  • Might be pointless asking, but I'm making a presentation about this scene in my lecture at uni and need some help identifying the instruments used, how the music creates: Theme, atmosphere, tension etc. I need help with this badly because I have no idea about scores and orchestral things or anything!!! help xD

  • @MrLukees Quite alot was usual instruments for a western theme, but one of the cooler ideas was playing on the strings inside a piano :D

  • Just throwing this out there...but doesn't Byron have a fatal stomach wound from being shot? Why is Ben Wade saying "I'm not going to kill you...not like this?" Charlie Prince already killed him, although not instantly. Am I wrong? I forget, does Byron show up later in the movie?

  • damn i just love the sound effect of the guns in this movie!!

  • Mornin', Pinkerton.

  • sweet jacket

  • lol @ people not wearing body armor

  • Thumbs up if you that machinegun in the back is epic!

  • Charlie Prince is so fucking badass.

  • @redshark618 yeah he also has a sweet ass jacket

  • boom mic 4:07

  • this is so much like red dead lol.

  • @trams33 Why do people insist on saying that? Red Dead Redemption is one of the most shit-laden peices of overhyped programming that the industry has brought along this generation.

  • @Beer1584 how do you figure that? its an amazing game. and theirs a lot of similarity's to this scene and the game, that's all im saying.

  • Comment removed

  • @trams33 Strictly in the cosmetic sense maybe, but that game cannot be related to a real life experience. It's shit. This movie can. It's applicable.

  • @Beer1584 i never tried to relate it to real life, its a game lol.

  • 3:22 Ben Foster, carrying this move alone.

  • Brass shotgun shells fall out of the scattergun and they make the sound of modern plastic shells. Foley Fail.

  • peter fonda's role is so badass gets shot in the stomach tells the guy to go to hell

  • I feel you man, but to be completely honest I vaguely remember it lol.

  • the sound of charlie's guns are different, and they sound good doing it.

  • "he's fast"...

  • Great movie!!!

  • 02:22 - the horse was like "FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU!!"

  • Oh man Christain Bale and Russell Crowe in this movie *swoon*

  • Gatling gun scene is priceless no?

  • am i the only one who cried at the end of this movie?

  • @apolllos7 nope

  • some of russel crowes best acting

  • go to hell Ads

  • "Mornin' Pinkerton" = the start of a very bad day for you when it's Charlie Prince greeting you.

  • who is the sniper? ;o

  • Did he just blow up a horse?? :(

ONe of the best remakes of an old western movie ever!!!

    Every performance was too amazing!

Christian and Ben looking good ;)

  • God, Charlie Prince is so handsome. He can have me anytime...haha!

  • I personally think that Red Dead Redemption was inspired by 3:10 to yuma.

  • @MrDanielinthehouse I personally think your a fucking retard.

  • @KrappyFriedCat whats your fucking problem? docuhe,,,,

  • @mattievk This movie came out before the game

  • generally, i don't care about western films. but this movie was badass.

  • You cunts can't resist bringing shit games into the mix can you? With westerns its 'omg red dead series'. With Mad Max its 'omg its lyk fallout'. Give it a fucking rest.

Duke Nukem, Turok and other old school games own all the fucking shit you kids play today. Keep your discussions on IGN or whatever other shit forums you surf. Fucking cunts.

  • @ReturnedGrazzt Calm down. People can talk about whatever they want, they're not hurting you.

  • @ReturnedGrazzt Your a moron, and a douche.

  • I wish they made it that Charlie Prince didn't miss a shot throughout the movie but he misses like 3. : ( lol

  • Russell Crowe is a beast

  • 0:12 wtf jim jones lol

  • He's Faastt..Lol xD

  • True Grit may bring a resergence back to the genre. @ calebinoutlook, yes it is. Other ones to check out would be the Quick and the Dead, Any Clint Eastwood Western, Jesse James, etc. @ the UnseenmovieLover don't check out Appaloosa if you haven't already. It is a blight on Westerns. The story line tanks, the acting (by Ed Harris and Viggo Mortenson, two of my faves) sucks, and it is just not a good western, or movie period. It only has one shootout for goodness sakes!!

  • you can see exactly what inspired rockstar

  • best westerlike movie eva

  • @TheJWKK True Grit>

  • i wanna go watch this, but my tv is so far from my computer. :/

  • HES FAST!

