This slave Barbary trade was not contingent upon race and was not systemically designed to degrade and categorize the slaves as sub-human or inferior. Also, 1.25 million European slaves were taken as opposed to 12 million Africans transported to the Americans. Ottomon Muslims did enslave, NOT Black Africans.
you're nit picking here, if you live in Africa for 800 years, you are an African, even if you are not black. Following your logic, no Americans were ever slave traders either because it was Europeans, not Americans who traded in slaves. You also ignore the fact that it was actually Africans who captured their fellow Africans and sold them into slavery to Europeans. Remember that most of the importation of slaves took place before the founding of this country in 1776.
The first African slaves were brought to the new world in 1501 by the Spanish and when the Constitution was ratified in 1787, it is clear that the evil of slavery was on the minds of the founders. Article 1, Section 9 called for the end of the importation of slaves by 1808, which is when the practice ended. I will not feel guilty for something that happened 100's of years before my birth or even before my ancestors entered the country, but I will acknowledge that America ended the practice.
275 years of European rule over the new world led to 275 years of slavery, but once the Constitution was ratified, slavery was completely banned in 84 years. In comparison, Africans continue to enslave each other to this day. White people didn't invent slavery, but white people were the first to recognize its evil and end the practice. As for the numbers of slaves, being incompetent at catching slaves doesn't not make practice any less evil.
One final point, when many countries finally got around to ending slavery, they either deported their former slaves, or simply killed them. America made our former slaves citizens of this country. God knows that they are better off here than they would be of they were dead or returned to Africa.

@agger12343 We started research for the atomic bomb in 1939, testing began in 1945. Conventional weapons were used on Germany and were working. That country surrendered before we could use this bomb. Japan however, would not stop fighting. We were sending troops HOME and they were being hit by kamikaze pilots on their way to the US, dumb ass. @williambellor These were people that were of Arab extraction. Not Black Africans. The Barbary Pirates were not Black Africans. Black African slaves were also included in the slave trade. This slave Barbary trade was not contingent upon race and was not systemically designed to degrade and categorize the slaves as sub-human or inferior. Also, 1.25 million European slaves were taken as opposed to 12 million Africans transported to the Americans. Ottomon Muslims did enslave, NOT Black Africans.

you're nit picking here, if you live in Africa for 800 years, you are an African, even if you are not black. Following your logic, no Americans were ever slave traders either because it was Europeans, not Americans who traded in slaves. You also ignore the fact that it was actually Africans who captured their fellow Africans and sold them into slavery to Europeans. Remember that most of the importation of slaves took place before the founding of this country in 1776.

The first African slaves were brought to the new world in 1501 by the Spanish and when the Constitution was ratified in 1787, it is clear that the evil of slavery was on the minds of the founders. Article 1, Section 9 called for the end of the importation of slaves by 1808, which is when the practice ended. I will not feel guilty for something that happened 100's of years before my birth or even before my ancestors entered the country, but I will acknowledge that America ended the practice.

275 years of European rule over the new world led to 275 years of slavery, but once the Constitution was ratified, slavery was completely banned in 84 years. In comparison, Africans continue to enslave each other to this day. White people didn't invent slavery, but white people were the first to recognize its evil and end the practice. As for the numbers of slaves, being incompetent at catching slaves doesn't not make practice any less evil.

One final point, when many countries finally got around to ending slavery, they either deported their former slaves, or simply killed them. America made our former slaves citizens of this country. God knows that they are better off here than they would be of they were dead or returned to Africa.

Like a farmer does his livestock Killing some and selling some. When slavery was ending and these methods became unpopular. As for your Liberia argument, that did not take place as slavery was ending, it took place between 40 & 60 years before slavery was abolished. But Denmark didn't abolish slavery at that time. THE STATE OF VERMONT was the first to abolish slavery in 1777. Just a bunch of Americans.

As for your purpose, MLKjr did MORE through peaceful preaching true equality than this group is doing through racism. And FYI, racism only breeds more racism, so how's about you, and anyone else making excuses for this sad, pathetic group stop defending racist actions and start preaching equality?

No person, regardless of skin color, religion, creed, gender, or sexual orientation has to act like this. Period, end of story. NO amount of wrong doing by one person or group is "vindicated" by REVENGE, and THAT is what the NBPP seems to be all about.
If you wanna get all pissy about oppression and slavery and reparations, WOMEN have MORE right to do THAT..not some whiners that their ancestors were slaves. Get the fuck over it, I HAVE!!!!! And while youre at it, teach your kids to get over it!

All this hatred and anger that most blacks feel toward whites is all about slavery. All the crimes committed against whites since the 1960's is nothing but revenge on whites for past wrongs. No whites today had anything to do with slavery, lynchings, etc. and are not responsible for what happened in the past. whites have been bending over backwards for the last 5 decades trying to right past wrongs. Preaching that white babies should be killed is cowardly. GROW THE HELL UP ALREADY.
