@ChelevSaRa I think it's a question that can't be answered, because Atheism is a belief in someone's mind that god(s) don't exist. Therefore either you have this belief in your mind or you don't, it cannot be proven.
I was poking fun at a viral challenge to atheists to "provide proof and evidence that atheism is accurate and correct," as though not believing someone else's claim was itself a claim.
@Squatch347 What if I am convinced there is no god by the absence of any evidence. I definitely consider myself an atheist. I admit I could be wrong, but have no logical reason to believe I am. I don't feel your definitions are completely correct.
@ChelevSaRa To not accept the Theist claim is agnosticism, not atheism. If you are an atheist you are making a positive claim that "there is no God." An agnostic is someone who says "I am unconvinced by any arguments."
I'm pretty sure if you opened your narrow mind a bit more... you'll see what most atheist see in the universe. if you look at a galaxy, and say "god made this" it's impractical.
@MrShoeguy What's your definition of "atheism"? The definition of agnonisticism is "a religious orientation of doubt; a denial of ultimate knowledge of the existence of God" or "one who believes that it is impossible to now whether there is a God." Atheism is defined as "a lack of belief in a deity or deity" or "the theory or belief God doesn't exist." The creator's definition is spot on.
@lewiss1100 Because religion is stuffed in our face all the time. Arguing with a Christian is like wrestling a pig. In the end, you're both covered in shit and the pig is still a pig.
@lewiss1100 No, atheists are atheists because there is no evidence to say a god does exist, and we don't try and disprove him because deep down we know he's real but because we've been told from childhood that there is a god and that this is fact despite there being absolutely no evidence to suggest a god exists.
We care about humanity and are incredibly disturbed about how the majority are religious. Also, we don't try to disprove god. Whenever we find a new reason why the concept of god is impossible the religious people change their definition god. At this point they have just about defined him out of existence, so most of us have just given up trying that approach ,
@cm3007235 Difine God?? Who can do that? The vastness of God is immeasurable. Holy, Righteous, Lord, Creator, Master, King, Mercy, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father, Healer, Deliverer, just to name a few of God's countless attributes.
People can deny Him, but none can change who He is. Man can "take God outta places" not really. God is everywhere.
@lewiss1100 I will never understand why people like you believe this stuff. I kind of get why people believe in god in the deist sense, there is logic to believing that, twisted logic granted, but logic nonetheless. However, there really is no possible logical pathway to attributing attributes like that.
@cm3007235 It's about Faith. Jesus told His disciple Thomas, after His resurection, you have seen me & are blessed by it, but I say unto you those who do not see Me yet believe shall recieve an even greater blessing.
What I can't understand is why so many doubt the existance of God. Jesus, God made flesh, came to the world He created & to save His chosen people. The very ones He came to save rejected Him, but to those who do believe He gives power to become sons of God.
@lewiss1100 I'm asking HOW YOU KNOW THIS? Saying "It's about faith" is the same thing as saying "I have no reason to believe this but I want to believe it anyway". Do you have any sort of argument for why this is true?
@lewiss1100 There is a subtle difference between a story about a guy not believing something and being shown proof so as to change his mind and actually being a guy not believing something and being shown proof. Atheists are very much like Thomas in this respect. We keep asking for proof, and all we get are stories about a guy just like us who had his mind changed. Do you see the disconnect here?
@lewiss110What I can't understand is why so many doubt the existance of God. Jesus" " because we ask for evidence and all we get is bible quotes,,witch not evidence) told we gotta have faith(faith= belief without evidence) there is no evidence any where that is an all powerful being of any type, of any religion. And you offer no reason to beleive in your god any more than any other religion.
@mandrillx God cannot be defined. There are no words to fully describe Him.
Magic is real, witchcraft, tarot, voodoo is all real & evil.
God on the other hand is Holy & Righteous in every way.
God is Holy, Righteous, Prince of Peace, the Way, the Truth, & The Life, Wonderful, Counselor, Almight God, our Creator, Alpah & Omega, father to the fatherless, my very best friend, author & finisher of our faith.
I wish I could describe God to you, but He's too awesome, words alone are not enough
@lewiss1100 Loving, huh? How many people were killed in the flood, the plagues, Sodom and Gommorah, and all of the other tragedies and sufferings caused by your deity in the OT?
Haha, seriously most of you christian people are just too stupid. This video is embarrassing. I'm an atheist and I don't have any proof that god/gods didn't create us. And I and most of the atheists have never claimed that we have a proof. We go after things that makes more sense. And that's absolutely not believing in some retards writing a fairy tale about a little man sitting on a cloud and that can create wonders. Just cause you read it in a stupid book doesn't mean it's true. Get smart!
@Shaterproductions I think that is the point with this video. The christian fool making this video want some sort of revenge cause we atheists are always the ones saying christians shouldn't believe something so hard, when there is no proof what so ever. So here we have a christian moron making this video to get a really lame comeback: Where is the proof for you atheists, that there is no god? But, seriously, 90% of all the christians are retards.
Your grossly inaccurate portrayal of atheism illustrates how fundamentally flawed some of these theistic arguments are. Our response is a request for proof - we don't go around asking for proof without a claim initially asserted. I'd call you out on a straw-man, but that would be an appeal to fallacy.
