@IKAPPYI1 Yes, The engines (A and C units) are red and chrome, the B unit is all chrome, and the rest of the cars are chrome. (Well as chrome as plastic could be back in the 1940's)
A friend was cleaning a basement last month, there was a box of trains..He showed them to a "train guy" who said they were junk. I bought them for $20. They are a complete set + of post war Lionel....I've spent about $40 in supplies and parts and have it running like new. Broken down the set is worth close to $700, or I might sell it complete for $500. So much for the "Train guy" and a box of "Junk".
Had that set when I was a kid in the 60's...Plus a lot more...My father sold it all after my young brother wouldn't stop smashing the trains together like Gomez did in the Adams Family...Shame as it would be worth a little today...

It is worth quit a bit, I spent $60 fixing it up and then sold it for $300. Plus I got to play with the train :)
