Persian/Kurdish musicians truly know how to get their "spiritual grooves" on. I'm a cultural outsider, don't understand the language, but I know I'm feeling something akin to what any receptive audience member experiences when I attend a Persian classical concert. When the daf *finally* makes first appears, one hears the audience murmur. There is something extremely special about this drum. It's range of tones, and its "oceanic" quality, are unique, especially in the hands a master .