@ChelevSaRa but you put "ATHEISM The state of not believing in the existence of gods" you put a plural which could mean that atheists are monotheistic
@DGENERATIONXRATED OH sweety, pocking you with a stick is fun, and that's never a waste of time. You shouldn't belittle your entertainment value like that.
@DGENERATIONXRATED No need, I look a lot like your mom's hairy twat, I'm sure you got a good look when you learned to perform cunilingus. At least that's what she told me....
"Another atheist fails to provide proof and evidence that ATHEISM is accurate and correct! "
Hmm... sounds like you copied this from shockofgod. You really should get better sources than some imbecile on a motorcycle who asks stupid questions.
Theists are the ones who have failed to prove their claims. Now, since the burden of proof lies with those making claims, it's the theists who must prove their god exists.
Science is puttin the screws to religion more and more every day. Vids like this one show just how desperate and pathetic the religiously afflicted are becoming. Keep it up science, these idiots haven't got a chance.
@bermudaguy1 What do you mean "Atheism is supposed to prove anything!"? You know to be able to prove anything is impossible in this day and age right?
@inconsp1cuous1515 it's the theme song to the movie "last of the mohicans". A absolutely amazing score to a absolutely amazing movie. Highly recommend both.
True belief in God is never divorced from authentic science, but it should never be subordinate to it. Science is only required to be sucessful 1% of the time or less to be effective. That's not something I can trust to fill in the gaps with daily on the most important issues in life. Wisdom has to reign where science has yet to venture.
Kinda wanna add my two cents because I aim to provide a different perspective on any given subject and I usually do a pretty good job of it. In the end, that's how I like to educate/ help people expand their knowledge and I think it's an interesting and enjoyable approach; but oh look. Fuck loads of massive comment replies. Be it a flame war? I should expect but nothing more from viewers of a religion subject video. Everyone knows everything and is an expert in educating everyone else.
Hahaha! I like how the one asking for evidence is presented as an evil, snarling ugly character. That must really be how atheists see people who ask for evidence...
@csmcmillion With only 4 likes. Just goes to prove there are 4 other people in this world as dumb as you.
When in doubt and too retarded to create a legitimate argument, search for incorrect grammar. When attempts to find incorrect grammar and spelling fail, result to 'yeah, well my comment is the top comment' and return with the insult I used. Oh and returning with my insult is an insult to be accompanied with you, maybe, owning me. Fucking idiot.
@csmcmillion From what we've both shown so far my knowledge has way surpassed "the burden of proof lies on the shoulder of the claimant". That is the most basic of argument. Not to mention your seriousness in your comment hints to the fact you couldn't tell this was harmless satire. Shall I continue? Nah, no real fucking point, you have no argument and you state the most simple and common facts.
@csmcmillion Fact of the matter. You missed the whole fucking point of the video. It's satire. You got butthurt. Therefore you put out the most basic argument "Burden of proof lies of the shoulder of the claimant". Therefore what you have shown the youtube community is that you're an idiot. I alerted you to this. You responded by implying your intellect is greater than my 147 IQ points. You can only judge what is in posts. You came across as a complete idiot. I'm an ass, but I have a brain.
@csmcmillion Doesn't matter if it's poor satire. It's satire and it's obvious. You took it seriously and got butthurt. Strike one for idiocy. Then you said your intelligence is greater than mine, which you couldn't back up. From the posts shown you are an idiot and all you can back to my 147 IQ is doesn't mean shit. Intelligence quotient, capacity for intellect. I'm clinically a genius, jelly? Strike two there. You're a meanie, well I'm not an asshole, I'm a human. Strike three, fail all round.
@csmcmillion You have a problem with me providing an alternate point of view for people. When someone is just a fucking idiot like you, I'll swear, and I'll tell them, I don't care. Seem a little ageist there. I have far surpassed your knowledge presented with only two posts.
@csmcmillion Again. You state the easy argument and misinterpret the video. I very rudely inform you of it with some swearing. Google is at your whim yet you are unable to back any logical 'argument' so you resort to basically "You're a meanie and you have pimple" then imply you can beat me up. Am I supposed to be intimidated? You're digging yourself a hole. I'm 17, I have plenty of time to have fun, YouTube is not a place where I need to be grown up. You just come across as unintelligent.
@csmcmillion I might as well take your word for it so meh.
But intelligence usually isn't turned on or off, it has a way of shining through if you don't consciously try to hide it. What you presented is someone who is lacking in ability to distinguish sarcasm and lacking of intelligence. I put forward a face of a person who is intelligent, yet very rude and constantly swearing. I may be 17, I may be acne infested and you can't take my word for what I've said age/IQ but my intelligence showed.
@ChelevSaRa The atheist has nothing to prove because we make no positive claims. We simply take the default position of lacking belief until such evidence can be put forth that defies all Earthly explanation. And it has to be documented. No anecdotal evidence will work. We look at it like a trial jury. What evidence do you have that theism is accurate and correct? I bet I get no reply.
