Even worse than the eathquake is the large brittle chunks of concrete that has collapsed on victims. What does the architectural corporations responsible plan on doing about material and design improvments? What will be done about existing unaffected buildings with the same flaws?

The donation efficiency (how much of your donated $ goes directly to relief program): US Red Cross: 94%, Mercy Corps: 88%, World Vision: 87%, Oxfam (US): 79%. The Tsinghuafoundation forwards the tax deducible donation 100% to Red Cross China & I suspect it's the best one for donation (since $ buys more in China & purchase helps local economy too).
