We had much better toys, games, cartoons, and music back then. Things seemed less complex than what they are now. too bad our kids are more into video games than playing board games that make them interact with other children.. Or go outside to play hopscotch/tag/four square/or even knick, knock like back in the day... lol.

Toys and games have hardly changed as alot of the oldschool game companies are still going.

And you would be surprised at how good MLP actually is these days. It has important lessons to teach about friendship. I always thought the old MLP took the viewers for idiots because it was simply mind numbing, its nothing like that anymore but its still just as enjoyable for kids. Most other cartoons do suck now though...

And in regards to kids interacting, video games are all online nowadays, if a kid is gonna go to his friends house and they are just gonna play video games anyway they may aswell just play together from their own homes, gaming consoles have voice chat and everything these days.

Its bad enough recess and PE have been taken out of some school districts.. so when I say its too bad for them.. it actually is.
