How does Strauss attack you guys, the Brujah who said they fought him. Does he use magic or what ?

I cannot get this conversation to start, I reinstalled it about 100 hundred times and did everything I have to, quests, etc...

And still won't start :(

@emilecristof To get this conversation, you have to have joined the Chantry, which means: a) being Tremere, b) Completed the Plague quest for Strauss and c) resolving the difficulties with the gargoyle with Strauss' knowledge, and without selling him out to the Isaac. Can be a bit tricky!

@XOR101 Dude, I did all of that. I think It's just that I seem to be screwing up the installation. I Install the latest unofficial patch first, then the clan quest mod, and then the resolution patch. And I can't get it right, but I don't want to play it without the resolution patch.

@emilecristof Ah, you really shouldn't install different patches/mods together. That can cause all kinds of problems. Although since you installed UP *before* CQM, I wouldn't expect this issue. Either way, the best thing to do would be to uninstall and reinstall with just CQM and res patch. The latest version of CQM includes the latest version of UP, so there's no reason to install it separately anyways.

Hehe.Poor Max Strauss...I installed the 2.1 clan quest mod and played as Brujah (of course).The quest was to obtain an artifact from the tremere heaven,the one talisman that increases thaumaturgy powers by 40% when you play as Tremere.So,it was needed to either go to Chinatown and get an antimagic item from that weirdo Mr.OX.But i didnt want to wait,so I rushed in and KILLED Strauss!Got the head warlock out toe to toe!Quest was disappointing as it only gave me 8 XP...Point is,BRUJAH OWNS BABY!!

@SwiftBladeTT Maybe only 8XP, but it should give you +1 in one of your stat's too. That can be worth up to 12XP, plus what you get from the quest.

I'm curious... if this is a mod, how did you get these voice files? Unless this isn't his original voice, but I'm pretty sure it is... or, of course, unless the files were just there, but unused.

@XOR101 Ah, excellent. I've never heard a decent voice replacement in a mod before - either the actor was terrible or the recording quality was terrible - so I was caught off guard.

@XOR101 Please do, he's one of the better voice actors I've heard in a game. :) Yes, I did see some negative feedback, although I was pleased that at least one person was kind enough to explain their concerns. I'll be sure to download this mod when I do my Tremere playthrough. Have you done any others like this? I'll check your channel, but am on my break at work and don't have the time right now.

@Dalladon Hmm, sorry to hear you think so. Most people think it's quite good! Could you say specifically what it is you don't like?

@XOR101 It is the voice in particular, Maximillian Strauss has a very characteristic voice. It is not enough to whisper and sound mysterious as the tone of voice clearly is different - I sense that it comes close by at the end of the video. Strauss like Gary and Beckett have unique ways of talking as they are hard to copy just like that. You will hear the switch and it can really destroy the immersion. Think for example of Oblivion with the beggar women/men that change to poshbritish in rumors.

It's very hard to find good voice actors! Anyways, I will let him know about your feedback so he can try harder in his future projects.

@XOR101 Don't worry too much about it XOR101 - I am just a huge fan of those characters and they are hard to not fall in love with. But Beckett for example is after all a classical actor behind the voice acting which makes it hard to get the same effect. :)

@Dalladon Just out of curiosity, what do you think of the Beckett clip (look on my youtube channel if you haven't already seen it)? It's done by the same guy. I think he does a really good job of it, but I'm curious as to what you think?

@XOR101 Ok - I see he follows the right track just like with Strauss - Here I sense the pausing, and the actual dimension in the spoken dialogue is correct, but I still lack the little thing that makes it good - The same goes with Strauss - It is the fact that the voice I hear is flat. Despite following the formula of dialogue the voice fails to give it the dimension that is build up by the strategicly really good talent of dialogue. But I must say as you did - Good Voiceactors are hard to find.

A fourth discipline!? Sweet! By the way, depending on the terms, what is your favorite clan and in your opinion, the best clan in the game?

@Ryan007N Hmm, I'd have to say my personal favorite clan is Malkavian. In the game they have the most different experience, plus they are just fun. Their abilities are also pretty cool. I like to idea of turning peoples' minds to mush.

In Bloodlines though, I think that the Tremere are probably the best clan. They get their own haven, plus their abilities are really out of control. You can basically just use Blood Purge to lock most bosses down completely!

What do you get if you complete the quest?

There's actually several different rewards you can get based on the choices you make during the quest. Most notable though, is a fourth discipline - either celerity of obfuscate, again based on the decisions you make.
