Bearly watched this movie, and i recommend it to all. It's a beautiful. touching strory that will bring tears to your eyes. The actors are great, and they leave a great affect in you as you watch the movie. This actor is great, and i have to say: he is my favorite actor. I recommend this movie to all. Shoot, i'm gonna have to buy the book tomorrow.
reading all these comments posted here, all i can think is that how i wish people can unite and live together regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or colour. and being a muslim myself, i hate it when we divide ourselves by talking about ethnicity and also when some of us wrongly manipulate god's words to inflict harm on other people. i'm just a teenager and if all of us teenagers can start thinking the same way, maybe we can create a better world in the future.

First of all, the writer of the book (Khalid Hossaini" is not Pashtoon as it appears from his name. You will not find pashtoon having "Hussaini" last name. Secondly, the book covers the story of a small number of people who might be as rude as Khalid Hussiani, while the rest of the Afghans are far different. He made lie story to make the book interesting, but the reality of Afghan culture and custom is very different.
"Amedkan" reality can not be transform ed by the movies, if they make a movie telling us that pashtoons are immigrants from tajikistan and uzbakistan, would you believe that, dummy.

Great movie and great actors! -especially hassan and amir :)- I agree with you khaled this is the first movie that shows us a story that took a place in the middle-east and didn't dislpaly the region as just a whole war zone. people there need to be more personalized and characterized as like any other humans.
you want to learn about real Afghan (Pathan) culture you need to watch Khuda Gawah not Kite Runner. It's heavily slanted towards the Persian view and Persians are not Afghans they closer ties to Iran than Afghanistan, real Afghans are Pathan always have been always will be. I have seen the film, here in Denmark. The film is very populare here everyone have seen it. The film had a good story, but there was some few things that wasn't correct, and everyone was upset about it, it's the chapter when a pashton guy rapes the hazara boy, Hassan.
And i am glad that they havn't let the movie been seen in Afghanistan.

First of all, the writer of the book (Khalid Hossaini" is not Pashtoon as it appears from his name. You will not find pashtoon having "Hussaini" last name. Secondly, the book covers the story of a small number of people who might be as rude as Khalid Hussiani, while the rest of the Afghans are far different. He made lie story to make the book interesting, but the reality of Afghan culture and custom is very different.

i´m crazy about this movie. My boyfriend is from Afghanistan, so it´s nice to where he´s coming from. And he told me about the kite´s even before this movie came out. But the world should´nt forget the Talebans and what they did to the people. My boyfriend still have the scars.. Mentally and on he´s body.

Kite Flying is an Indian tradition... :-\ Another sign that in reality, Afghans were forcefully converted to Islam and then that nation decayed away over time... :-\ Afghans are Hindus in reality... even artifacts found in soil of Afghanistan are Hindu in Sanskrit.

The Hindu statues were those of a mere dynasty of kings called the Shahis. All the Hindu artifacts from Afghanistan are from that dynasty's era, not from any other time, which shows how more the exception it was rather than the rule. The Hindu scriptures themselves describe Gandhara or Afghanistan as being mostly peopled with foreigners or "Mlecchas", some of which have been accepted into the fold of Dharma.

A+ for this great film... hypocrites in Islamist nations are exposed very well in this film... But, one must read Afghanistan's recent history (Past 50-100 years) and then watch the film... Ending was sad, how a new generation of children forgot even to play under Islamist rule... The children even forgot in a matter of generation to smile, be happy, even forgot to fly the kites.

was merely suggested and that nothing really graphic is portrayed in the movie. I am amased how critics of that scene refuse to be presented with a reality that can happen as much as in America, Afganistan or any country in the world. Our refusal to look at realities is the downfall of mankind.

Great movie and great actors! -especially hassan and amir :)- I agree with you khaled this is the first movie that shows us a story that took a place in the middle-east and didn't dislpaly the region as just a whole war zone. people there need to be more personalized and characterized as like any other humans.

you want to learn about real Afghan (Pathan) culture you need to watch Khuda Gawah not Kite Runner. It's heavily slanted towards the Persian view and Persians are not Afghans they closer ties to Iran than Afghanistan, real Afghans are Pathan always have been always will be. Our culture, language, attitudes, and people are not the same as Persians and this movie and book gives Pathans a bad image because the writer is ignorant of our culture.

i think this film might bring more hatrate among pushtoons and hazara's. It shows alot of nigative points of views about pushtoons and hazara people. film like this might increase tension between hazara's and pushtoons which they had lots of war in the past.

This autor is an ingnorant person. He lived most of his live outside Afghanistan and he write about Hazara people. You got the feeling that all Hazara people were poor or servant. That is a wrong way to write a correct book. The fact is, Afghanistan had from all etnic group poor and rich, strong and weak. Hazara's like Haji Nader and Haji Razaq were the richest persons in capital Kabul. You had the baddest asses from Hazara like commander shafi the mad, nasir the mad. But this guy doesn't know.

well I am not really agree with the rape scenes because it emphacized the pashtoon nation...but as it is every nation have nice and bad people among them so people can't really generize others....this might happened but not the young child....well I think it really related to the movie and it is best explained so it doesn't really matter,,,,because there was amir as well whose family were pashtoon but nice people so it kind of give a good view about everything in AFG

I have seen the film, here in Denmark. The film is very populare here everyone have seen it. The film had a good story, but there was some few things that wasn't correct, and everyone was upset about it, it's the chapter when a pashton guy rapes the hazara boy, Hassan.
And i am glad that they havn't let the movie been seen in Afghanistan.
