  • Smooth drumming m'man. Keep it up, you kick ass on the drums

  • Nice work bro....

  • At about the 2:50 mark you began playing faster than you're capable of handling and out of time with the music. As a --former-- metal drummer I can say that usually happens when you tense up your arms. If you don't loosen up, relax and play within your abilities, you'll end up like me. My right elbow started going numb so I tried gripping the stick even harder. My stupidity cost me what I loved most. I gave up my passion of drumming over twenty years ago. Warm up your arms before playing.

  • Nice job man.

  • nice discipline on your playing positions

  • what pedals do you use???\

  • @hardim21 Iron Cobras in this clip : ) Now I use Axis.

  • @blindedbydarkness why do you use Axis if you can clearly reach 32nd notes on the double kick using iron cobras? i know axis makes it a little easier. but dont you think if you stuck with iron cobras you'd be able to keep up that speed. Dont you think using an axis might weaken you when it comes time to use a regular kick pedal?

  • @crazzzymike69 Axis is a wonderful, smooth pedal. Regular? Axis is just as regular as an Iron Cobra. It basically works just the same way. And ain't easier to play. That all depends on the settings on the pedals, I like a pretty heavy feel and I get that with Axis aswell.

  • very nice skills man BUT your toms at at such a bad angle... i had them like that for ages and now they're verging on flat as the ground!!! try it and you'll see

  • 2:11 not sure if the noise behind the cymbals was on purpose, but it sounds tight.

  • sweet kit man.

  • how those bosphorus crashes going?

  • damn u know what ur doing :D

    Great playing!

  • Awesome dude. \m/

    ps: buy a new camera.

  • dude.. fucking awesome!!!!!!!!!

i cant get over how amazing you are.

  • F*ck! That was grate!!!!

  • nice kit and sweet drumming

  • true skills ma friend

  • nice blast beat whit one foot =)!! Great

  • the correct way to do a blast beat is with one foot...

  • there is no correct way, it's all about what you are comfortable with. And if it was recorded with one foot or two it would sound exactly the same and you would not be able to tell the difference.

  • currently, i am.

  • Love it! \m/

  • niceee man

  • You do realize its a drum cover right...This isn't inprov why would you make such a stupid comment?

  • Bad quality, but good drumming.

  • your poor chair^^

    fine drumming though

  • Haha. Got a Tama wide rider now.

  • dont listen to others assholes u did good, good job man

  • nice one, but you need to work more on your left hand.

  • Good cover. Nice set man.

  • now i know who is listenig to dimu borgir!!

    lolololol

  • I like the heel toe you throw in at 1:46

  • thats not heel toe...

  • Thats what it looks like

  • Great endurance my friend! I can double bass about as fast but that shit just straight up dies out after about 3 minutes. I hope to get a video up of this song sometime in the future!

  • Nice drumming dude! ;)

Blasting ain't easy.. but you're on your way man! :)

Keep up the good work.. :)

  • Holy mighty tom angles.

  • work on your left hand when youre blasting. move your wrist less and move your fingers more so that the stick gets up higher before you flip it back down with you fingers.

    Great job though!

  • Great job, only comments are work a little on clearing up your double bass and blast beats. nice job with the 1-footed though.

  • to down!...: )

  • you do it great :D

  • in what evil lab do they breed drummers like this?! I NEED ONE OF THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh my god you´re amazing, honestly. Why dont you join to a band and start playing live, i´d gladly see you palying live :o

  • Yeah I'm in a metalcore band and some extreme metal-ish band : ) I got lots of big and smaller (moslty small) shows behind me too!

  • very nice

  • Amazing job dude

  • nice...damn...how much does your cymbals cost...

  • best drums of dimmu that I ever seen played

  • Metal for life dude and awesome fucking drumming dude keep up the work

  • Good, clean technique and crisp time, too. 5 stars.

  • nah, I started when I was 14. This was shot three years after. It doesn't take much time, if you practice a lot. But I got much to learn...

  • @blindedbydarkness you rock, really good .. especially for 3 years Oo how long did ya practice a day?

  • awesome!

  • this is great... love your double peddle work. do you use triggers?

