Agreed. The Viper is pretty f@ckin cool even though I've never used one. It has to be easily one of the best Generation 1's ever made, at least in value-for-money. Only thing that sucks is it's a monocular vision goggle.

How cool would it be if it were a binocular vision goggle?

I'm gettin one regardless. Seen the video on Tube and it looks slick. Cool green colour, piss light, piss small, cool looking and awesome resolution. 5/5

Thats phenomenal so much difference than lower gen's really clean clear picture, does it have auto focusing because a lot of gen 1 menoculars you have to refocus when you move.

so far still on origional batt. they last bloody ages. the good thing is they are normal AA batts not CR123 like others use, they cost a fortune.i just leave a spare in my pocket

It cannot compete with the latest US tubes from Litton or ITT. The EEV is also slightly weaker than Photonis HyperGen (DEP XD-4) in overall.

well my friend,

this scope is a gen 3. my other video through the scope is possible without additional light, IR lamp etc, but i filmed it with an IR to give it more light.with this video i did not need any additional light as the gen3 amplifies the avalable light so much more than gen 1. as for videoing i just put the camera to the eye piece. with your gen 1 you will need an Infra red light source be it an Ir lamp or IR lazer.

on the lens at the front, there is an iris. you turn it one way one notch at a time. the iris starts to open and lets more light in. you can see this on my dog. its realy good when the light is bright or using an ir lamp

atn sucks. an atn gen1 is probobly the worst night vision you could buy. save your money and get a gen2+milspec d300 for around 1000. you can head mount it, mount it to a helmet, or weapon mount it. combined with an IR illuminator like the surefire m1 you will have an excellent night time set up. i can hit a man sized target at over 100 yards using my IR laser or mounted behind my eotech.

man i miss hunting predators with a night vision scope, when you call in a coyote or a bobcat at 4am it gets pretty intense. Called in a mountain lion one night, he froze up at 100yds, luckily, I had only a .17 hmr. Unfortunately they outlawed hunting with night vision where i live. I still hunt at night, with a large objective lens scope w/ an illuminated reticle, works fine out to 100yds.

careful with atn i had a gen 1 scope of theirs and it went out within a month...also tried a gen 2 monocular of theirs it lasted all of 1 week they make genuine crap...at this point i would never buy from them again

i know. i had a Gen 1 monoucular, it was ok with a million candle power lamp with IR filter but this gen 3 with the same lamp is awsome on total dark nights. this mono fits on my rifle scope and i can take rabbits at 150yds plus at 10 times mag, they are as clear as day. im sorting out some more vid at rabbits looking through the scope, just waiting for the weather to sort its self out. thanks for all your comments.

yes practicaly. it was about 10.30 at night it gets dark about 4.30. the hut and notie board are 100yds away and the hedge and tree line are abot 200yds. the monocular has a mag of X2. it was darker where my dog Kuperina was, as she was shaded by my house. thanks for your comment.
