There IS a way of stopping people in Nigeria or Ghana, or wherever, from getting on these sites - block their IP addresses. Admittedly there are workarounds with proxy servers, and VPNs, but basically, if your IP address is displayed as being in Nigeria or Ghana, you won't be able to join No offence to Nigerians or Ghanaians, but if you're not in the US or UK, you shouldn't be able to get away with pretending you are

This is probably the reason Nigeria has one of the fastest growing economies in Africa. I second the idea to cut off internet access to the country until the Nigerian authorities crack down on the gangs running these scams. Western Union should also be forced to suspend incoming international payments or at the very least co-ordinate a ban list of known scammers with Interpol and the Nigerian security services. The scams are run by the local mafia so identifying them should be relatively easy.

One scammer I fell for was an active member of a romance scam group, in that I seeked help for another Russian scam issue,that months later turned out to be 20 years older than me, but on the internet shared photos and so on to show she? was a honest christian.
But in time I learned to trust again, came to America from Australia met my now wife Sandy... and now we both help people who was scammed also.

This is probably the reason Nigeria has one of the fastest growing economies in Africa. I second the idea to cut off internet access to the country until the Nigerian authorities crack down on the gangs running these scams. Western Union should also be forced to suspend incoming international payments or at the very least co-ordinate a ban list of known scammers with Interpol and the Nigerian security services. The scams are run by the local mafia so identifying them should be relatively easy.

Hey people.I once was far away in Azerbaijan.met a girl online from USA.she had been sending me money for 2.5 years over 10.000$ until i got an opport-ty to come to US.Now we are happily ,married,have daughter.not all of it is scam.

One scammer I fell for was an active member of a romance scam group, in that I seeked help for another Russian scam issue,that months later turned out to be 20 years older than me, but on the internet shared photos and so on to show she? was a honest christian.
But in time I learned to trust again, came to America from Australia met my now wife Sandy... and now we both help people who was scammed also.
Their is hope and I wish people Happiness, you must meet face to face not just Net.

@steven9444 I agree with that, I feel sorry for people who do fall for scams, but the fact that the man who was supposed to be a white american has a african accent, surely she must've thought there was something strange, if I was to talk to a white girl from birmingham and found out that she speaks with an indian accent on the phone, I would definetly think she wasn't real.

"i am english or american and live( study) in africa.i have expirenced it.i was chatting with a girl.she was very nice for few weeks and suddenly mentioned about some prpblems with hotel or something.

I can attest to not only my friends but myself receiving emails that would appear to be the same sort of entrapment schemes, sent directly to our rmails and nothing to do with dating sites. It's good to broadcast these videos so that unsuspecting people (and there are a lot) will be enlightened by this information.
