@TurkeyTuck Yeah.... I'm a total metal head as well and I still use Fenders. Obviously they suck so bad for metal, but the Telecaster body is just.. so.. damn.. sexy.. ugh.. and Jim Root has active pickups in his so its practically not even a Fender anymore XD damn i wish I had a metal telecaster like him <_<
@TurkeyTuck Jackson is owned by Fender? I never knew that. I dunno, as much as I'd like a Tele, I feel that Fender guitars are way overrpriced. Much like Gibson. And Squier doesn't make any tele's with the wood or pickups I like, so it looks like I'm never gonna get a Tele. It sucks!... wish they had a custom shop, but those tend to be more expensive than anything.
You'd be surprised to find out what's owned by what in guitar companies. Funny thing is, Ibanez is a Spanish name, and the company is owned by Japanese people.
Same with Schecter, a German name, owned by Japanese people. ESP/Ltd is also owned by the same person who owns Schecter. So pretty much when you buy an ESP/Ltd, you're buying a Schecter rofl. (I think Schecter is a bit better when it comes to 7 string guitars though)
By the way, active pickups aren't really a metal thing, a lot of bass players use them just to get a louder output because of how low tuned a bass is. As a matter of fact, they don't contribute at all to tone at all really, if anything, they worsen tone hahaha.

Actually, in a way, they could be considered better. In a sense, Jackson guitars are pretty much fenders, since Jackson is owned by Fender.
Along with that being said, guitars are all made the same way, so there isn't such a thing as a bad metal guitar, or a good metal guitar.

he really isnt even that good at playing guitar. playing low chords is basically all the old slipknot was.
i admit he is okay in the new album. he has some crazy shit in it.
and i know he can probubaly do so much more crazy shit.
but from what he shows in his songs and videos, he really isn't that great of a player compared to others.