@atheistjacob As it's been stated, according to the Atheist's empirical testing methods, just two generations ago satellite tv couldn't exist, microwaves couldn't exist, ultra violet lights couldn't exist, and the internet is a myth invented by man. Wisdom is seeking unobservable evidence and finding cause & effect. That's why the atheists is divorced from reason.
@protochris "As it's been stated, according to the Atheist's empirical testing methods, just two generations ago satellite tv couldn't exist, microwaves couldn't exist, ultra violet lights couldn't exist, and the internet is a myth invented by man."
Two generations ago all this could possibly have existed. It could have existed many generations ago but for religion which brought the dark ages and discouraged scientific advancement.
@protochris Also, if the internet is a myth invented by man, what are you using to type these comments? The internet is a possibility. A quite strong one at that. But you haven't answered the initial issue brought up by my comment and that is to provide documented evidence of something happening that defies all Earthly explanation. As of right now, and until you can answer that issue, you epically fail and I have no need to speak to you.
@atheistjacob I have no direct evidence to show that God exists, that would be extremely bold to claim. There is only testimonial evidence (the bible) which you would reject, and circumstantial evidence (wisdom & reasoning). I never tried to produce direct evidence, so I don't call that failure.
@protochris That is failure because theists claim to "know" that God exists and "have evidence" and I ask every theist for the evidence. And I used logic and reasoning to deduce that without evidence there is no reason to believe. But as long as you did use logic and reasoning, your beliefs are yours.
@protochris Disregard my second reply if you would. It was about an issue I raised with another question. Sleeplessness always gets me. But no one can answer it, either way.
@protochris No matter how much people want to cling to the past, the reality is that the belief in any religion (again, an organization made by men, not by gods) is outmoded and useless. We now live in the information age, and everyone has access to knowledge, which enriches intelligence and promotes free will, two things religion has been crushing for over 2000 years. I say this: believe in what you want to believe in, but if you can't prove it, don't expect me to believe in the GBSSET.
Religion, on the other hand is actual elitism. I love how so many people have faith in their religion (which is an organization created by and with the express purpose of controlling PEOPLE) and claim it is a belief in a god. Without the bible there would be no Christians. Without the Koran there would be no Muslims. Without Man's need to control others for their own gain, there would be no religion. It is the same story you see in abuse cases and "cult" reports. Believe in divinity, not man
God was originally invented to explain things that humanity couldn't. Before we had the knowledge to explain those things, we converted god into religion. Then we used religion to brainwash and control the masses. As humanity gained knowledge and started to explain the unexplainable, the brainwashing and control continued. Those in power refused to give up the control and money. Now, the majority of things once attributed to god are easily explained, yet we still refuse to give up the fairytale.
I can't help but notice that atheists are the most crude, irreverant, morally lacking reprehensible citizens of the you-tube universe. You continuously refuse to look outside the box drawn with your owns imaginary lines, so you're left to live with your own internal misery.
@protochris fee fi foh fum ,i smell the blood of a bitter christian. have faith dude. you know, belief without evidence. [wink]whatever you do dont ever leave the bubble of delusion for the truth, as the truth sucks. lol
@protochris Let me help you understand your hatred for atheists better. See, we refuse to fall for the fairytales. We're strong enough to live our lives knowing that life is what we make it, whereas you can't handle the idea that there is no all powerful entity controlling your destiny. The fact that you're the only one responsible when things go wrong scares you. You need the comfort of "god's plan" to get you through your life's failures, so you project your "internal misery" on us.
@morgothic420 Strong enough? Atheists are the weakest mental species on the planet- The path of least resistence. Don't use your senses, just yield to your passions; that's why Atheists have a monopoly on hatred.
Go pick up a history book and see how your philosophy has empowered human beings: communism, nazisms-those beautiful atheistic governments that allowed man such wonderful control of his own destiny.
@protochris The path of least resistance? Like believing what you are told regardless of how ridiculous it sounds or the lack of any real evidence to support it? Don't use your mind, just yield to your brainwashed delusions; that's why Theists have a monopoly on ignorance.
Go pick up a history book and use some actual though to realize that those systems you mentioned were state run religions whose dictators required god like praise and worship.
@protochris Your assertion that Atheists have a monopoly on hatred is laughable. Religion breeds hatred for those who don't believe as they do. Christians hate Muslims, Jews hate Muslims, Muslims hate Jews and Christians, and all three groups hate Atheists. However, Atheists don't usually hate religious people, we may pity your lack of ability to think for yourself, but we don't hate you. Where we really have problems is when theists force their beliefs on us.
@morgothic420 If god doesn't exist, then it's not religion that breeds hatred, it's ultimately man.
You can't have it both ways. Atheism is a pseudo-elitism, believing that others who don't share your limited vision lack some enlightenment. It's that false elitism that causes prejudice, division, and eventually intolerance. Ultimately, the only recourse for an atheist, is to take those with whom they disagree and line em' up against a wall. Thats why religious freedom is a constitutional right.
