They did used to be a much bigger 'artists collective,' a bit like chumbawamba, only less po-faced, but there was some big falling out over money or similar and they lost a lot of the people who were extraneous to the essential core band, including Slymenstra Hymen and the Sexecutioner. The faces behind the masks of beefcake and flatus have changed a time or two as well afaik.

Arguably their heaviest album yet. It's great but it's a little lacking in the humor department. Not balanced but still as awesome as GWAR always is.

You know, I take back what I said. Beyond hell is fairly balanced between awesome metal and humor. I went back and listened to Violence Has Arrived and that wasn't like BH at all. It was still awesome but there wasn't much humor. Abyss of Woe and Song of Words were great but not much laughs

It actually shows the "mind behind the mask," if that at all makes sense.

I think this and Violence Has Arrived are the best albums. :)
