  • @ab102798 I have an 07 civic ex sedan automatic and I took a trip to Florida and maxed out at 43.8 mpg. And I have a pretty heavy foot. I ADORE the civics:)

  • Fastest civic so far

  • my friends dad has the civic hybrid and he gets 41 mpg!!!!!

  • my Subaru is faster.

  • Whoa,9.5-10 secs!! Watch out Hyundai Elantras! I see so many EX's with fart cannons and guys acting like they're in S2000's in them. So much fun to blow away with my gay assed Pontiac Sunfire.

  • Shifts rights at the redline...I love that.

  • oy vey. This is a dissapointment and sounds terrible too

  • @TobeNuts4U got 8.6

  • LOL 5 speed?! Someone should let Honda know its 2012. The 1-2 shift was nothing special but that drop from 2-3 was hilarious. That 2-3 is like straight out of a 90's Grand Am or something.

  • @jeep6242 I think he let off the gas right when the car shifted 2-3 so that's why....

  • When are you going to test the new Mustang GT 5.0?? Ive been asking for like a year :(

  • @USFCARTWRIGHT I've been asking, too! They're tough to snag here. I rented one for a couple of days to get around LA when I was out for X Games this past summer ... it was awesome. I will start begging again in a couple of months. (They take the Mustangs out of the NYC media fleet in the winter time.)

  • not good not bad

  • Why does the colour change from blue to green beside the speedo?

  • @Vintagesansui800 Not 100% but I think it's something to help drivers drive more efficiently. The greener it is, the more MPG you're achieving. It only turns blue when you really get on it I think,

  • @Vintagesansui800 It's a fuel economy thing, as @NissanDriver15 mentioned. Honda's color-based MPG gauges work well in practice ... you don't have to take your eyes off the road to watch little numbers.

  • Where is the review? i wanna see what ur mpg was‼

  • @ayoshipo Hang in there ... Working on the Rio video now. Civic is next up.

  • V-TEC just kicked in yo!

  • I quite like the 2.2litre diesel turbo manual one! The one thing that puts me off is the display, I'm not sure I would get used to it. A very long time ago the first car here in the UK to have a digital display was the Austin Maestro and the Montego, the Maestro even had a voice synth and said "fasten your seatbelt" and "low fuel" etc. Here I can get the Type R for under £20k or 3 yr old diesel for £6k with low mileage. For people in USA, diesel is equivalent to $13/imperial gallon, petrol $12

  • There really isnt much i dont like about 8+ gen civics. they have an extrordinary design!

  • It's not bad ...but....well you know haha

  • When is the Kia Rio review coming out?

  • @godwhomismike Aiming for Monday!

  • Nice car, But I think a Cruze would be better for my taste.

  • @codeGard17 Cruzes are nice but the one we have had to go into the dealership at 6k miles because the trasmission decide to stop going forward. I really hope it was just a fluke.

  • @lawnmowerdude Ouch! I hope it is, all the Cruze needs is more quality matierals inside, more power, hatchback and coupe, then its set to go!

  • i think this gauge cluster looks nicer than the previous generation

  • although i love technology, i still prefer a conventional gauge over a digital or a screen

  • @conceptcs same here, much prefer a normal looking dashboard. Hondas are known for good quality (in the UK) but the dealers are not up to much, many farm their work out to smaller garages. You pay full price for a service! The Hondas Civic has a Boy Racer reputation, so insurance is high for everything apart from the diesel. I wouldn't say no, but this model Civic Type R is nowhere near as fast or as good at handling as the previous one. A 1.8 must be SLOW!

  • So easy to beat these in races. Fuel efficient, though

  • @xdx1990 Love seeing these types of hondas pull beside me thinking they fast lol

  • Shocked to see that there are people that actually like these gauges. I dont think I could ever get used to them.

  • I still prefer analog speedometers over digital. It's just too weird to accelerate and see 0, 9, 15, 21, 28, 35 instead of an arrow smoothly going through the numbers.

  • Its quick& the engine sounds great as the RPM fluctuates but it so can use a 6AT to alleviate those long shifts. Hopefully Honda wont soon plague it with a CVT like they're about to do with the next generation 4 Cyl Accords.

  • I like the guage cluster myself. Especially since its on the driver side, not the middle like the yaris!

  • in a word, the guage cluster design on this and the last (hardly!) gen civic: superfluous.

  • @bajabusta Have you ever checked out the S2K's dash? It's crazy simple. One of these days I'll get around to shooting mine.

  • @mpgomatic i have driven one briefly (once i finally managed to fit in), from what I understand the A-pillar impeded on my entry. Yes, the guages from my recolection were the epitome of clean and concise. Shameful how gimicky some auto makers get.

  • @bajabusta I'm not that tall, so getting in isn't the killer, it's getting out. (Everything's easier with the top down.) The Lotus Elise is the toughest car I've ever climbed into ... Gotta learn the dance steps to fit in that little beast.
