Hey, I know it's not in the disco era, but... I just transferred a WKYS aircheck to CD from cassette. It's from January 4, 1991, commercials and all, with some very good music. It's the Friday Afternoon Traffic Jam with Sammy Mac, featuring Super DJ Gregg Diggs, and towards the end, at the six-o'clock hour, Alvin Jones steps in with slow jams till midnight. It's about 43 minutes long. Does anyone here know how I can post it?
Convert it to cd or your windows media player. Save it than upload it to Youtube. Use the help button here on y. Maybe it explains it better than I could.
I have some music that I recorded from WKYS but it's recorded on a tape. Do you have any ideas how I can make it to an mp3, etc so I can upload it on here lol?
All of this was from cassettes as well. I downloaded a FREE program called AUDACITY. I plugged my tape deck into the computer with Mic or Line In input and recorded the audio into AUDACITY. Saved it as wav. files and I was good to go. The trick is balancing the audio levels because it's really easy to distort the audio.
Wow that is great! What is the webiste so I can download that program? I would like that becuase I have alot of tapes that I recorded from wpgc and kys that I would like to upload into youtube. Help me out buddy ;)
I really need to. I've been thinking about it lately... but it will have to be chopped up into sections, won't it? I need to learn how to actually do this.
Not to worry, TheGreatMozeek, Puffy ain't gettin play ANYwhere... with his overexposed, played-out, no-talkin, inarticulate ass. "Howard graduate?" I bet that makes intelligent H.U. alumna like my boys from Shai and Ananda Lewis just CRINGE! lol...... for real. "Take that take that take that take that." Real deep, puff.
There you go again -- posting one of D.C.'s favorite old school songs! THANKS! This is the 12" version. I used to have it, unfortunately, I moved and had to give up all of my albums and 12's. Kept the 45's though. Awe, Donnie Simpson...whew I miss home.
sueskins: Sounds like code for: I did a bid but moms found room for the 45s in the sewing room! Naw, I do know what it's like to lose ya record collection. Mine due to theft. Thousands of em.
Good Stuff from WKYS back in the day, this was back when NBC owned it. Still hard to believe they owned a station that was R&B back then

Odog, you could play The Police on WKYS TODAY,
but it would have to be sampled by PUFFY first.