@protochris You're absolutely right, man does breed hatred. Man is constantly inventing new ways to make his prejudice socially acceptable, religion just happens to be the longest lasting. What I find ironic is that everything you've said so far about atheism is actually an attribute of religion. I fully support religious freedom. I really don't care what you believe as long as you don't expect me to believe it. I don't expect to change your mind and you shouldn't expect to change mine.
@morgothic420There can be a fine line between religion and philosophy. In the absence of religion, man will develop a government with a philosophy that is equally oppressive to any religious system. I'm not asking to change anyone, I have several atheist friends that are good people. Theists only ask for respect, something that's lacking from our government and especially the media.
@morgothic420 Well said. And, may I add, that the fact that religion attempts to insinuate itself into politics, education and science is more than enough cause for "people of reason" to fight back against religion. And, one of the best ways to do that is by criticizing, mocking and exposing the weaknesses of the belief itself, which is based on zero evidence.
@protochris I guess when someone like you is unable to understand history and simple concepts, we get a bunch of stupid blanked statements like yours. We atheists think for ourselves, we like evidence... What? you don't have evidence? THAT is mental weakness on your side. Then the conversation is over and you fail.
@morgothic420 My used to be a Christian side is speaking through now. The reason we hated most of you isn't because you didn't have faith in God. We truly believed he loves you and he only wanted to guide you to have a better life and help the world. You listen to God and not what someone is telling you God is saying. We hated you because you were arrogant, like we're superior "We're strong enough...". Cont.
@morgothic420 Even now, as a fellow Atheist, just from this comment I hate you. You're an arrogant fucking idiot and you speak as though you have multiple PhD's in psychology, social psychology and religious theology. The way you are wording your whole comment speaks a tone of you being a past religious person and the most qualified person on the planet of the matter. For fucks sake you're talking down on this person as if you're infinitely knowledgeable and correct. Nothing you said's correct.
@539forgotten You're welcome to hate me if it helps you feel good about yourself. I don't need your acceptance to get through life. I speak as though I have an opinion about people who cling to a belief that science is making increasingly obsolete. I have the right to express my opinion, just as you have the right to express your opinion that I'm an "arrogant fucking idiot". I respect your right to have an opinion, even if I don't respect the opinion itself. If my assumption (cont)
@morgothic420 Oh no my bad don't take that the wrong way. From what you presented to the internet, I really dislike that face character. It would be unreasonable to hate you as a person just from that one post. Also yes, I am very rude, I swear a lot, but most people usually don't get to out of shape about it, it means nothing. Again you come across as very arrogant, I don't hate you, and I don't need to hate anybody for self worth, that's just malicious.
@539forgotten Let me point out that I didn't say anything about you being rude or swearing a lot. 2 "f-bombs" in roughly 1000 characters of comment doesn't qualify as "a lot" to me. Also, I didn't find you to be rude at all. You were expressing an opinion. One that you're well within your rights to have and express. For the record, I don't hate theists, even the really far out ones like the YEC's. I just can't understand how people can believe a fairytale over scientific evidence.
@539forgotten (cont) that theists are mentally weak makes me arrogant, than your assumption that I'm "a past religious person" says the same about you. From what I've read in your posts here, I'd say you're not really an atheist as you claim, you sound to me like a standard weak-minded theist whose claiming to be an atheist to gain credibility. At the very least, even if you do believe you're an atheist, I'd say you're a strong candidate to be a born-again christian.
@morgothic420 Again, you come across as arrogant like you think you know everything. My assumption isn't that you are a past religious person. To truly understand you have to have lived both sides of the pond. You speak as though you know everything, like you are just better than everyone else, you are multi qualified and have copious amounts of life experience.
I used to believe in God, I lost faith and it wasn't scientifically justified=Atheist. You can believe me or reject it, I don't care.
@539forgotten If expressing my opinion makes me sound arrogant, then so be it. Opinions come from experience. Experience comes with time. I'm not trying to attack your age by any means, but I have had twice as much time as you to gain experience and generate informed opinions. My opinions are constantly changing with new experiences, I don't have exactly the same opinions that I had 17 years ago, and I think it's safe to say that you won't have exactly the same opinions in 17 years
@morgothic420 Nope expressing opinions is never something to be contained, nor does the simple act of expressing your opinion male you arrogant. However when you word your opinion to come across as arrogant, it shuts a lot of people down so they ignore you and it attracts people whom are rude and intelligent such as myself to have a go at you. That said. Meh it's just internet, no point me crying over you appearing arrogant and claiming of superiority anymore,
@morgothic420 Also, I kind of misunderstand what you're getting at in the first sentence but to clear the air. So you reject that I'm an Atheist (fair enough) probably because I'm unorthodox in not taking advantage of the internet to claim infinite superiority and knowledge over theists. Back to the point, why would I say you're weak minded because you're Atheist? I was Christian 10-16 and I know what it's like for someone to take the worst and make a sweeping generalization. It's stupid.
@539forgotten The first sentence you are referring to is actually the second half of a sentence that started in the first comment, my 2 comments are meant to be read as one. And I was not implying that you said I was weak minded for being an atheist, I was saying that I think people are weak minded for being theists (no "a"(one who believes in a god or gods)). The idea that people need to believe that an all powerful being is looking out for them to get through life I find sad.
