Thank you for this Video. It's people, like this wonderful woman here, that give me some sense of hope. My brain is completely broken from all the horrible years of alcohol and drug abuse. I've been suicidal for years. The suicidal thoughts will never go away. Yet, every time i watch this...I feel better about myself. I know I'm not alone. I'm not looking for sympathy. It's been a tough go, and it is taking her a long time to come back, but she is :) Some days, her eyes look as if they see right through you, but other days...I can see that spark again.

Awesome video! I actually have a few disorders where self hatred is a HUGE part, my head is completely wired that way. But i believe in what youre saying, and thats all it takes. People always say their problems are hard and they slip sometimes, but thats cause they let themselves. My therapist says shes surprised im still alive with what ive gone thru, but the reason i am is because once you decide to have the strength to overcome something without a doubt, no matter how hard, you can!

I personally have a low self-esteem even though i follow the spiritual path. I find Christine's teachings in this connection invaluable in helping me to realize that i am just as worthy as anyone else. Sometimes life gets you down and you need what i can only say is a nice kick in the butt by christine as she does it in such a gentle way.

I went through a very rough childhood and have low self esteem because of it. However, that didn't make me decide there isn't a God so that's not necessarily true. Secondly, my low self esteem is a result of opinions I have about myself (not being worthy and good enough, etc.) and that's what Christine is trying to say here. It's all about how we think about ourselves. Believe you're worthless and you'll feel that way. Believe you're worthy and you'll feel THAT way.
Approval: All you life, people will try to take away your happiness, achievements, sense of self worth, etc. Don't take it away from yourself.
Criticism: "Worth" is a subjective and objective reality. Even a sociopath can believe he is "worthwhile". And even a benefactor can believe he is "worthless".

see i dont think anyone ever thinks or feels there completely worthless, i think its when people are down on themselves they just feel that they are worth less than the norm or than what is considered satisfactory. and those last few words reall stuck with me and were thought provoking because i dont treat myself as well as i treat others all the time.
i am not spiritual, but it is a very good point. finding your self worth, which is innate, is what life is about. we do this by realising this, and act out of pleasure, not out of fear of failure or others expectations.

My self worth is determined by how happy, satisfied or pleased I can make myself. Another person's assessment of my "worthlessness" means nothing to me unless that person can afford me something that I want or if that person is the object of my desire.

There is a certain constructive type of self-hate, which leads to a dynamic re-evaluation of the self and taking action to self-improvement and being a good person.
My belief on self worth and self esteem for one self is never trying to intentionally hurt anyone and at the same time recognize that you are not perfect but you are able to love yourself unconditionally. To me this is having high self worth and high self esteem.

Self-loathing can create constructive and positive change if it happens in the right place and time. Positive self-loathing (for example) could come from finally seeing oneself objectively after years of being an asshole to others and not being phased by one's own actions. Try convincing the unemployed 25 year old guy still living in his mom's house that he's not worthless and he'll probably never get a job or move out, but continue being a parasite to his hard working parents.

I'm sure this is great for serious Christians, or people that are serious in their belief in a god. But this video does not help much for about 50% or more Europeans which does not believe in god or really care about religion an just call them self Christians etc. because everyone else does. I went through a very rough childhood and have low self esteem because of it. However, that didn't make me decide there isn't a God so that's not necessarily true. Secondly, my low self esteem is a result of opinions I have about myself (not being worthy and good enough, etc.) and that's what Christine is trying to say here. It's all about how we think about ourselves. Believe you're worthless and you'll feel that way. Believe you're worthy and you'll feel THAT way.

Feels like she's RIGHT there...almost like a hug through your monitor. *lump in throat* Life today can be so harse. Negativity everywhere. see i dont think anyone ever thinks or feels there completely worthless, i think its when people are down on themselves they just feel that they are worth less than the norm or than what is considered satisfactory. and those last few words reall stuck with me and were thought provoking because i dont treat myself as well as i treat others all the time.

Self-loathing can create constructive and positive change if it happens in the right place and time. Positive self-loathing (for example) could come from finally seeing oneself objectively after years of being an asshole to others and not being phased by one's own actions. Try convincing the unemployed 25 year old guy still living in his mom's house that he's not worthless and he'll probably never get a job or move out, but continue being a parasite to his hard working parents.
