Seems like it's a trend these days for extreme bands to have a "chugging" sort of track (Antithesis/Saligia by Origin, In Service of Time by Abysmal Dawn) - but Fleshgod do this one extremely well. The background synths are a lot more restrained and provide great atmosphere, the vocal rhythms are interesting, esp. during the verse, and the bridge with the female operatic vocals and piano really brings things to a climax. A standout on the album!

My favorite song on the album. The transition around 0:24 is simply brutal and the sound effects behind the music give this song a haunting atmosphere. Good shit.

i've never heard of this band before, but the vocalist who is singing the high part (countertenor) is doing a very admirable job! the operatic element meshes very well with the symphonic theme.

Iv´e always listened to clasic music and opera and always thought " if more people knew about this kind of singing the "normal" clean singing style would just disappear since it sucks balls" LOL

god damn, these guys really out did themselves. Mafia was honestly a bit of a dissapointment for me, but Oracles was one of my favorite Death metal albums ever. This definitely does not disssapoint.

@SamuraiNekrotic97 I sea what you mean by Mafia not being as good but you have to understand it was just an EP only 3 of the songs were theirs besides Mafia but thats a piano piece. Blinded by Fear was a cover and they realeased it kind of as a bridge to this album. In my opinion Mafia was unique and I actually really liked it.

@Iskate2metal true that, but y'know after such a high point from Oracles, Mafia was a bit underwhelming. I got that it was like a transitional EP but y'know, why listen to it when I could listen to Oracles basically lol. but really, it was a great EP, better than a lot of other bands but just not this bands high point. Agony is genious though. I love it, and all three together make a fuckin awesome set.
