  • Funny fact, Denmark is now planning build a new tunnel and/or bridge from Lolland to Germany, we cant stop building apparently.

  • truly amazing....genius... =)

  • Impossible Bridge?? NO, Unbelievable Bridge...

  • Governor Christie of New Jersey needs to be tied to a chair and forced to watch this documentary!

  • d:

note only the swedish side have permanent tolls (creating lots of tailbacks)

  • According to the latest inspections the bridge is corroding to fast and the vibrations from the trains cause concretepanels to fall of. The positive thing is that is has accelerated the development of the region and increased bio-diversity. Unfortunately the Danish have decided to reinstate bordercontrols so it has become an annoyance to wait in queve at the bridge especially if you work in one country and live in the other.

  • a good video, but it did not go into the piers that extend out from the main towers. what is their design?

  • On time and budget? WOW!

  • @libb3n americans cant seem to do that

  • just imagine if all world come together with all resources to build something really extra ordinary. A super mega project that has the backing of all the resources of the world. Something that astonishes the aliens.

  • Fantastic achievement! What is not so obvious is the contribution of the pure sciences (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) to an applied discipline like the Engineering in order to build this mega structure. That is, this is an artwork due to and made of the blood, sweat and tears of every great man or woman of Philosophy and Science, since the ancient Greeks.

  • Truely awesome - enjoyed that. I'll be crossing it in a couple of weeks, in my Land Rover en-route to Norway!

  • there is a certain inherent beauty in well-planned systems.

  • Its marvels like these that make me see that humans have a reason to be here in the universe. Too bad not everyone is open-minded enough to really appreciate these

  • thank you so much for uploading:)!

  • MARVELOUS!

  • fantastic..Keep it up!!!

  • thought i would only watch the first one but got hooked for the series..great doco...thanks for uploading.............

  • this is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!!

  • We are amazing animals. magnificent in our endeavors. Imagine using our skills and prowess with conquering problems just for good. No wars, no hunger, all of us humans enjoying the fruits of our labors. I hope I see it in my lifetime.

  • @godbluffvdgg humans are greedy and self fish !!

  • Absolutely fantastic program. Thanks for uploading!

  • 44 million passing in 5 years for the bridge the cost of 3 billion dollars...how are they going to get their money back? What's the toll charge?!

  • i think its going to be around for some time, so they'll probably make a profit, in like another decade

  • I think its more like 75 years+ the 44 million passing paid maybe on average 5 dollars per person (as building cost is given in dollars) 5 X 44 = 220 million dollars for 5 years. At that rate it would b paid of in 100 years time and that doesn't include upkeep costs....

  • True... but have you included the economic benefits it has created between the two countries?

  • It costs like from $35 for a car oneway ticket =)

  • Actually it cost about 110.18 dollar to go to Denmark and return. If you multiply 44.000.000 times with 110.18 dollars it would be around 4.847.920.000 dollars

  • The toll charges currently are:

    Motorcycles: 20,8 EUR/29,9 USD

    Cars: 38,3 EUR/54,9 USD

    Cars w. trailer/ busses <9m: 76,6 EUR/109,9 USD

    Busses +9m: 157,9 EUR/ 226,7 USD

    Trucks 9-20m: 131 EUR/ 188,1 USD

    Trucks +20m: 196,6 EUR/ 282,2 USD

  • Great watch!

  • so great information!

  • The Swan (Svanen) also help at building the Greatbelt bridge (Storebælts Broen) but had to be build about 10 meters taller to be able to rerach the meters up to the deck of Oresundbron ( Øresundsbron, wich is a compromise of Danish and Swedish)

  • Fascinating program. I was hoping for more info about linking the bridge to the tunnel though. I remember Wikipedia saying something about how the island is a massive wildlife reserve or something.

  • Genius engineering!Fantastic megastructure!!

  • The only thing I'm left wondering is, to Danish people living in Sweden have to learn Swedish before you go there, and vice versa for Swedish people going to Denmark? That seems like a lot of work just to live or work somewhere.

  • Since atleast the fifties when the Nordic passport union was introduced. Citizens of any Nordic country may cross borders freely and settle/work in whatever Nordic country that suites them.

  • I was talking about learning the languages

  • Danish to Swedish are like England English to Scottish English. It's a dialect continuum. Any "Scandinavian" speaker can atleast grasp what the other is trying to express.

  • That is interesting, thanks for sharing that.

  • It really helped me grasp how people live in countries speaking different languages than theirs.

  • oooooooooooohhh my god :-o, it is Amaizing. thanks for uploding :)

  • i crossed it by train and car in 2005 august. its soooooooo cool

  • Only 2.600 views, Is quite disappointing.

  • Incredible. I have to see that one day.

  • lo, peeps of 7m and 7b. What is up?

  • great video, very informative. hope to see more like this. great works of modern engineering marvels.