  • are you that same guy who goes to every dimmu-related song to talk shit? just wondering, and can you post some vids, i would love to see your drumming, if this is shit.

  • man he fuckin' rules \,,/ that guy's a awsome drummer!

  • niceeeee

  • gahh, drummers like you are so hard to find around here.

    its all country music.

    KENTUCKY SUCKS!

fortunately i have found probably the best drummer in the state.

you guys would have a grand old time.

    haha.

    awesome stuff man.

    i really admire drummers alot.

  • hella tight cover. keep up the awesome drumming.

  • I think what we need here is more cowbell.

  • hey man love the set up! how many crashes/chinas do you have and what size?

  • you're really good, REALLY good, you're drums sound bang on, but it sounds terrible, like the basssnarebasssnare part, over and over, is just like. -___-, you should make your own stuff, it'd be a zillion times better, fucking rank double pedal too, makes me wanna' cry, haha.

  • Well, you know how it is... It's a drummer's job to be the band's metronome, which means heavy repetition with some reusable fills - normally, at least - so the rest of the band can texturize and develop the song. I'm pretty sure if you were listening to this song with the rest of the five band pieces (while keeping the drum part unchanged), it would sound awesome and you might not think much about it. Hehe. ;P

  • You're great.

  • cool

  • fucking awesome xd

  • I like your drums :)

  • what ride do you use? i like the sound of it

  • It's an old, thick 20" ride. It is a Sabian stamp on it, but all logos are washed away. I got it for about $50 from the former owner!

  • lol, get a seat

  • bra jobba men du kunne dratt noen fler coole fills da hehe

  • Awesome man, keep up the extreme drumming!

  • This is NOT Dimmu Borgir...!!! This is Joey Jordison from Slipknot...;)

  • øøøh

  • I think if he can play it he knows what he is playing

What slipknot song is this then genius

  • no fucking way that that is joey jordison dude

  • you are reely stupid!

  • i don't think so man.

  • ey dont bash on the nopje douche, i think he was sayin the dude looks like JJ. which i agree, he does look a lot like him.

  • You, sir, are retarded.

  • cool man

  • Great!

  • really good, man

  • hey ur excellent!!!!!awesome dude!!!!

  • You are epically amazing! Dx

    - Bows down. -

    Haha, and cute. ;]

  • nice goin bro, love this song, and the album, some good shit. Gotta hate the stamina needed for them blast beats but as you well know, you get it down, you have it forever. nice job man, lovely kit.

  • Thanks! : )

  • My favorite song on the album. It's practically oozing maliciousness.

  • Oh yes. Maybe not my favourite, but it's hard to pick one. This one is awesome tho.

  • well done

  • Lol, I know the album, but I don't recognize the song by the title or by hearing this, only at like 2:10 I was starting to hear the guitars that pretty much match the drums, but I can't keep track still. XD

Ugh, should listen to the album again, been a while.

    But nice drumming, and drumkit.

  • Yes, that album rocks and should be listened to every day! Thanks:)

  • Haha, ok;);)

  • what trigg module are you using?

  • Alesis DM5.

  • nice set :D good drumming

  • I see your using Ebony Pinstrips on the toms. How do you find them? Are they tonely different in anyway to standard pinstips or is asthestics the main reason? Given your playing level Id assume you know what what you like. Im interested to hear as only person i ever saw use them apart from you on the batter head was Terry Bozio back in the 80's

  • Congratulations! Are speechless!!bravo bravo bravo...kiss bye bye

  • r u using triggers?

  • yes, on bassdrums

  • Is it eaier to play double bass with the throne really low

  • That's matter of taste. I personally get much better control on the double bass when I sit low like that. Others again, prefer sitting high. Try out both, and see what works best for you. There is no correct answer on this!

  • du MÅ gjøre I Rape Myself av Canibal :o

  • Do you play with your bass drums pointing completely forward? Maybe that might help with my feet..