@waycooltoo Atheists believe in nothing, so they stand for nothing, then have to prove nothing, therefore defend nothing, so they can believe in anything. It's a convenient path of least resistance.
@protochris uh wut? Think about what you just said. Atheists believe in nothing so that they can belive in anything. Think about it for a minute or two.
@MsWinterwitch God does not need to provide proof of his existence when there is an abundance of evidence for it. The proof is required from the atheist who can observe the complexities in life and still conclude it all came into being by chance.
@protochris So Atheists have to provide proof that there is no God but theists don't have to? And what's this "evidence" we can't understand how the universe came into being so there for there has to be a god?' That sounds pretty solid <_< do we think we are so divine and special that even though our species have only been here for a brief moment that we already know how everything came into being??
@protochris What are you talking about? There is no evidence. That's the whole point!
And don't you dare say the Bible. What actual evidence do you have? And of course life is complex, that's why it's taking so long to figure out. But that doesn't mean you can fill that gap with a god. So lazy!
@RaHaHaMen There is the observable evidence in the cosmos of an intelligent being of design greater than man, You've decided to fill the gap with another gap be it atheism or social hedonism, and remove all possibility of a divine author. That's not just lazy, it's a total absence of effort.
@protochris What absolute rot. This is not evidence, it's an opinion. You have chosen to believe that a sky daddy did all this for you and I am waiting for evidence either way. My gap is still a gap and I'm happy for it to stay that way until we figure it out. Life is way to complex and wonderful to be cheapened by a god concept.
@RaHaHaMen What I'm seeing from you is not a disbelief in God, but a hatred for the God of the bible. You're extrapolating from one end to the next. It's like being opposed to drunk driving, therefore you believe that all cars should not exist.
@protochris How can I hate something that doesn't exist in my life?
I sometimes get irritated enough to hate god botherers who bang on about it, but it's a passing fancy. I love life. I love that I exist. Religion disappointments me, sometimes to the point of disgust. It's an insult to nature and a blemish on the journey of man.
And as for 'extrapolating', who the hell isn't? You believe and I don't. The rest is conjecture. We're all agnostic.
@protochris 'Agnostic' simply means 'without knowledge', and that is all of us.
And again, atheists cannot hate a god or the concept of one. If an atheist hates a god, it doesn't come from atheism but another part of their psyche. I'm an atheist and an anti theist, but neither of these states allow for hatred of something that doesn't exist to me.
And finally, that is the worst reason to believe in a god. Applying a god to my love of life would lesson the whole experience. Life is enough.
@RaHaHaMen Agnostic means "believing" there is insufficient knowledge, not just being without it-check out Websters. Gnosis from the Greek meant more than our English definition. You may know for example who is Barrack Obama, but you don't have a personal knowledge of him. Gnosis is a more personal word than just having factual data or information about the subject.
@RaHaHaMen Theists believe that life is a gift from a giver (God), not a by product of some freak accident of cosmic gases & lightning bolts . Do you really believe that chaos creates nature, then creates design without a master designer. Too many holes in that theory to be a "whole" experience. Also, where do you get the virtue of "love" for this life, and the senses of sight, smell and sound to enjoy it? We may not have God's picture on file, but his shadow is visible throughout our lives.
@protochris My love and my senses come from the same place: Millions of years of evolution. There are holes in our understanding, that is the beauty of our learning. But these holes are not god shaped. I like that you can't imagine the bigger picture without a god, it shows how limited you are.
I don't trust Websters, it's American. Oxford Dictionary: Agnostic, 1, a person who believes that nothing is known, or can be known, of the existence of God or of anything beyond material phenomena.
This has been flagged as spam show
@ChelevSaRa I think it's a question that can't be answered, because Atheism is a belief in someone's mind that god(s) don't exist. Therefore either you have this belief in your mind or you don't, it cannot be proven.

@Squatch347 an atheist is someone who does not believe. An agnostic is someone who doesnt know.
Those are not opposite positions, and it is perfectly reasonable to hold both positions.

As in an Atheist would say: "Prove God exists" etc.
tcrobot 3 weeks ago
This'll always be the case.
Atheist: Prove God exists. Evolutionary theory. Semi-tangible evidence in the form of fossils etc.
Religious: Prove God doesn't exist. Belief system. A book written thousands of years ago.
Try logic. It might help.

@ChelevSaRa Atheism is the belief of gods in which there are proof for, and none have any undeniable proof yet, so atheists believe in no gods.
Our evidence is the lack of evidence for proving the existence of the gods ;)
If I wrote a book and called it Comkid's Book saying how I'm god, does that make me god? (If you think yes, good job, worship me now!)

Why do atheist try so hard to prove God doesn't exist if they don't even believe in Him?
