Perfect.. I used to live opposite the fire station in Fairlight on Sydney Road and watching the storms from my balcony as they came over the horizon from the ocean was one of the best things about that view.. it was absolutely incredible, sometimes terrifying.. but exhilarating at the same time ! Thank you for posting this, it gave me some happy memories !
Great work guys. Would like to use this footage in a DVD we are shooting in QLD. We have no funds but would give you a credit and a copy of DVD if you like.
no, this is real. anyone who lives in Australia knows that our storms are like this half the time. We get the most intense lightning in the world here. We get things like edge lightning where the sky is fairly clear. We also get blanket cloud that cover the entire skyline with a single dark tone giving the illusion of a dull night grey or black sky. I've seen a pitch black lightning storm at 11am in the tropics. We have a very unique weather system here.
nothing visually fake about it- promise/cross my heart. Its an approx 30min video which i then took the lightning shots and slowed them down by 50% and joined them together for a continuous show. sound was mixed through sound bites of the take. It was the craziest night of lighting ive seen!
0:38 was AWESOME

Australia’s north gets the most biblical thunderstorm activity due to the intense heat of the outback.
There is no lights in the outback but the the lighting lights the night sky like nothing else can on this planet.
