  • I saw some mike mentzer videos here on YouTube. He passed away already, but he was a body builder and trainer. His thing was working the whole body with high intensity and full range of motion lifting. All reps are 5 seconds long on pos and neg side of lifting. And some other criteria. But what surprised me was that he said to workout once every 6-10 days. What say u???

  • i thought to become explosive you have to do low rep training because the only way to lift 1 or 2 rep max is to lift explosively. even though the bar appears to be moving slowly explosive and power muscles are required to lift heavy. therefore power athletes have a really high power to weight ratio because there training mainly consist of absolute strength and power routines rather than size. there's a bit more to explain but cbf however would like to read other theories.

  • @jeiison Its true man, to build maximum explosiveness you have to use really low reps, look at the olympic weightlifters - they are REALLY fucking explosive because you aint gonna do a slow-motion snatch. And they always do like 1-3 reps. There is a difference between maximum explosiveness and just more general speed though.

  • I'm a tight end.14 years old. I run a few miles each day on off season. Hit the gym and ALWAYs do more reps with legs than arms. I go with syntha 6 and creatine.

  • Good!!

  • U guys actually make alotta sence in this epissode. From a guy that actually use to play a crapload of sports that were all very explosive. In training we had to do weight training between the 12 reps and up range and lots of sprints and agility training... good info yall

  • Say can y'all send me you email I'm using my phone and don't show everything. Send it to stedman20@gmail.com

  • Its about fucking time you do a video about athletes.

  • That shit bout the mma fighters is bs. Look at Sean sherk. That Fu looks three times bigger than everyone he fights n was champ for a long ass time in a weight class known for agility. That fu works out for hours a day. Same thing with Matt Hughes and Quintin Jackson. Just gotta be good with them hands

  • FANTASTIC VIDEO !!!! I was waiting for this video, as BROTEHRS only following your advises ON LEGS, doing instead of 6-8 reps, between 15-20 reps with agre 65 I play much better tennis, I move like a mad. I am more explosive! I will do now on all other muscles 12-15 reps! Also the fact being explosif on UP MOVEMENT AND SLOWER ON NEGATIVE MOUVEMENTS IS A VERY GOOD ADVISE. Thanks a lot for this video, very well done I like when you speak serious, sometimes a joke is OK, but mostly be serious!!!

  • i agree with this, when i first started rugby i did 4-6 reps, just so i could get stronger, being a prop, i needed to ;) and now i have strength, i have been working on condition in the 8-12 rep range, and i have, obvisously along with cardio, got more explosive and dynamic, and can go for a whole match every week now, s'all good

  • IMO, if you wanna be fast, practice sprinting. If you wanna jump high, practice jumping. If you wanna get big and strong, hit the weight room. If you wanna give up, blame genetics. The world isnt as complicated as it seems.

  • Yea, I think this is incorrect. The fastest twitch fibres you can possibly build is through exploding out low 4-6 reps of a heavy weight. Higher reps are not explosive, thats getting closer and closer to your slower twitch fibres. I know this for myself because my heavy squats increased my sprinting speed by a lot. When I run, my legs feel like they are machines and like Im going in to a vortex to a different universe. lol

  • bobby lashley, lol a good freaking example

  • Its about the rep range, speed you lift and % of weight you lift to develop power. Low to med reps 1-6 for 65%+ for 4-6 sets (Baechle and Earle, 2008). Do some research read books and journals theres plenty about out there, and the word you were looking for at 3:20 was concentric contraction (shortening of the muscle under tension).

  • i disagree with this. its all genetics man.

  • @thekillermike22 if you want to give up because you say it's genetics then ok w/e.

  • most of my friends are waist up wonders

  • lol high reps? don't listen to this video because it very misleading!! you should do low reps 3-6 and do explosive lifts like hang clean, power clean, snatch and some compound movements. Don't do high reps of some bs exercises like leg press or stuff like that. You guys have alot of videos where you talk about stuff you really don't know what your'e talking about

  • @MyBrazzi agreed but I watch their vids mostly for entertainment anyway haha.

  • @slimjamie1991 YOU ARE WRONG!!!! tHESE brothers ITS A CONTRAST! They speak vulgaire, they sometimes have a strange behavious, BUT listen to their ADVISES, they are great. I consulted tjheir youtube channel to our coaches in our gylm, they all LOVE IT!!! I personally think that Luimarco and Twinmuscleworkout are the best on the Youtube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @twinmuscleadvises1 lol ok. btw I think most of their advice is great. but sometimes they're wrong IMO, like in this video for example.

  • So true. GSP trains gymnastics for explosivness, agility, flexibility, core strength and general strength. Dude it T2 P4P.

  • Fast twitch development.

  • 0:8 omfg lmfao

  • Finally!! I waited for this so long.. thanks

  • Plyometrics + Compound Weight Training + Stretching = win

  • I saw a guy on the ufc. I think his name is Cheik Kongo or something like that. Anyway, he was HUGE! But still, he can't go on the juice cause they get tested right?

  • I Agree... i mean look at Bruce Lee, hes the definition of Power.

  • strongman is not slow ....

