Yes buildings are strong, but they were never designed to withstand a collision from a fully fuelled jetliner, particularly not one moving as fast as the ones that actually hit the building. The stresses and forces involved were enormous. It is entirely feasible that the main structure was weakened so that one floor gave way, and from there, the rest of the building had to follow

i would not want to think that the government did it either but the chances of them being involved are HIGH. reasons are: the towers disintegrated to dust. 200 ton steel framed buildings pulverized into dust. which leads me to believe that explosives were planted before hand. & how would one plant explosives in the towers without having the trouble of dealing with security? the government perhaps? & why would they do this? to gain consent of the people to take over the middle east.

why i think explosives were planted in the twin towers. in 1945 a plane hit the empire state building. the fires did not cause the skyscraper to collapse in a floor pancaking motion. another reason why i think the government was involved: they lied about wtc 7. which the government stated that it was collapsed by a fire. the truth is, it was a controlled demolition. why would the government lie about this? why would anyone lie about anything? they have something to hide.

The appropriate way to look at this is to say no towers have ever been hit by a fully loaded commercial jet traveling at 500mph before and then been allowed to burn until their steal truss system weakened and collapsed. That is not the way to react to people who are trying to scare you. The best thing we could have done was react to this by adhering closer to our core values of freedom, tolerance and adherence to the principles of human rights, rather than selectively abandoning them - the torture cases have been a classic example of the latter happening.
I have faith in humanity, and I still believe we have the moral high ground, but the possibility of that changing is something to be avoided at all costs.

I was 5 years old when this happened, I am now 16 years old. When this happened I just smiled and had no idea what happened, now I look back and am absolutely disgusted with what happened; and also with the responses some of these 'keyboard warriors' are typing, you should be ashamed of your selves.

I was only 4 when this happened. Now that I see it as an older individual, capable of understanding the stakes, It brakes my heart. It makes me realize what kind of world I live in, and I would have given my life in a second if it meant saving those people, so many people killed, families destroyed by those demons. It just goes to show that we may look different, or speak different, or come from different places but our hearts do beat as one, everyone's, everyone's except Satan's pawns that is.

when I saw the crash. I felt empty....like I wasn't even there...and all I could do was stare at the smoke and hear the screams of horror and agony.... I don't know if I was going to die....I thought we were being attacked..and then my parents carried me out and there was a massive wave of people running... I can't believe what I saw and everytime I see this I have nightmares but I cannot forget this day because many innocent lives were lost to the hands of evil. Rest In Peace 9/11 victims.

I was 11 and I can remember what I was doing (I was homeschooled so I was doing my english) and I can remember my mom answering a phone call from my dad. He told my mom to turn on the television because two planes had just hit the World Trade Centers. My dad couldn't believe what he saw, his first thought was that it was a movie on television. That day changed America forever.

That's a horrific moment actually - the smoke from the collapse disappears and it gradually becomes more obvious there's no building left behind it....
It's such a huge event I almost don't know what to feel about having lived through it. I wonder what people will say a hundred years from now when they watch footage like this. I hope they wonder how on earth people could ever justify something like this. If people are thinking like that, the world will have become a better place.

I lived in Alexandria VA that's only about 15 mins from DC, when the plane hit, the floor of my school trembled as if there was a very small earthquake. The teachers knew that something wasn't right. I didn't understand. A few days past my best friend wasn't at school, I was too young to understand. I was 6 and remember it exactly. I was in 1st grade, and students started being called down over the loudspeakers to be picked up. I remember wondering what was going on and being scared because I was only 1 of the few kids left in my class. When I got home my parents were glued to the t.v and my mom was constantly calling my uncle, he's a city firefighter, to see if he was ok. I remember seeing the smoke from my house and being so confused. I was so young, I wish I could have understood.

Yes buildings are strong, but they were never designed to withstand a collision from a fully fuelled jetliner, particularly not one moving as fast as the ones that actually hit the building. The stresses and forces involved were enormous. It is entirely feasible that the main structure was weakened so that one floor gave way, and from there, the rest of the building had to follow