  • we had a couple of good western dramas in the last few years, deadwood, the proposition, the assassination of jesse james, this film, I was hoping a resurgence of the genre, but it seems to have tarnish already and cinema is dwelling once more into idiotic special effect vehicles and childish comic book narratives :(

  • anybody else see the mistake at 1:36. the guy fires 2 shots from his lever action repeater without cocking it.

and at 5:18 when the dynamite goes off, it would have probably killed the pinkerton inside the coach.

im not insulting the movie for having mistakes. all movies have them. i just thougt i'd point them out for the fun of it. still love this movie. its in my top 3 westerns aside The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and Appaloosa.

check those out if u havn't

  • @calebinoutlook Do you like Unforgiven, or have you not seen it? For me, that's my all-time favourite Western. I haven't seen Appaloosa, but I've been meaning to check it out. I definitely agree with you though; 3:10 to Yuma is probably one of my favourite Westerns. Jesse James is definitely in my top three films of the genre; that is an absolute masterpiece which was, and is still being, badly overlooked. I watched most of it today, actually; I'm doing a essay on Western iconography.

  • @TheUnseenMovieLover havn't seen Unforgiven. cause for the most part i like watching movies made from mabye 1995 to now. is Unforgiven in that time frame?

  • @calebinoutlook It's from 91. You should still check it out though; it's definitely a badass movie. Don't youtube any clips coz you'll fuck up the story for yourself, but check it out. If you liked this movie, I guarantee you you'll like it.

  • I wanna watch this movie!!!!!!! Only because of RDR XD

  • @xFATxETHIOPIANx Fuck off back to your shit Xbox games.

Fyi, Witcher series is superior to Red Gay Cuntemption. :]

  • @ReturnedGrazzt fuck off to underneath your bridge troll.

  • @xFATxETHIOPIANx Just because I speak the truth, I'm a troll. Right.

By that logic, I'll assume you are a piece of shit, because you look a lot like one! :D

  • "He's fast!"

    "No shit sherlock -_-"

  • i like how they establish ben wade's respect for his enemies. Much like he does at the end with Bale (can't remember the name of the guy he plays.)

  • 928 motha fuckas

  • charlie prince likes to shoot people in the stomach

  • How can people even relate this to red dead redemption!?!?

  • @Alexthapanda Red Dead Redemption has a few major story lines that are super similar to this movie. It is also a very artistic and beautifully drawn out game that has alot of environmental features that looks like it came from the movie

  • @label1177 other than they are family they aren't really alike at all

RDR-father forced to leave family to track down former friends/gang members.

3:10 to Yuma:man decides to escort a prisoner to a town so he can get 200 bucks to save his farm from being sold.

    how is that the same?

  • @calebinoutlook In red dead John is trying to bring an outlaw to justice to save his family and lively hood. In to 3:10 the main character is trying to bring an outlaw to justice so he can help his family.

  • @label1177 yea. but in Red Dead Redemption Marston is only doing it cause he has to. in 3:10 to Yuma Dan Evans is doing it because he needs money to pay off someone he owes money to, and because he is tired of being poor.like he says. he was tired of the way his kids looked at him. they did it for completely different reasons.

to me, they are nothing alike except for a few guns that are the same. but thats like saying Call of Duty is exactly like Black Hawk Down

  • @Alexthapanda Because it looks like it? because they're both in the same type period? Because that Gatling gun is in RDR? Because the Sniper Rifle is from RDR? Lol ok?

  • Aww he killed Johnny Whitworth thats so fucked up!

  • charlie prince is so fucking giid, he is gangsta in this movie.

  • Beautiful old movie but 're the movie Russell Crowe and people who with him a real innovation. It is strange that the film did not win an Oscar

  • @TheShant2002 Well, it was a remake of an older film of the same name....

  • EPIC WIN!

  • shit he deffinatly used the dead eye from red dead redemption at the end xD

  • I saw this for the first time last night and was fuckin well impressed, the pace is non-stop and russell crowe does an awesome job as an outlaw with a depth of character

  • 6:54 Logan Lerman !!!

  • Russell Crowe totally Dead-Eye'd those guys

  • @mightymoksha LOL I KNOW right hes beast

  • if they make a red dead redemption movie russel crow should be john marston

  • Charlie Prince is the shit

  • I always there needed to be a Red Dead Redemption movie, but after seeing this, I don't think so anymore

  • "Hi there Pinkerton"

    Fucking bad ass!

