Mesh tape will work. You can overlap 2 pieces to make a larger one. You do not want to use the metal mesh. It doesn't work. I get Duck brand mesh tape in rolls at Walmart or Ace brand sheets at Ace. Again, it is the same thing just a different size and both work fine.
What an amazing idea! Sometimes you just don't want to weld your letters and you want to keep the nice spacing but it's so fiddly getting the pieces back in the right positions. Came here from ScrappyDew's video. Thank you so much!
This is the best idea. I tried it after seeing this video and it works. omg, what a wonderful thing. it has made labeing easier. In fact the mesh is great to align letters and words because lays the letters on a grid. 5 stars
Ya the circle cutting is pretty cool.. my guess is you used the cricut software on your computer first? Thats a fantastic Idea, will have to check for the full 8x8 sheets here, all I've seen was the wall strips, (when we were drywalling) GREAT IDEA!! Thanks for sharing your creative idea!! Appreciate ladies like yourself that are willing share there creative side!

I've only been able to find the tape or square mesh made of metal... Will that work?

It comes on rolls too. Check the drywall "patching" section for a choice of sizes.
