Why did Blue have such a sucky team in Yellow? Aside from Alakazam and (maybe) Exeggutor his entire team sucked ass! I mean, changing Pidgeot, Rhydon, Gyarados, Arcanine and a freakin' starter for Sandslash, Cloyster, Magneton, Ninetales and an Eveelution?

Were they just sitting at Nintendo going: "Hey, let's make his team really suck in this one!"

@dobadobadooo i agree it was dumb to change gyarados to cloyster, arcanine to ninetales, and rhydon to sandslash and keep alakazam and exeggutor, changing pidgeot to electric type i understand because of his eevee having an electric evolution, but changing the water, fire, and ground pokemon really was dumb and if he didnt evolve eevee into jolteon, electabuzz shoulda been his electric type instead of magneton.

@paddotk nope can't evolve it in yellow. However pikachu gets a large speed bonus if you don't evolve him... you start with him in yellow though how could you not use him! Always found him to be as powerful as I needed him to be, got the job done... would never replace him.

Pikachu is the only pokemon to be with me 100% of the game :D

@didayone Definitely Gameboy Color. It plays every game from red and blue to crystal. Original Game Boy plays red and blue to gold and silver. Plus, you get the color screen. Although, I would recommend the Game Boy Advance SP because it is rechargeable, bigger screen, and it also has a backlight so you can play in the dark.

@didayone Oh yeah, it also allows GBA games so you can also play Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, and Leaf Green, so you have a bigger selection of games so you won't get bored from the entire system, just Pokémon games (that is, if you get bored from the pokemon games). But, If you want a classic feel and look, get the Game Boy Color.

@Chase1002newaccount it can evolve to a vaporeon too. I forgot how i think there was a certain wasy you had to battle him in the first two matches. Like to get Jolteon you have to beat him twice in a row and if you want flareon or vaporeon you have to lose one of the matches.

The point of this battle:

Nintendo put sandslash first becuz they thought you would send out pikachu first

This shows how psychic pokemon were way too strong in this game. Ghosts were meant to be super effective but it ended up being the other way round for some reason, bugs were also meant to be strong against them (i.e. the weakest type in the game) but there was only one offensive bug move (twin-needle) which could only be used by beedrill who was also poison and weak against psychic attacks...