Maybe way down deep in their soul they do know God exist & are just trying to rebel against Him!
lewiss1100 1 month ago
@lewiss1100 *faceplant
ballyros 1 month ago
@lewiss1100 No, atheists are atheists because there is no evidence to say a god does exist, and we don't try and disprove him because deep down we know he's real but because we've been told from childhood that there is a god and that this is fact despite there being absolutely no evidence to suggest a god exists.
dragonforce525 1 month ago
@lewiss1100 OR
We care about humanity and are incredibly disturbed about how the majority are religious. Also, we don't try to disprove god. Whenever we find a new reason why the concept of god is impossible the religious people change their definition god. At this point they have just about defined him out of existence, so most of us have just given up trying that approach ,
cm3007235 1 month ago
@cm3007235 Difine God?? Who can do that? The vastness of God is immeasurable. Holy, Righteous, Lord, Creator, Master, King, Mercy, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father, Healer, Deliverer, just to name a few of God's countless attributes.
People can deny Him, but none can change who He is. Man can "take God outta places" not really. God is everywhere.
lewiss1100 1 month ago
@lewiss1100 I will never understand why people like you believe this stuff. I kind of get why people believe in god in the deist sense, there is logic to believing that, twisted logic granted, but logic nonetheless. However, there really is no possible logical pathway to attributing attributes like that.
cm3007235 1 month ago
@cm3007235 It's about Faith. Jesus told His disciple Thomas, after His resurection, you have seen me & are blessed by it, but I say unto you those who do not see Me yet believe shall recieve an even greater blessing.
What I can't understand is why so many doubt the existance of God. Jesus, God made flesh, came to the world He created & to save His chosen people. The very ones He came to save rejected Him, but to those who do believe He gives power to become sons of God.
lewiss1100 1 month ago
@lewiss1100 I'm asking HOW YOU KNOW THIS? Saying "It's about faith" is the same thing as saying "I have no reason to believe this but I want to believe it anyway". Do you have any sort of argument for why this is true?
cm3007235 1 month ago
@lewiss1100 There is a subtle difference between a story about a guy not believing something and being shown proof so as to change his mind and actually being a guy not believing something and being shown proof. Atheists are very much like Thomas in this respect. We keep asking for proof, and all we get are stories about a guy just like us who had his mind changed. Do you see the disconnect here?
seleroan 1 month ago
@lewiss110What I can't understand is why so many doubt the existance of God. Jesus" " because we ask for evidence and all we get is bible quotes,,witch not evidence) told we gotta have faith(faith= belief without evidence) there is no evidence any where that is an all powerful being of any type, of any religion. And you offer no reason to beleive in your god any more than any other religion.

Get smart!
tokzan 1 month ago
@tokzan The thing i find most interesting is that these christians ask us to provide evidence, yet, where is their evidence?
Shaterproductions 1 month ago
@Shaterproductions I think that is the point with this video. The christian fool making this video want some sort of revenge cause we atheists are always the ones saying christians shouldn't believe something so hard, when there is no proof what so ever. So here we have a christian moron making this video to get a really lame comeback: Where is the proof for you atheists, that there is no god? But, seriously, 90% of all the christians are retards.
tokzan 1 month ago
Your grossly inaccurate portrayal of atheism illustrates how fundamentally flawed some of these theistic arguments are. Our response is a request for proof - we don't go around asking for proof without a claim initially asserted. I'd call you out on a straw-man, but that would be an appeal to fallacy.

True belief in God is never divorced from authentic science, but it should never be subordinate to it. Science is only required to be sucessful 1% of the time or less to be effective. @csmcmillion From what we've both shown so far my knowledge has way surpassed "the burden of proof lies on the shoulder of the claimant". That is the most basic of argument. Nah, no real fucking point, you have no argument and you state the most simple and common facts.

Am I supposed to be intimidated? You're digging yourself a hole. I'm 17, I have plenty of time to have fun, YouTube is not a place where I need to be grown up. You just come across as unintelligent.

Two generations ago all this could possibly have existed. It could have existed many generations ago but for religion which brought the dark ages and discouraged scientific advancement.
atheistjacob 2 months ago
@protochris Also, if the internet is a myth invented by man, what are you using to type these comments? The internet is a possibility. A quite strong one at that. But you haven't answered the initial issue brought up by my comment and that is to provide documented evidence of something happening that defies all Earthly explanation. As of right now, and until you can answer that issue, you epically fail and I have no need to speak to you.
atheistjacob 2 months ago
@atheistjacob I have no direct evidence to show that God exists, that would be extremely bold to claim. There is only testimonial evidence (the bible) which you would reject, and circumstantial evidence (wisdom & reasoning). I never tried to produce direct evidence, so I don't call that failure.
protochris 2 months ago
@protochris That is failure because theists claim to "know" that God exists and "have evidence" and I ask every theist for the evidence. And I used logic and reasoning to deduce that without evidence there is no reason to believe. But as long as you did use logic and reasoning, your beliefs are yours.
atheistjacob 2 months ago
@protochris Disregard my second reply if you would. It was about an issue I raised with another question. Sleeplessness always gets me. But no one can answer it, either way.
atheistjacob 2 months ago
@protochris No matter how much people want to cling to the past, the reality is that the belief in any religion (again, an organization made by men, not by gods) is outmoded and useless. We now live in the information age, and everyone has access to knowledge, which enriches intelligence and promotes free will, two things religion has been crushing for over 2000 years. I say this: believe in what you want to believe in, but if you can't prove it, don't expect me to believe in the GBSSET.