  • @Puccini213 hey says "morning pinkerton"

  • ok im straight up in love with Charlie Princes jacket!! its a hot jacket!

  • blowing up the horse by shooting the dynamite looks cool and all but it would have been just as easy if not easier just to shoot the guy riding the horse. cause shooting the dynamite still only killed the 1 guy. and he had to aim for longer.

  • wat happened to all the western movies they hardly make any anymore. this movie is so good i saw this before i got red dead redemption and as soon as i started playing red dead redemption i thought of this movie. but yea they really need to make more western movies.

  • @geminiwolf91 watch The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Hidalgo is sorda also a western. its about a cowboy from the west who enters long distance races.he gets invited to join a 3000 mile race across the arabian desert. its a true story staring Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn from LOTR) i've seen those both and love them. then theres one i wanna see called Apolossa (might have spelt it wrong) looks good too

  • 6:56 "hes fast!" so fucking stupid. its like in every movie where there is this one great man and one kid says something awesome about the man.

  • this is my favorite western movies! 3:10 to Yuma rocks!

  • @grenbongo lol. the "3:10" part came up as a time to go to in the video. lol

  • This movie kicked ass. Reminds me of Red Dead Redemption. So many scenes are so similar to the game- including t his one.

  • byron mcelroy hahah

  • This version kicked the shit out of the 1950's version.

  • @4:55 lol

  • @thoroughlyThoreau ...sell it, or throw it away

  • Ah, so Commander Shepard learned his hostage situation skills from Ben Wade. It all makes perfect sense! Thanks for posting this scene up.

  • Tombstone and 3:10 are my favorite

  • "he's fast" hahahaha no shit the dude's fast!

  • 310 TO YUMA IS WAY BETTER THAN UNFORGIVEN NOT EVEN CLOSE..

  • @AAu99 3:10 is just a remake of an older film, Unforgiven is an original story. That in my book makes it better. There's more going on in Unforgiven plot wise too, though 3:10 is more action. Plus it's Clint Eastwood, nothing else needs to be said. Love both films regardless.

  • gotta love charlie prince....

  • @ZeGoddess You actually LIKE Charlie? wtf?

  • @Lawsuit he's awesome :D

  • Where's Mr. Nigel West Dickens at?!

  • I figured I wasn't the only one who'd remember 3:10 to Yuma because of RDR. I haven't gotten the game just yet, but I watched it last night to get into the spirit of the Western theme. Gonna watch more still.

  • Rockstar?? I think we got ourselves your basis for RDR here, BOYO! Lying piece of whore-whackers.. XD

  • I can't believe batman/jhon conner gets his ass kicked by the gladiator/robin hood

  • @lokallize Haha, brilliant.

But John Connor is,first and formost, Edward Furlong (when he was a kid, of course). I think Christian Bale's a good actor, I just generally steer clear of Terminator: Salvation. T3 lacked James Cameron, but still had Arnie. T:S had neither, except for thatCG Arnie. It doesn't work.

On the other hand...I'm not surprised he got his ass kicked by Gladiator/Robin Hood...Russell Crowe generally kicks ass. :-D

  • man i love this movie...

  • They need to make more new westerns like this one! Why is the western Genre so neglected?

  • Ben Foster makes this film as Charlie Prince!!!

  • he blew up the frekin horse!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn Peter Fonda was kickin ass with that shotgun

  • @hilaryduffok indeed

  • @hilaryduffok this movie made me wanna buy red dead redemption

  • @milkduds8a i hate it so much when people compare Red Dead Redemption to 3:10 to Yuma. cause they are nothing alike. just cause htey are both westerns? thats like saying ur gonna buy Call of Duty because u watched Saving Prviate Ryan or Band of Brothers

  • @calebinoutlook in the movie russell crowe does have a sense of redemption in it and i can see why people would think they are the same but i totally agree cause they really dont feel the same at all.

  • @hilaryduffok red dead redemption? if ur saying this movie is like Red dead Redemption that ur a fucking idiot. i've heard a few people say that and it pisses me off so much.just cause both are westers they think they are the same. but tehy have completely differn't story lines. and they are set years apart. and the feel is just completely differnt

  • @calebinoutlook They're both westerns. There are guns and horses. I think that makes them similar. I think your "conditions" for being similar are set too high.

  • @hilaryduffok Yes, the guys attacking the Caravan are me and my pausie Raiding it ROFL!

