Audrina Patridge gave an interview where she said the early seasons were real and not scripted but towards the end they made up storylines/drama so that it was no longer real. Lauren had a lot of real life things happen they could focus on. Not sure of the time line but I think Lauren had started dating someone during her last season who didn't want to be involved with the show...so I'm guessing that is where they started making up storylines and possibly the real reason Lauren wanted out.

I think the end of this video is really beautiful, because it's kind of like Lauren's saying goodbye to the show and she's kind of sayin' to Kristin ''Here you go, you can have it.. I'm going to do much better and bigger than the show.'' that's kinda what it looks like and I think it's beautiful :)

Because Lauren originally kicked her off the boat before they left, I'm confused as to whether Heidi and Lauren's crying/make-up scene on her birthday boat was legit if Lauren was so mad at the producers and Heidi for staying aboard. I don't think you can fake emotion like that but I'm still ???

The show is nothing without Lauren. The show went downhill in the ratings once she left, which is the reason its was cancelled.

the hills was definitely never the same. for me, what made the show is that lauren wasn't dramatic. her situations and her friends were and that's what made show great was watching a non dramatic person react to dramatic moments. kristin on the other hand is drama personified and brings it wherever she goes so the show no longer had that special element.

i'm so confused. i always thought this new season is season 7? that kristen did season 6 and now 7. and that lauren finished season 5. but it appears that this is only season 6 but im sure kristen had a season before and that lauren did 5 seasons.

@hilsnchad The final season which just finished tonight, was season 6. Season 5 was broken up into two parts. The first part was the first like 12 episodes with Lauren and her goodbye to show, and the last 12 episodes of season 6 were welcoming Kristin to the show. In between those times, the show took a 4 month break before beginning the second half of season 6.

She's has become fame-crazed XD The record and clothing lines she's tried to launch was all an attempt at becoming more famous. But really, the name Heidi Montag/Pratt isn't a name that screams famous to me. sure, a lot of people know who she is but she was never the star or face of the hills and will therefore only be recognized as a Hills co-star. The surgeries is just her being stupid and using her money and "fame" to make herself feel better. It's just stupidity XD

@Novasingularity Yes. I agree with you. A big part of the show is fiction. But look at Heidi now, beyond the show, with all the surgeries, and the record she made. It's seems like she lost her mind!

Sure spencer's an ass. but keep in mind that the hills was following a script. not word for word, but a lot of the actions where actually supposed to happen. like laurens and heidi's "reunion" was the producers idea to make lauren leaving the hills seem like more of an happy ending rather than her just getting a boyfriend. Also, the phone call where spencer apologizes to lauren was framed. he never called actually, they where both talking to the phone at seperate times and then it was all -->

I know and she would never have thought about getting plastic surgery. All that fame got to her when she was with Spencer. She is only 23 years old. It is sad to see and she is gonna have so many problems with her body later in life. And no wonder why Lauren hated Spencer and he was the reason they split up as friends too. I hate him!!!!!!!