  • @twinmuscleworkout How should a skateboarder be training legs to reduce recovery time, since the legs are usually sore after a skate and after the gym, its hard to balance.

  • I've been doing Cock pushups

  • Bobbijo kitchen is just gorgeous

  • i disagree.. football guys do low reps for their strength but they do the most massive compound movements such as deadlifts, cleans, and squats for overall strength... that way they dont put on tons of muscle with hypertrophy training like 8-12 rep range or higher.

  • absolutely :-)

  • 'Hey man, you looking to build some muscle man?'

    "YEEAHHH"

    sniff sniff sniff*

    'You do?'

    'YEAHHH'

    'Good man"

I wonder how he hears me when my comp has no mic.. hmm...

  • Man you guys should have your own show on TV!! The only problem is they would try and censor yall, so HBO, HOOK MY BOYS UP!!!!

  • do football players cut and bulk as well? how do guys like reggie bush, terrell owens, clay mathews, vernon davis etc manage to stay so jacked while running as much as they do in games and practices? thumbs up please!

  • @saimkhan786 they stay jacked cuz cardio doesn't actually burn fucken muscle. They just weight train off season and play in season. but at the end of the day u can do whatever the fuck u wanna do

  • @saimkhan786 Cause they weight train during the season to maybe not as intense as the off season but just enough to keep their strength up

  • @MetalGearSolidNick1 thank you for the reply

  • @saimkhan786 pretty much everyone in the nfl is a genetic freak. I mean a lot of the guys weigh 250+ and can run and jump like a 150 lb guy. It's pretty fuckin incredible IMO.

  • @saimkhan786 it's mainly their diet, they eat a lot so they don't lose their muscle

  • @saimkhan786 yea, this bothers me too. steroids? :(

  • @saimkhan786 roids man....

  • @saimkhan786 They eat even more proteins, carbs, calories to make up for it. Perhaps like 4000-5000 cal a day and 400-500g protein.

  • @saimkhan786 Mostly just bulk. Football players usually have a little bit higher body fat than bodybuilders. So they just stay in bulk mode.

  • @saimkhan786 steroids

  • What do u guys think about intermittent fasting

  • noob question... is it safe mixing 2 types of protien powder?

  • HEY, and how about REPS for ABS? HOW MANY SHOULD I DO FOR EXPLOVESIVENESS?

  • depends on how lift.

  • why does the top comment have so many likes? O.o

  • HIRE A COACH IF YOUR LOOKIN TO IMPROVE IN SPORTS. NO OFFENSE BUT THIS VID TELLS ONLY LITTLE OF WHAT THEY ACTUALLY DO.. WATCH SOME VIDS ONLINE... THEY DO CRAZY STUFF.

  • do videos about MMa

  • Hector lombard is an example of someone who is built like a fucking tank but is agile like a 155er

  • training low reps with high velocity and heavy weight.

  • Ey mayne... Instead of studying for my HSC I'm watching these vids mayne.

  • good video. i was alaway assume big guys are slow and slim guys are weak but thats alway the case. Do i add plometrics to my workout routine if i want to be exlposive? note that im an ectomorph and like you guys said i cant work out for a long period of time.

  • looks like u guys haZnt done a lot of research in this area .. debates all over the comments area .. i don't know what to believe !

  • You guys snort coke or sumthin? Haha good video.

  • @nick888ph genetics

  • You guys seriously need a reality TV show!

  • Anderson Silva bitchez

  • I workout in the 8-15 upperbody rep range and the 15-25 lowerbody rep range like you guys advise (3-day split) and I get ridiculously sore for a few days, especially in my legs. I couldn't even imagine how it would feel if I incorporated plyometrics and agility drills. Any advice?

  • Good video. I hope people took note. especially jimmy struthers. but you know what, you can do what ever the fuck you wanna do!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol wth? footballers, MMA fighters etc train in the low rep range, but with explosiveness.ANd stick to compound movements like deadlifts, squats.

  • @keshav0312 exactly

  • Look u Alister overeem he fucks up all the guys in mma. he recently got huge (last 3 years, still kinda recent) and he did it in a good way of which im nearly certain , if you see the way he did it i would say it was natural, look up before anyone starts disagreeing cause they only watch ufc.. he trained with dutch strong men, for weights and with the best mma and k1 guys in the world

  • @TheSundayDelight Everyone is... lol :3

  • what's your stance on yoga?

  • very very informative vid

  • fair play to you guys. you discuss some really relevant topics that no one else does on youtube.

  • see if u can dunk or grab the rim still

  • I'll disagree, athletes should not routinely train in the 15-25 rep range. Training in that range, especially legs will make them sore as fuck, and not that much stronger. You're talking about pro athletes, who are naturally strong and talented, this won't work for most people. Most people need to improve maximal strength to improve explosive strength because they're born very weak. Athletes should be lifting heavy and moderately heavy depending on need, or for a different stimulus.

  • @daballa100 you mad bro?

  • @lagginaintacrime no lol

  • When I was about 17-18 years old and 170 lbs, my bro could run me down no matter how fast i ran. He 10 years older than me and 300+ lbs. He was a left tackle and training for football got him in some serious good shape.