0lderSch00l 3 months ago

You need the comfort of "god's plan" to get you through your life's failures, so you project your "internal misery" on us.
morgothic420 3 months ago
@morgothic420 Strong enough? Atheists are the weakest mental species on the planet- The path of least resistence. Don't use your senses, just yield to your passions; that's why Atheists have a monopoly on hatred.
Go pick up a history book and see how your philosophy has empowered human beings: communism, nazisms-those beautiful atheistic governments that allowed man such wonderful control of his own destiny.
protochris 3 months ago
@protochris The path of least resistance? Like believing what you are told regardless of how ridiculous it sounds or the lack of any real evidence to support it? Don't use your mind, just yield to your brainwashed delusions; that's why Theists have a monopoly on ignorance.
Go pick up a history book and use some actual though to realize that those systems you mentioned were state run religions whose dictators required god like praise and worship.
morgothic420 3 months ago
@protochris Your assertion that Atheists have a monopoly on hatred is laughable. Religion breeds hatred for those who don't believe as they do. Christians hate Muslims, Jews hate Muslims, Muslims hate Jews and Christians, and all three groups hate Atheists. However, Atheists don't usually hate religious people, we may pity your lack of ability to think for yourself, but we don't hate you. Where we really have problems is when theists force their beliefs on us.
morgothic420 3 months ago
@morgothic420 If god doesn't exist, then it's not religion that breeds hatred, it's ultimately man.
You can't have it both ways. Atheism is a pseudo-elitism, believing that others who don't share your limited vision lack some enlightenment. It's that false elitism that causes prejudice, division, and eventually intolerance. Ultimately, the only recourse for an atheist, is to take those with whom they disagree and line em' up against a wall. Thats why religious freedom is a constitutional right.
protochris 3 months ago
@protochris You're absolutely right, man does breed hatred. Man is constantly inventing new ways to make his prejudice socially acceptable, religion just happens to be the longest lasting. What I find ironic is that everything you've said so far about atheism is actually an attribute of religion. I fully support religious freedom. I really don't care what you believe as long as you don't expect me to believe it. I don't expect to change your mind and you shouldn't expect to change mine.
morgothic420 3 months ago
@morgothic420There can be a fine line between religion and philosophy. In the absence of religion, man will develop a government with a philosophy that is equally oppressive to any religious system. I'm not asking to change anyone, I have several atheist friends that are good people. Theists only ask for respect, something that's lacking from our government and especially the media.
protochris 3 months ago
@morgothic420 Well said. And, may I add, that the fact that religion attempts to insinuate itself into politics, education and science is more than enough cause for "people of reason" to fight back against religion. And, one of the best ways to do that is by criticizing, mocking and exposing the weaknesses of the belief itself, which is based on zero evidence.
uglyandbad 3 months ago
@protochris I guess when someone like you is unable to understand history and simple concepts, we get a bunch of stupid blanked statements like yours. morgothic420 2 months ago
539forgotten 2 months ago
@539forgotten Let me point out that I didn't say anything about you being rude or swearing a lot. 2 "f-bombs" in roughly 1000 characters of comment doesn't qualify as "a lot" to me. Also, I didn't find you to be rude at all. You were expressing an opinion. One that you're well within your rights to have and express. For the record, I don't hate theists, even the really far out ones like the YEC's. I just can't understand how people can believe a fairytale over scientific evidence.
morgothic420 2 months ago
@539forgotten (cont) that theists are mentally weak makes me arrogant, than your assumption that I'm "a past religious person" says the same about you. From what I've read in your posts here, I'd say you're not really an atheist as you claim, you sound to me like a standard weak-minded theist whose claiming to be an atheist to gain credibility. At the very least, even if you do believe you're an atheist, I'd say you're a strong candidate to be a born-again christian.
morgothic420 2 months ago
@morgothic420 Again, you come across as arrogant like you think you know everything. My assumption isn't that you are a past religious person. To truly understand you have to have lived both sides of the pond. You speak as though you know everything, like you are just better than everyone else, you are multi qualified and have copious amounts of life experience.
I used to believe in God, I lost faith and it wasn't scientifically justified=Atheist. You can believe me or reject it, I don't care.
539forgotten 2 months ago

That said. Meh it's just internet, no point me crying over you appearing arrogant and claiming of superiority anymore,
539forgotten 2 months ago
@morgothic420 Also, I kind of misunderstand what you're getting at in the first sentence but to clear the air. So you reject that I'm an Atheist (fair enough) probably because I'm unorthodox in not taking advantage of the internet to claim infinite superiority and knowledge over theists. Back to the point, why would I say you're weak minded because you're Atheist? I was Christian 10-16 and I know what it's like for someone to take the worst and make a sweeping generalization. It's stupid.
539forgotten 2 months ago
@539forgotten The first sentence you are referring to is actually the second half of a sentence that started in the first comment, my 2 comments are meant to be read as one. And I was not implying that you said I was weak minded for being an atheist, I was saying that I think people are weak minded for being theists (no "a"(one who believes in a god or gods)). The idea that people need to believe that an all powerful being is looking out for them to get through life I find sad.