  • @hilaryduffok Except this movie came out three years before the game...

  • @codec98

but red dead revoler came out before this one and that had dead-eye

  • @MrCaveman366 dude...........being fast isn't deadeye. Shit didn't slow down, he just fired. god. there have been quickdraws in movies before video games was even a thought

  • @codec98 Not red dead redemption

  • @OGB3NNYC I don't know what you're trying to say, but if you're trying to tell me this isn't RDR, its obvious that's what my comment implied.

  • @codec98 Red Dead Revolver invented Dead Eye and it came out way before this movie. ;)

  • @Qrtzapp Solid point dude, but the other I replied to mentioned Redmption, so that's what I was commenting about, but you are right nonetheless.

  • @codec98 Lol!Not many people remember Revolver.... Sigh.. I always hated that game. The only thing I liked about it was the Dead Eye. Redemption is so much better.

  • @Qrtzapp you hated Revolver? Revolver was freaking awesome. What do you mean not many people remember it? It was a playstation 2 hit.

  • @Jawf94 And who remembers any games that came out on the ps2? You and I do, but most people only know about modern games. Yes, I hated it. The story and visual design was crap.

  • @Qrtzapp you thought the story was crap? and the game was made in 2004.

  • f5 to skip ad

  • @ThinkerMister11

    THANK YOU :D

  • This looks like it was shot on video...

  • 2:24 Nice shot, old man!

  • sniper???its not possible

  • @pedrocoo actually snipers were first used in the Civil War which was about 20 years before this movie takes place.

  • @CoachMcNugget No, they were used before the civil war, but they became popular during it

  • Love this movie, makes me think of my old place out in the prairies =) Thank for posting this is a cool scene

  • Bring back Glenn Ford and Van Heflin, please.

  • OK it wasn't masterpiece but it was great Western. Russel Crowe and Christian Bale showed brilliant acting.

I miss old good western movies

  • charlie prince is the ultimate bad ass, the way he just walks towards the stage coach and shoots the guy running away, sends shivers down my back when i see that

  • @MrSexPrince you wanna suck his cock.

  • In the real Old West they'd have shot the horses to stop the stagecoach--alot easier than trying to shoot the men on the stage. But that's Hollywood for you.

  • @yocanbanconit I don't think there were any prominent special effects in the movie, and training a horse to jerkily fall to the ground with a rider on its back would probably endanger the both of them. Nevertheless, the acting, I believe, is better than the the faulty logic.

  • @alexislame when Dan shoots the dynamite that Ben Wade throws, that was special effects. most of it anyways. but yea. they did alot of it without special effects

  • Maybe the villain loves horses ;)

  • @yocanbanconit Well theyre robbing for a living, I didn't think of that..I bet most of them wouldn't have either lol. Maybe Wade would have. :p

  • In my opinion Ben Foster have a nice performance as well as Russel Crowe.

Both of them have a lot of talent and are very good adding little things(pormenor) to a character that in the end made the diference.

  • ben foster are man united keeper ;) haha

  • i didnt know they had sniper in the wild wild west

  • they had telescopic sights yes

  • Yea they did:)

They were called Sharpshooters because they handed awesome aim!

I never knew wither until my dad told me:P

  • Which song is it that starts at the very beginning? Much appreciated.

  • charlie prince has a nice coat.

  • you should post the whole thing

  • Omg this movie is awsome and charlie prince is kinda hot

  • OMG! I FRICKIN <3 THIS MOVIE!!! one of the best westerns of all time!

  • @lcagirl97

After The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

  • @Theguns491 i enjoyed that 1 2 but not as much as young guns :)

  • @lcagirl97 u should also watch The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. its a great movie too. but its more of a drama western than an action. but its still amazing. probably Brad Pitts best performance ever.

  • @calebinoutlook lol yea i lykd that 1 2

  • @lcagirl97 lol hell no the best westerns are with john wayne and clint eastwood not these newer movies but yes i love this movie

  • @KIngAragorn100 not n my opinion

  • @lcagirl97 well thats your opinion if you have seen any of the old westerns you would problely reconsider your opinion yes this is one of the best newer westerns but this movie is a redo of a older movie 3:10 to yuma 1957 so there you go

  • @lcagirl97 yea. i also love The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. either that one or 3:10 to Yuma (remake) is my favorite westerns of all time
