This was one of my most favorite programs when I was little. In fact we insisted one relative must marry a man she was dating as soon as we saw him and he looked like our Grizzley Adams! We were instantly in love with him! They are still married today.

This does kind of suck but you do have to remember that it was the late sixties or early seventies. It is not cool to feed the bears.

Sadly, actor Dan Haggerty contracted a bacterial infection that proved to be fatal. It wasn't clear whether it was a result of oral animal contact (kissing) or drinking from polluted streams. (because we didn't seem to give a shit about the environment in the early 70's any more than we do now)

I'm joking, but it is pretty sad that we can't do many of the things portrayed in the show any longer. Wouldn't be surprised if condos and strip malls now occupy the locations where this was filmed.