@protochris Oh we`re just SO miserable, Ha Ha Ha ...
waycooltoo 2 months ago
@waycooltoo Atheists believe in nothing, so they stand for nothing, then have to prove nothing, therefore defend nothing, so they can believe in anything. It's a convenient path of least resistance.
protochris 2 months ago
@protochris uh wut? Think about what you just said. Atheists believe in nothing so that they can belive in anything. Think about it for a minute or two.

@protochris prove Jesus existed, prove there is a God, i mean actual proof, not words.

@MsWinterwitch God does not need to provide proof of his existence when there is an abundance of evidence for it. The proof is required from the atheist who can observe the complexities in life and still conclude it all came into being by chance.
protochris 2 months ago
@protochris So Atheists have to provide proof that there is no God but theists don't have to? And what's this "evidence" we can't understand how the universe came into being so there for there has to be a god?' That sounds pretty solid <_< do we think we are so divine and special that even though our species have only been here for a brief moment that we already know how everything came into being??
That's pretty egotistical.
MsWinterwitch 2 months ago
@Ms Theism is quite humbling; it's saying we don't know everything and conceding by the things we observe that there is authorship to life.
protochris 2 months ago
@protochris What are you talking about? There is no evidence. That's the whole point!
And don't you dare say the Bible. What actual evidence do you have? And of course life is complex, that's why it's taking so long to figure out. But that doesn't mean you can fill that gap with a god. So lazy!
RaHaHaMen 2 months ago
@RaHaHaMen There is the observable evidence in the cosmos of an intelligent being of design greater than man, You've decided to fill the gap with another gap be it atheism or social hedonism, and remove all possibility of a divine author. That's not just lazy, it's a total absence of effort.
protochris 2 months ago
@protochris What absolute rot. This is not evidence, it's an opinion. You have chosen to believe that a sky daddy did all this for you and I am waiting for evidence either way. My gap is still a gap and I'm happy for it to stay that way until we figure it out. Life is way to complex and wonderful to be cheapened by a god concept.
RaHaHaMen 2 months ago
@RaHaHaMen What I'm seeing from you is not a disbelief in God, but a hatred for the God of the bible. You're extrapolating from one end to the next. It's like being opposed to drunk driving, therefore you believe that all cars should not exist.
protochris 2 months ago
@protochris How can I hate something that doesn't exist in my life?
I sometimes get irritated enough to hate god botherers who bang on about it, but it's a passing fancy. I love life. I love that I exist. Religion disappointments me, sometimes to the point of disgust. It's an insult to nature and a blemish on the journey of man.
And as for 'extrapolating', who the hell isn't? You believe and I don't. The rest is conjecture. We're all agnostic.
RaHaHaMen 2 months ago
@RaHaHaMen Agnostic is defined by "how" we believe, not whether or not it can be proven, so I'm not agnostic.
protochris 2 months ago
@protochris 'Agnostic' simply means 'without knowledge', and that is all of us.
And again, atheists cannot hate a god or the concept of one. If an atheist hates a god, it doesn't come from atheism but another part of their psyche. I'm an atheist and an anti theist, but neither of these states allow for hatred of something that doesn't exist to me.
And finally, that is the worst reason to believe in a god. Applying a god to my love of life would lesson the whole experience. Life is enough.
RaHaHaMen 2 months ago
@RaHaHaMen Agnostic means "believing" there is insufficient knowledge, not just being without it-check out Websters. Gnosis from the Greek meant more than our English definition. You may know for example who is Barrack Obama, but you don't have a personal knowledge of him. Gnosis is a more personal word than just having factual data or information about the subject.
protochris 2 months ago
@RaHaHaMen Theists believe that life is a gift from a giver (God), not a by product of some freak accident of cosmic gases & lightning bolts . Do you really believe that chaos creates nature, then creates design without a master designer. Too many holes in that theory to be a "whole" experience. Also, where do you get the virtue of "love" for this life, and the senses of sight, smell and sound to enjoy it? We may not have God's picture on file, but his shadow is visible throughout our lives.
protochris 2 months ago
@protochris My love and my senses come from the same place: Millions of years of evolution. There are holes in our understanding, that is the beauty of our learning. But these holes are not god shaped. I like that you can't imagine the bigger picture without a god, it shows how limited you are.
I don't trust Websters, it's American. Oxford Dictionary: Agnostic, 1, a person who believes that nothing is known, or can be known, of the existence of God or of anything beyond material phenomena.
RaHaHaMen 2 months ago
@RaHaHaMen 2, a person who is uncertain or non-committal about a certain thing.
It's an absence of knowledge. All of us.
RaHaHaMen 2 months ago
@RaHaHaMen "believes" is the key word; belief does not require knowledge.
protochris 2 months ago
@protochris Exactly.
RaHaHaMen 2 months ago
@RaHaHaMen God must be too big to fit into your small holes .
protochris 2 months ago
@RaHaHaMen It's alot easier to fill those holes with "self" than God.
protochris 2 months ago
@protochris Of course, but that's why I'm happy to wait for science to figure it out. I'm not interested in any god of gaps, that's for the theists.
