geez ! ..I have the same kinda problem in my truck !..everytime i go into idle at a stop sign, it goes down ,if i accelerate it will go into the normal pressure space...guess will have to wait for more posts to clarify this kind of behavior !..keep posting !
@AQUARIO07, ok, you might have an oil pump failure, we had a dodge ram van with only 76k miles on it... oil pump was weak, when the engine is cold, oil pressure was fine until it warms up, it loses pressure, enough to make the oil pressure warning light to come on, so have your oil pressure checked out at a service center to see if your oil pump is good or bad, my 96 dodge pickup has that problem, at idle its fine, then driving, it's 0, it had a oil pump sending unit failure,
@SpiritsoftheWolf i have this problem exactly as you said it at a Renault Clio mk1 1,8 16v... when is cold i have almost 3 bar press... when it get warm, hardly at 3000+ rpm i have 1 bar... my valves are not manual are with an oil system, and not even 1 valve sounds to hit like tik tik tik...... I should check 1st my oil pump?
@johnelys, locate your oil pressure sending unit, and replace it with a mechanical oil pressure gauge, and get a reading on it with the engine running, if it still shows 3 bars at cold oil and at warm oil at 1 bar, oil pump replacement is needed, do that idea 1st before going into the engine and replacing the oil pump, good luck
gague is bad. if you had no oil pressure, ur cars motor woulda seized by now.

If your filter is orange, throw it out.

could be a loose ground wire or possibly bad or weak oil pump
partyboyperk 1 year ago
just a bad sensor or lose wire