  • nope, they spread a bit. Not too much tho

  • wow O_O

at 3:00 i think u go a little out of rythm (i'm not so sure) but u're still awesome O_O respect

  • Nothing wrong at 3:00 as far as I can hear.. oO Thanks for the comment :)

  • at 1:44 you do that ride part for

but the sound after the ride you use it sounds like its a smaller ride are you just hitting the cymbal near your hi hat? its a upsideown china or a boom or is that the same thing?? kinda new to it but i need to make that sound so i can play that part its just idk exactly what your doing from the angle TY

  • The cymbal I hit there is actually a sawblade. It makes about the same sound as a ride, just less volume. I use it mostly as a second ride, and it looks very cool too : )

  • I am learning from you and yu only eep it up and ty so much

  • Cool man, keep it up, good luck

  • you'Re so nice you have it soooo good and that song is wonderful good job

  • Thanks!

  • good vid

but i think you have potential to play a better song than that man

    props though

  • Very good!

  • np. Merry christmas and good luck :p

  • I have found out that sitting comfortable is very important! Also practice as often as you can!

  • you are awsome! if you ever move to fauske or "omegn" I need a drumer! :D

  • Takker!

  • u need to show ur feet toooo lol !!!

    great job man !!

  • I'll make some new videos where the feet will be more in focus :)

  • you are an excellent drummer mate. very very good. i like your style. can you tell me what those lovely chinas are, and what company, becasue its really hard to find a nice sounding hcina and thats nice.

    thanks Ant

  • Thanks, ant!

All my chinas are Wuhans. They are the best chinas in my opinion, and not expensive at all. I have one 20", one 18" and one 12", all wuhans. Buy them!

  • thanks, ill do my research and try and get some. i just love your drumming, i cant stop watching. ive just recently got into Dimmu borgir, and have seen them live in london. what kit have you got?

    Ant

  • Ok, really great to hear! I've listened a lot to Dimmu the last years, that's why I can play most of their songs by ear haha...Never seen them live, tho:( I hope the chance is coming soon!

My kit is a Mapex V7. Not a very exspenive high-end kit, but it does it's work for me!

  • they are rather amazing live, but i went in blind coz i never of heared of them untill i sore them! can you tell me which china is which please coz i dont know which one is the right inch.

    Antx

  • The one on my right is 20", on my left is 18". The small one in the middle is the 12", of course:p

  • fucking awesome man

  • Nice job - this is my favorite Dimmu song of all. Thanks so much for posting this vid.

  • Thanks! It's not my favourite, but definately one of them: ) No problem

  • dimmu rules!!! hey you're nice.. excellent drums!!!

  • Nice!!

    Very Nice!

    COngratulations!

  • Thanks!

  • you have it so right man i like you

  • thanks again!

  • This is very very good!

  • thats amazing...nice job man, btw how much did all that kit cost?

  • After I bought a new AAX hihat and splash, I've spent about $ 6000 on my kit..

  • Thanks! I have updated some of my cymbals since the videos were shot, but now it's somewhere around 6400 USD

  • Your left hand palm faces directly to the right side, making a 90 degree angle and difficulting the wrist to strike the snare properly. I recommend turning the left hand a litle more facedown (palm facing the snare), so your strikes become much more comfortable, which means better, faster and smoother drumming... have a nice day, you play veeerrry good, however, we never stop improving!

  • Veldig bra, håper du spiller like bra trommer i bandet ditt.

  • takker! Joa...Ikke samme stil men:p

  • Nice, do you use heal and toe technique?

  • Nope. I play straight heelup, sometimes flatfoot.

  • Impressive, great technique too. What kinda pedals do you use?

  • Thanks! Iron Cobra Powerglide pedals.

  • jævlig bra

  • dude what do you do to get your legs that consistant with your drumming?

  • I need to sit good, have the right setting for my pedals, and practice often. I also have to warm up for a while to keep it consistant long. And I'm still working on getting more consistent at higher speeds myself:p

  • Awsome double pedal. Great job on the drums and on the song:)

  • Thanks!

  • you kick so much ass keep it up!!! ps you need to do dimmu- Blessings Upon The Throne Of Tyranny that would kick ass

  • Thanks:) That song is chellenging for me, but I'll try it:p

  • those remo pinstripe ebony heads if so like me and this kicks ass

  • Omfg! *bows down* You're fucking awesome. I was gunna start drums (I'm a guitarist) but now I'm too shocked at how good you are.

I think I have the same wrist bands as you do.
