5 and then1/4 of the band after Syd Barrett..Both waters and Gilmour are great ....love both as equal...All I was saying is Snowy White doesnt do too bad on David Gilmours part....At the time I was just being hopeful Gilmour plays in fort lauderdale the show I am going to tomorrow night,, which he is playing 2 shows

@RaffaJay I wasn't arguing about anything I completely agree with you. The only people that I have issue with are the one complaining and knocking it. We are so very lucky the Roger is out there and its an added bonus that Snowy White is touring with him. You are going to love the show. I wish i could see it a hundred times. Ive seen Roger Waters countless times since 1984 and Gilmour solo and as Pink Floyd I love it all.
