Can anyone tell me when this was? 1:50 im just new to the basketball world and i only watch like 2006 and returned to like 2010 till today. I barely caught shaq.
Wanted to see this after seeing his retirement earlier... HOLY HOT DAMN does time do bad things to you in the future. Amazing Shaq kept it up this long to begin with
I am going to miss you alot! My Hero and who I have been looking up to the last 19 years. Thank you very much for everything you have done and thought me
It's a shame Shaq was too lazy to stay in the shape he was in during his first few years in the league because, in that form, he moved like few centers in the history of the league ever could! Just look at him taking it to the defense on fast breaks! Imagine what Shaq's stats could have been had he stayed in shape....
by looking at his rookie season, he might look like less than 300 lb. but as time passes by, he goes all the way up to 350+ lb! no doubt the biggest beast in NBA.
Even though I'm a Magic homer and huge fan of Dwight Howard I can say with utmost certainty that Shaq would mutilate him. Shaq in his prime was from another planet.
looks like he had alot of fun his rookie year... this looked more like recess... like he's playing around with kids... to play with young Penny, Kobe, Wade, LeBron, Steve Nash and now with KG, Ray Allen and Pierce.. he's truly blessed and has had a fun career...
basketball is so boring ...we get 2 points ,they get 2 points ,we get 2 points ,they get 2 points for fuck sakes why cant the game just go for 5 mins instead of sitting there for an hour whatching this yoyo game
@kklol7 not even close, Bynum should never be mentioned in the same sentence as Shaq. No where near the athleticism, post moves or feel for the game. He does have him in the free throw department.
not to mention that shaq hangs on him the rim to make his dunks seem more powerful. the top 5 hardest dunkers ever IMO are shawn kemp, lebron, blake, dwight, and shaq
@justas7basket Blake wouldnt have destroyed every single basket, you have to realize that Blake is only 250 pounds compared to Shaq's 310 pounds and Shaq was a much bigger guy.
@Rebound321 lol u dont understand. wen shaq first came into the league he was only 280-290 and thats really not that heavy for a legit 7'1 guy while blake is really only 6'8-6'9 at 250 with hardly any body fat. the blake now as a rookie is probably stronger then this rookie shaq
@tonychoitellem Dude dont make up numbers, search here on youtube " Shaquille O'Neal 1992 NBA Draft " and fast forward to 1:23 in that vid, his weight then was 303 pounds. 280 - 290 is heavy for a 7'1 guy, the only guy taller than 7'0 other than shaq that is above 280 pounds is Yao Ming and he's 7'6', no other 7'1 guy is really that close to 280 as you say isnt so heavy for a legit 7'1 guy. I highly doubt that rookie Blake is stronger than rookie Shaq. Shaq beasted the Ewings and Robinsons then
@tonychoitellem Haha why dont you go and suck off Griffin and his low body fat, O Neal was a once in a lifetime freak. He would bulldoze Griffin in the paint.
No one ever was like him and never will be. He was unstopable, skilled. Greatest enterntainer too, but i dont think he will be an nba coach. He should be, but i dont think he will be.
WHAT A BEAST! forgot how good the diesel was! the first poster i ever owned was a shaq orlando poster. don't know what happened to it, but this video just motivated me to go and somehow find that exact poster!
Dwight Howard is a beat, the best center in basketball right now. But put him up against a young prime Shaq, Hakeem, Ralph Sampson, or even Wilt; and he would be just another very good center.
@bettydaw1970 not really sure about that. Hakeen had propobly by far the best footwork out of all NBA centers in history, he schooled Shaq with his post moves, Wilt never had Hakeems moves. Wilt was a better player than Shaq though, Wilt led the league in assists one year(8.6 in 1968), he's also 4th in NBA history with 78 triple doubles, they didnt start counting blocks until Wilt retired.
@bettydaw1970 Wilt Chamberlin was the *gasp* Dwight Howard/Shaq of his day. But come on, you mean to tell me that Shaq and Dwight are not as agile and dominant as Wilt?? The only reason people call Wilt the most dominant big man ever is because put up numbers nobody had ever seen before on a routine basis, and nobody has yet to copy that. But that shouldn't be a surprise. Players in those days were not as tall, strong, athletic, or flat out GOOD as Chamberlin was. His competition was miniscule.
The only thing good about Dwight Howard is jumping, which is good for rebounding, blocks, and dunks. But Shaq was adept n playing like monster point guard? XD
rookie stats of 23 pts and 14 rebounds in the 90's with David Robinson, Ewing, Robert Parish, Mourning, Olajuwon all in the paint....absolutely GORILLA!!
